OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Fleet Name: Strike Group: Flash
  • Classification: Strike Group/Squadron
  • Affiliation: Galactic Alliance - Battlegroup Kenobi
  • Fleet Symbol: The strike group's symbol is simply a lightning bolt
  • Description: Strike Group Flash is a squadron of eight capital ships supported by a handful of gunships. Attached to the Third Sector Fleet, otherwise known as Battlegroup Kenobi, it saw little combat at the large-scale battles of the Sith-Imperial Civil War but saw a handful of skirmishes in contested territory. It acted mostly as a clean-up crew and ambush attack force. The strike group was composed of three Concord-Class star defenders, two Endurance-Class fleet carriers, and three Sacheen frigates with the star defender ANV Consolidator as its flagship. Parts of the 222nd Nova Corps were attached to Strike Group Flash, working as security for the vessels, boarding operations, and military landings. Since the destruction of Csilla, Strike Group Flash has been fighting skirmishes in Chiss Space, defending and aiding the Chiss people in their fight for survival against the never-ending raids of the Brotherhood of the Maw. They are occasionally cycled out for other strike units. Though the strike group is most powerful when together, each of the vessels can and often do operate independently or with a small escort of support gunships or corvettes.
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Headquarters: Crustai
  • Ports of Call:
  • Reputation: The strike group is relatively unknown and in the grander scheme of things, unimportant. As the conflict with the Brotherhood has largely shifted from focusing on its raiders to that of the shadowy Sith organization, the plight of the Chiss has seemingly taken a back seat. Despite the galaxy-shaking event of Csilla's destruction, prior to that most people rarely heard whispers of the Chiss and so their plight with the Brotherhood seems far off despite the frequency of Chiss visitors in the Senate and the Alliance claiming the territories of the Chiss. To the Expansionary Defense Fleet remnant and the military Junta that has taken control since the deaths of most of the CHiss' political leadership, the strike force along with most of the Alliance's assets are seen with minor annoyance. The fleet does have a decent reputation among Chiss commoners though as one of Strike Group Flash's duties has been to disperse Alliance aid to affected worlds within the Ascendancy.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Part of Battlegorup Kenobi, Strike Group Flash saw a decent amount of combat throughout the Sith-Imperial Civil War. However, they were rarely present for the largest conflicts of the war, typically only assigned to clean-up duty or small hit and run raids on Sith supply convoys. As a result, many of the officers attached to the unit saw little praise or accolades during the long war and were subsequently put onto patrol duties post-war. This entailed a lot of security checks, documenting of refugees, and capturing of opportunistic pirates after the Sith Empire fell. They rarely saw combat with vessels larger than 500 Meters and so rarely had to worry about anything. There was the occasional scrap with a well-defended convoy during the war or a rogue flotilla of escaped Sith Star Destroyers but they always came through.

After the destruction of Csilla however, Battlegroup Kenobi, which had largely seen small engagements or had been relegated to clean-up tasks since the war's end was redeployed to Chiss Ascendancy space. Elements of Battlegorup Kenobi were present at Csilla which led to the rest of the battlegroup being pulled to where High Command thought the fighting would be fiercest. For a time they were right, and though Chiss Space continues to be a hot zone of activity, High Command has slowly begun pulling assets from the area in preparation for attacks on the Maw's true military forces: The New Sith Order and The Final Dawn. In the meantime, however, elements of Battlegroup Kenobi, such as Strike Group Flash, have been left in Chiss Space to defend what is left of the Ascendancy and aid those in need.
