Alkahest study hall (open to all willing to learn)

It had been some time since Gherron had worked with a master of alkahest to help create his sword, that he almost always carried around, sometimes in place of his lightsaber. The blade gave him such an air of calmness whenever he had it strapped to his back. It was a godsend in battle, and it had helped him out countless times thus far, but it was only until recently that he began pondering on the more spiritual aspects of it. What was it like to use the light side of the force to imbue an object? Gherron knew firsthand, having been integral in the creation of his sword. He realized he wanted others to be able to try their hand at alchemy, if they so chose.

Gherron waited in one of the many courtyards of the Rest for people to show up, though quite anxiously. Upon talking with a few other members of the order, he'd decided to have a sort of study hall for those interested in learning some aspects of light side alchemy, as well as those willing to lend their knowledge. He would be one of the teachers, which is what had him anxious. He'd never considered himself much of a tutor, even though he'd taken a few padawans under his wing back in the day. It was ironic; all the confidence was there when he found himself in a battle, but when it came to the role of a teacher, he was completely out of his element. Thankfully, he wouldn't be the only one. [member="Tom Taff"] and [member="Kahlil Zambrano"] had shown interest in providing their knowledge to the class, and [member="Matsu Ike"] had even directed him to try the artisan stations in hopes of finding suitable materials for the activities of the day. Perhaps she would show up as well. It wasn't long before he heard the shuffling of feet, so he straightened himself, ready for the first arrivals.

Emberlene's Daughter, The Jedi Generalist
The jedi artisans were always welcoming others to come and join them. In their white robes with small tools, with crystals that had been cut and the workshop. Massive and filled with droids that were in the situations. They could find nearly any material here within the shop. The jedi master herself though was holding one fo the jedi younglings. Well a smaller child just barely a year old. Black hair and blue eyes, atrisian features as she buried her head in her neck. Matsu moved around though with a grace to different stations seeing the others who were working. "Careful, you don't want to shave to much and let the crystal crack. We want this crystal for a focus to enhance the cutting power of the blade. Something a number of jedi might request from you and that means you need to focus the blade into a smaller containment field. This will increase the focus of the cut and it will slice faster."

Kahlil was here to learn as much as he was there to provide some insight on Alchemy. He knew nothing of the lightsided version that was being taught, but perhaps knowledge of the darker, original version of Sith Alchemy might help shed some light on how to better use Alkahest. Or at least, that was the ex-Sith's hope.

The young man entered the room through a door at the back, trying to be as unnoticeable as possible. There was no doubt some might know his relations to the Sith Empire and might even shun him for it, but he was eager to learn and hoped they would at least understand that. For now he stood near the back, waiting for [member="Gherron Dragonsflame"] to address the growing group.

[member="Matsu Ike"]

Metis waited calmly and patiently atleast that was the appearance she wanted to project a closer inspection would find her fidgeting with her fingers interlocked beneath her robes, with the occaisional shift from one foot to another. Metis had yet to have any real training with a lightsaber or even much training with the force itself in fact, she was however moderately proficient with a blade particularly with the use of Echani fighting or Tera Sai.

As such being more familiar with a blade, and not yet had enough trianing with a lightsaber Metis thought it suitable to attend todays class, eager to create a weapon she could use readily, particularly one she could attune and focus through the use of the Force.

The fact that one of the tutors was her new Master, only encouraged her to attend. Metis knew that her Master preferred to train padawans from a young age after they had been younglings, and had taken a chance at training Metis at such an age relative to that. As such Metis was eager to prove herself in her masters eye's in anyway possible, including that of Force created weaponry.

Tom stood in his normal armour Noverskaan Wolves with his Luxurious Cloak which was a gift from a friend covering his back and his Taff Necklaces around his neck all as examples of what force imbument could do to create items. His cousin had done a lot more in weapon smithing for imbuded weapons but he knew his way around both armours and weapons when it came down to it as he stood near the other two waiting. He waited for Gherron to address the class before he would do anything.

However looking over at the other person with him, he hadn't seen him around the rest before and as such had never heard of him before. That made him curious as to who he was and why he was indeed here. If it was another master he would have seen them earlier and he definitely hadn't been wandering the gardens running errands like the padawans. So he was either a knight level member from somewhere else or he had joined recently and just hadn't been to the gardens yet. Tom then shook his head and focused back what he was here for. To teach.

When Reggie heard about a class that would teach them how to make a sword and give some information on lightsiade alchemy, he immediately took the opportunity to attend. The Padawan didn't really need a sword since he had his lightsaber and staff, but he was still interested in creating one. Gaining knowledge on light side alchemy was another thing that caught his interest, finding that it was something he wanted to learn about eventually.

