SPECIAL FEATURES
Head
Torso
Arms
Common Supplemental Gear
Strengths:
  • Blaster Resistance: Phrik and armorweave materials provide substantial defense against most forms of plasma, energy, and heat-based weaponry.
  • Kinetic Resistance: The phrik and thermal gel also significantly bolster a wearer's ability to withstand common forms of physical or concussive abuse.
  • Lightsaber Resistance: Phrik is the primary defense against lightsabers. It boosts the protective capabilities of the armor that leaves little room for a saber.
  • Toxin/Poison Resistance: While light weight, many materials used in the armor's construction are more than dense enough to defend against exposure to many forms of gaseous or liquid toxins or poisons. The filtration system, sealable helmet, and emergency oxygen reserve also help prevent inhalation of gaseous forms of these hazards; especially helpful when a mark attempts to gas you.
  • Stealth & Manueverability: This suit was made to allow operators freedom of movement, and to make as little noise or give off as little electromagnetic indication of its wearer's presence as possible.
Weaknesses:
  • Minimal Electronic Augmentation: The suit lacks EMP/ION protection because there is practically no built-in electronic augmentation to protect. This puts means only trained and skilled operators should wear this, or operate in cohesive groups able to make up for any one person's weaknesses.
  • Live Off The Land: Likewise, an operator should bring whatever gear they expect to need, or be prepared to use the enemy's own weaponry and equipment against them. While there is an endless array of add-ons and supplemental gear that can be worn with this suit, the suit itself carries minimal frills.
DESCRIPTION
The Special Forces or Black Ops Antarian Rangers needed a suit to infiltrate an enemy encampment without being detected. Once inside they would be free to move wherever and however was necessary to eliminate a target, acquire a package, or disrupt enemy plans before they could be put in motion. To this end a light-weight stealth suit bolstered by phrik and armorweave was designed. The shadowsilk and shadowskin combined with the padded, flexible soles of the boots can help slip through most enemy defense positions.

With the focus on stealth and maneuverability, the suit lacks many advanced features of other sets. Supplemental gear can provide most of those features, but the expectation is anyone donning the AR BLACK-1 is sufficiently trained and physically able that they can make do without. Decked out in electronic gear, some people become too reliant on technology going the heavy lifting; and with a well-placed ion charge all of that goes out the window leaving an operative exposed. Here what electronics do exist an operative can do without in most cases, and an ion grenade will only give the enemy a false sense of security that can be quickly exploited.
