Suggestion Allowing Younger Characters?

Let me start by saying please don’t turn this into a salt fest. I’m asking a genuine question with no ill intent.

A lot of us would like to write our characters children. Is there some way we as a community could allow this without it going down the pit? Or is it just not worth the hassle?

This is one of those cases where a rule exists because of a few handful of writers made poor decisions in the past which ruined it for everyone else.

You can already do this, you can NPC them in threads and then write them as pcs when they are the right age.

Mhm unfortunately there have been people that have ruined it for the rest of us. The minimum age for a character has changed over the years, but 13 is where we've decided is the best.

As it was already mentioned, writing them as NPCs is the way to write them until they've become of age to be PC characters. You can even submit them as NPC characters into the Codex to give them a bit more life if you're wanting that.

As Judah Lesan and Allyson Locke have said, the minimum age of PCs is 13 because of unfortunate issues.

You may submit NPCs of younger age to the Codex for approval and use them in RPs.

This policy will not be changing.

The way to police it is the way we have it set with the age limit.

I obviously meant a different way that would allow non problem writers to write younger characters.

But a few people did fill me in on some of the past issues so I completely see where it can’t be policed in any other way.

What I was trying to say, yeah the situation is bleak also it would require a lot more screening and introduce approved bios and stuff.

Just npc the kid or just time skip them to 13. 13 is still young.

Your only limiting factor is the actual pc account. But other than that just chill and NPC. It’s not bad I’ve done it with Quinn and Allyson.

The minimum age at which people are allowed to sign up to this website is 13. Thus it makes sense they can play characters of their age.

However, any inappropriate material or behaviour is going to get banned so quickly and so fully it'll be like they were never here. If you or anyone else sees anything, that's why we have a report button.