When the Padawan arrived to the class and saw the others in the room, he bowed in greetings to everyone. His eagerness for the class to begin could be noticed by anyone in the room, the opportunity to learn a trait that most knew about him. As he took a closer look, he noticed that the only two that he reconized was [member="Matsu Ike"] and [member="Tom Taff"]. The Padawan had been taught by both in a class or two, and has even accompanied Master Ike on a few missions.

It had been a very long time since he had been in Silver Jedi space, even longer still since he had set foot on the world that was their hub and capital; a new world with a new Temple to call home. He had never experienced the like of Kashyyyk prior to now and it truly was a marvel in itself. It certainly appeared as though the members of the famed Silver Jedi Order created the new temple with the idea of creating a seamless and natural structure that not only blended well with the surrounding region, but also did not disturb the natural harmony of the world around it -- in short, he very much approved. It was a far step above the temple on Voss but that was only his opinion, and it was very much biased. He approached the Great Hall and steadied his breathing, it was almost overwhelming the amount of Light that permeated the air and very structure itself, and continued to pass through the Hall, eyes turned towards the proud banners flowing as soft and serene in the wind as the Temple itself seemed to be.

He had caught wind of a sort of training to be held this day, more specifically for the art of Imbuing objects with the Force, and his hand reached behind him into his fur-lined pack and his fingers softly ran across the three crystals that sat protected within their pouch, hidden from unwanted eyes. They had been a gift from Mara D'lessio Merrill, a close friend that he had not seen in quite some time; he wondered how she was doing currently and made a mental note to check in on her when he was fully adjusted to being back into the flow of galactic events once more.

He'd had no previous training that he could recall that would allow him to attempt such a feat on his own, thus he had found his way to the class that was going to be held, if nothing more than to learn the art itself. If he was unable to create his weapon of choice, it was no matter, at least he would have gained the knowledge to enact his will and create the Force-Imbued Axe that he had pictured within his mind.

It did not take him too long to find what he assumed to be the classroom, in one of the many courtyards that rested within the heart of the SJO, as clearly was supported by the fair gathering of several other beings within his close vicinity. There were none among them that he recognized, save for the peripheral glimpse of one [member="Matsu Ike"], a Jedi master that he remembered from his time before he had left the Order. His gaze lingered on many of the assembled beings, not settling on any for too long out of respect for them. He was wearing basic clothing, a simple tunic and trousers made on his home-world for him before had left with the Jedi the first time.

Losing is tempoary, giving up is permanent.
Sukai had studied the basics of alchemy and force infusion but had never really progressed much, she had her personal Healing Amulet made a while ago using grey alchemy, the method of such a creation being taught to her by a member of the ORC. Today she hopped to further her knowledge of such a skill in the lessons being taught by [member="Gherron Dragonsflame"], a person whom she knew little about but the last name gave the man credibility.

Word had also passed around stating that [member="Matsu Ike"] would be participating in the lesson along with [member="Kahlil Zambrano"]... it was a name that made her wonder a lot. Such a last name was that of the Sith, their family being quite large and known, her own family had actually seen this Kahlil no long ago and news of him seemed to contradict the mans actions here. Not that is mattered, all Sith were capable of change, she was, though in her case she wasn't an accomplished member of an order, just a follower of some rouge self declared Darth.

Entering the room blue eyes scanned the current students and teachers, [member="Reggie Faayare"] was here, like always, studying and training, quite the dedicated member, at this rate the padawan would make knight any moment. Speaking of which she also saw [member="Tom Taff"], a quick riser on the SJO ranks, one of the youngest and fastest mastered members she knew about. Other then that there were two new face, a women and man whom seemed to be very new. All in all quite the interesting crowd to have for the lessons, she couldn't wait to start.

Slowly, more and more began to trickle in. Apart from the few he had talked to prior, Gherron recognized some of the other faces, though only from passing by them in the halls. He nodded to Matsu, Tom and Kahlil in turn as they walked in, motioning for them to join him at the front. While this was intended to be more of a guided discussion, he figured on having those with the most experience at the center attention to start, so they’d be easily recognizable. However, he couldn’t help but notice Khalil’s intent to stay towards the back of the courtyard, keeping to himself for the time being. That, Gherron understood. He recalled meeting a Zambrano once, and while their name didn’t immediately spring to mind, he did remember the conversation going sour. From what he’d heard of the family, it was a good thing it didn’t escalate into a fight. However, he wouldn’t judge Kahlil for the sins of his family. A person’s own deeds determined what kind of person they were, not that of their predecessors. Clearing his throat to grab the attention of the room, he waited a moment for the low roar of conversation to die out.

