A legendary sword of a bygone age, Snowfall became lodged in stone by its previous owner until discovered by chance during Thurion Heavenshield's fateful crashlanding on Midvinter many decades ago. He drew the rusted blade from its resting place and slew his attackers, forging a bond that would last until the end of his days. Restoring the aged blade to its full glory, it would see Thurion through many dangers as he would come to prefer the weighted swings to the delicate dance of a lightsaber.
Years later, having settled on Midvinter with his family, his homeworld was invaded by a monstrous horde belonging to their dark mistress — Crone-Queen Gríma Hagraven, a supremely powerful being from beyond the material plane. In a bid to disrupt the portal through which her minions poured unto the battlefield in ever greater numbers, Thurion duelled the Crone only to find himself severely outmatched, and lost an eye for his carelessness. Though their forces successfully pushed back the demonic horde, the wounds he sustained that day weakened him considerably, slowly eating away at his body and soul. Snowfall was similarly shattered, broken into pieces and laid to rest in the Woodland Realm of Averlorn in a place of honour.
Noticing the rapid deterioration of his father, Théodred sought to restore what was lost that terrible day. He gathered to him the greatest, most powerful craftsmen found amongst the Three Kindreds; among them High King Thyrian, the Elf-Queen Aelwyn, and Arnor of the Beorni. Together, the three poured all their skill and artistry into reforging Snowfall, complete with the diligent son sacrificing his own connection to the Force to imbue the blade with the power to combat the poison taking hold of his father.
The sword became known as Anarion — "Son of Sunlight" in the tongue of the Aelvar — was reforged from the shards of Snowfall in the lead-up to the Great War; the greatest battle Midvinter has ever seen. Presented to the Lord Commander of the Realm, Thurion felt his strength return in time to lead the combined forces of the Three Kindreds to victory over the second invasion of the Crone, where she'd laid to ruin the old capital of Tháinbroek and held the High King hostage.
Thurion led the Great Army into battle once more, facing the Crone anew and striking her down once and for all using the new and improved sword. In slaying her, his health was restored and Théodred regained his connection to the Force. To their great sorrow, however, they were too late to save the Phoenix King, whose noble sacrifice closed the gateway to the demonic realm.
In the decades since his coronation, Anarion has ever been at the Lion King's side, becoming an extension of his body and will. They have purged untold horrors from existence, and together they face anything the galaxy has to offer with utmatched swordplay and strength-of-arms. It is more than just a weapon: To his people, it is a unifying force; to his enemies, a harbinger of doom; to the Lion, a trusted friend.
