- Accessibility: The Arkanis Naval Academy is a famed educational institute and well-advertised, meaning it is easy to know of. Access to the academy is harder to get, as there are high requirements for both students and staff to be accepted into the Academy.

Primarily made to train the next generation of naval officers and pilots, the Arkanis Naval Academy has a number of facilities that are dedicated directly to facilitating the education of these officers-to-be. These include state-of-the-art simulation chambers, which comein three different general 'purposes;' flight simulation pods, bridge simulation chambers, and engineering simulation rooms, each using a combination of physical and holographic technology to deliver a realistic experience in a controlled environment. These simulation rooms allow cadets to test their limits and skills without any sort of physical rest, and can both be used to practice skills as well as to instruct lessons and run operational tests on cadets by instructors.
Of course, simulations cannot compare to the real experience, and a multitude of hangar bays within the Academy store training small craft, corvettes, and even decommissioned frigates that allow cadets to fly real ships. The location of the Academy in space means that cadets have direct access to a zero-gravity environment, although all Arkanis Naval Academy students are trained in and have no problem with atmospheric operations.
Outside of its educational facilities, Cadets spend most of their time in two general locations. The first is their barracks, where they are grouped into 'crews' or 'flights' depending on their career path. These crews and flights also serve as the instructional 'classes' that cadets will spend the most educational time with, forming bonds that often carry on well after graduation. The second location is the Concourse, an open social space that gives cadets space to relax, participate in limited recreational activities, and eat; a large food court with different vendors provides a wide variety of meals, the one luxury given at Arkanis Naval Academy. However, alcohol is strictly prohibited, and instead the various coolers of Arkanis Naval Academy are packed with Fizzle soft drinks, promoted by the popular High Marshal Kiff Brayde.
Altogether, the Arkanis Naval Academy is a historically-vetted military institution that has and will produce the finest naval officers in the galaxy.
- The Concourse: Both the recreational space and for cadets at the academy, the Concourse is a place that allows for students at the Arkanis Naval Academy to have a space to relax, study for exams or simulations, and socialize with fellow cadets. It has a sterile, bright environment and multiple dining vendors that students can eat from, making the Concourse the place that most cadets will spend time in outside of instructional periods or sleep.
- Engineering Simulation Rooms: These simulation rooms are designed to give cadets on an engineering career path to work in simulated environments to handle tasks and situations that would be expected and unexpected when serving on an actual capital ship. The simulation room uses a mix of holo technology and physical technology to deliver a realistic but controlled experience.
- Flight Simulation Pods: These simulation pods are designed to give cadets on a pilot career path to fly in simulated environments and experience flight in a realistic but controlled environment. The pods remove the possible danger of real flight training and the small number of fatalities that occur from that and are typically used to teach rudimentary flight skills before a cadet hops into a real cockpit.
- Bridge Simulation Chambers: These simulation rooms are designed to give cadets on a command career path or on any career path that would operate on a typical bridge of a ship. These state-of-the-art simulation rooms use a combination of physical and holo technology to deliver an ultra-realistic experience that occurs in a controlled environment. Different bridge simulation chambers are utilized to simulate different models of bridges and ships to give cadets as much experience as possible with different bridge environments.
- Classrooms: When cadets are not in simulators or on training runs, they are learning the arts of war and other educational topics in the various classrooms and lecture halls within the Academy, taught by some of the finest academic and military minds in the Confederacy.
- Barracks: The shared spartan living quarters of the cadets, the barracks are as minimal as possible to deny cadets any expectations of comfort while service aboard a ship, to build character and break dependency on common luxuries civilian life affords. Cadets are roomed in 'flights,' or 'crews,' depending on the career path they are enrolled in, the former name being reserved for pilots.
- Hangars: The Arkanis Naval Academy features a wide variety of hangar bays that allow for ships up to four-hundred meters in total diameter to dock in, although only a few hangar bays are reserved for this and mainly smaller craft rest in the hangar bays. Most of the ships docked at the Arkanis Naval Academy are training ships designedto teach cadets how to operate and pilot, whether on decommissioned corvettes and frigates or in training fighter craft.
Although the Academy itself is not a military installation and has no armament, if has a multitude of training vessels that in the case of an attack could be used to defend the station. In addition to that, the Confederacy Armed Forces are always on call and regularly drill for a possible attack on the Academy to ensure excellent response times and preparedness.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Arkanis Naval Academy is a historic institution dating back to the days of the Old Republic and Galactic Empire. Famous for producing alumni of exceeding naval success and ability, the Academy is now a stable producer of ensigns and officers for the Confederacy of Independent Systems, widely regarded as one of the best naval academies in the Confederacy, if not the galaxy.
Historically, the Academy was on an all-terrestrial campus on Arkanis itself; however, the academy struggled with outdated systems and facilities that could not handle the growing faculty and student body. As such, the Academy contracted Roble Manufacturing to construct a new orbital facility, which would give its naval cadets access directly to space for training and getting used to living in a zero-gravity environment. Roble Manufacturing then built the RMST-NA3 Rostu-class Orbital Facility, a massive station that would serve as the new campus of Arkanis Naval Academy.
A number of notable alumni from the Academy now serve in the Confederacy Armed Forces, including High Marshal

Verin Oldo
, both of the Bassadro Sector Armada, and Commander Cazo Thraos of the Kooriva Sector Armada. In addition to that, the Academy regularly produces notable officers and pilots with each graduating class, promising to create a new generation of naval officers that will serve the Confederacy in every utmost capacity.The Arkanis Naval Academy is the school for the Confederacy's brightest, and it is the institute that trains the future of the Confederacy's strength and safety.