”Thank you all for coming. I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised by the interest.” He let his face twist into an amused smirk. ”The purpose of today’s class is more of a guided discussion among peers. Some here have experience in alchemy. Some have merely heard of it, others might have some ideas of their own what it might be all about. My goal is for everyone here to walk away having learned something new. I don’t believe that anyone here has nothing to offer in terms of knowledge. Challenge yourself to new ideas. I’m sure you can even make Master Ike scratch her head, if you try hard enough.” He pauses, gauging the room. ”The main instructors will be myself, Master Ike and Master Taff. Maybe even Zambrano if he decides to stop hiding. Again, we’re all here to learn as well as teach.”

As soon as he finished his spiel, he spoke to the other two masters in a lower voice. ”I think one of us should be at each table, seeing as we’re the most experienced here. Challenge the others by asking questions yourselves, we are students today as well as teachers.” With that, he walked over to one of the tables and reached around his neck to take off his gorgodon tusk; a trophy as much as it was a memento. He’d be finally using his knowledge to imbue it with the force today. He also had brought his alchemized sword, affectionately dubbed Alnox. Pulling it out of his sheath, he set it on the table in front of him as well.

Aurelion was panting softly as he paused before the door to one of the newest classes he had heard about a Master of the Order offering to teach. He seemed to be a bit behind schedule as he could hear many, MANY voices from inside the room. This made him pause and reconsider his choice. He was already in quite a few classes already, and was just beginning his time as Master Dragonsflame's Apprentice. Was it.... possible to have too big a thirst for knowledge? Aurelion paused, shuffling his feet for a timid moment before squaring his shoulders. No. No he wanted to become the best Jedi he could. To help protect people and, possibly, help someone escape the kind of life he had lived before coming here. With a deep, steadying breathe did Aurelion enter the room and, seeing the sheer number of people here, decide to simply work his way to the edge of the group Not too far to the front, not too far in the back where seeing demonstrations would be difficult.

As Aurelion looked about at the other faces around him he paused at the sight of [member="Matsu Ike"] for a moment. She looked... familiar? Not personally familiar but like he had an uncanny feeling that he had seen her before? It took Aurelion a moment to realize he was, inadvertently, staring and shake his mind free of the nagging familiarity with the woman. Regardless, it seemed like the demonstrations were about to begin. He swallowed, having a naturally anxious nature around crowds due to his.... issues with keeping his Force abilities under wraps. He was, however, determined to try his best despite this and the crowd.

Kahlil visibly flinched as [member="Gherron Dragonsflame"] mentioned him by name. Wait, he expected the ex-Sith to help teach the class? He nervously laughed as he moved to one of the other tables, already glancing around the room. The only knowledge he had was on the far darker version of Sith Alchemy, and who would want to learn anything about that?

He didn't have any examples of it, as those would be far too dark for him to have casually bringing them around. So, now he waited, far more curious on what Gherron himself was doing.

Emberlene's Daughter, The Jedi Generalist
She had a look on her face seeing more file in and listening to Gherrons plan for this. teaching alchemy... not exactly something easy... well they had worked with some to see lightside version of it. Phillis had refined a lot of it, Krass had developed the lifeblood, a synthetic substitute for the blood generaly required in alchemical works and her finest crafters used it as the jedi master looked at the child in her arms and spoke low with a coo to her voice. "Yes we are going to see about the force precious." She tickled at her nose but then heard someone was going to try and make her scratch her head. "OH they are welcome to try."

Metis went to one of the tables as Master Dragonflame instructed. Metis looked around the room curiously, there were quite a few students other than herself, Metis hoped to befriend atleast a couple of them as the class progressed. Lessons were also places of social interaction, and Metis was naturally a little socially awkward, still they were all Jedi, Silver Jedi at that, working with them would become necessary over Metis career with the order.

Metis paid attention to what the Master was saying, a guided discussion would mean more social interaction and inclusion. Metis nervously raised her hand.

"Excuse me Master, what sort of items can be created through Force Alchemy, what are their benefits and limits"

Metis rambled out in one breath, swallowed with anxious energy.

The way this class would be handled came to surprise Reggie. Being the chatter box he is, having a discussion about such subjects with others was always welcome. It would be interesting to see how the discussion went and what type of varied questions there could be from each of them.

Before Reggie could relay the first question, [member="Metis Athena Elpis"] beat him to the punch. Her question was related to the one he had, so he waited for the answer out of curiosity and respect. He had more questions ready when it was time to speak.

Something that did catch his eye as the discussion began was the tusk and sword that [member="Gherron Dragonsflame"] placed on one of the tables. Curious, Reggie reached out with the force to try and sense any energy from the items while he waited for one of the Master's to respond to the question posed.

