- Engine Vulnerability
The Ardent II Class Fast Frigate is an upgraded variant of the Ardent-Class Fast Frigate utilized by the Former Fel Empire and Darth Krayt's Galactic Empire. Designed by both Loymière Shipwright and the Empire as a proper support frigate for the Turbulent II Class Star Destroyer recently put into service within the Empire's Vast Navy. The Ardent II is meant to follow a new line of naval theory that smaller ships of the cruiser and frigate line will come to dominate the battlefield after the closure of the Second Great Hyperspace War. Coming equipped with considerable firepower in comparison to other frigates, while not sacrificing speed and maneuverability. Although like all wedge-shaped destroyers, the engines are particularly vulnerable to starfighters and bomber variants, and the class has a considerable lack of starfighter support to make up for its weak armor.