The Valkyri boy had remained silent and watchful as usually was his way when it came to an academic setting. He wasn’t the most knowledgeable on the subject of Alkahest or Force Imbuement, but what little he did know, he learned from Mara; which was to say virtually nothing because she had taught him more on crystals than the actual art of imbuement itself. [SIZE=12pt]Sometimes[/SIZE] it was hard for him to remember that there was a difference between the two, that they weren’t the same thing though more often than not, they were extensively paired together to interesting and effects.

He shifted his weight and moved closer to the three tables, respectively divided by the three “masters” that would be teaching the class. His eyebrows rose and he found his gaze settling on the one they named Zambrano -- a name not often heard of amidst the Jedi, more aptly found among the Dark Side. It was intriguing to see a reformed Sith among them, but it didn’t frighten him. There was much to be learned from one who had been in the dark and [SIZE=12pt]comes[/SIZE] back into the light, he was sure that that man would have a fair bit of experience to share on the subject should he decide to.

He felt a bit of an outcast, as he had been a true member of the Order in a long while, and he generally towered over most that had assembled. Outwardly he may appear as a tough and fierce warrior as typical of his people, for those that knew of them, but inwardly he was a boy wracked with self-doubt and fears. The events on Midvinter prior to his return had reached deeply into his core and pulled forth a great deal of [SIZE=12pt]brokenness[/SIZE] and aloneness. He had lost anyone that was dear to him on Midvinter, to the Vinterbound, and that made him the last of his family; a heavy burden for any child to bear.

He had lost the will to fight and thus had settled himself to a more studious and academically focused path among the Force, the path of the Consular. He felt that his journey should begin there and then potentially he could grow and expand until he had found the confidence in his abilities that he had lost; at the benefit of having gained a great deal of knowledge about the cosmic entity that was the Force and all that it could mean and be.

His attentions were turned outward and brought towards a student who had asked a question of the ones who would be the masters for this period, --What sort of items can be created through Force Alchemy, what are their benefits and limits.

He felt confident - which was a rare thing indeed - that he could answer a part of the question and so he answered her, hoping that no one would take offense that he did, “I do not know much [SIZE=12pt]about[/SIZE][SIZE=12pt] the art[/SIZE] of it, but it seems to me that it is only limited by what you can imagine as well as being limited by what you understand of the art itself.”

He shuffled slightly and settled back into a comfortable position, his mind reaching out to the crystals in his pack and allowing their soothing natures to calm his insecurities and fears for the moment.

It didn't take long for the students to begin breaking up into tables, with two quickly making their way to Gherron's, and another to Kahlil's. He looked at the two in front of him; one seeming quite shy and nervous, the other quite excitable, by his movements. In fact, he could tell when the boy reached out mentally to see what there was to see about the items Gherron had set down. The tusk fragment hadn't been imbued as of yet, but upon probing the blade, Reggie would feel immense light side energy emanating from it. It would also seem as if the sword was Gherron himself, which he would explain in a moment.

Turning to the young woman, he listened to her question, and almost answered when the padawan from the adjacent table took a stab at it. Smiling, Gherron nodded to him.

"Quite right. It is true that you do need at least a basic understanding of three things: The item you intend to imbue, the effect you're hoping to achieve, and the art of alchemy itself. The more of an understanding you have of each, the more effective the results, and the more powerful the enchantment. You can also, in a way, add a bit of yourself to your item. Take my sword for instance. If you reach out to it with your mind, you'll feel as if the sword is me, if that makes any sense. However, this is because there were two people involved with its creation. While my partner was smelting the blade and directing force energy into it, I was busy channeling my own presence into the blade. Here, go ahead and touch it. Pick it up, tell me what you feel."

As the students messed with the weapon, they would notice a few things. First, for a durasteel sword, it was quite heavy, even though Gherron seemed to have no issues lifting it. Second, as before, they would both feel a rush of light side energy coming from it. Lastly, it was possible they would feel a slight warmth come over them, as well as a surge of calmness, the result of the special crystal that was housed in the pommel.

[member="Máni"] [member="Reggie Faayare"] [member="Metis Athena Elpis"] [member="Aurelion Nova"]

Kahlil certainly wasn't surprised when the main bulk made their way to [member="Gherron Dragonsflame"] 's table. He was a recognized master of the order after all. He ended up just joining the group, standing among the others here to learn to watch and listen to Dragonsflame. The sword was.. Very much a Sithsword. The ex-Sith blinked in surprise as he hefted the weapon. Yet it wasn't the dark of Sith Alchemy. The form he knew twisted and warped reality to the will of the user, making it unnatural. Dark.

He glanced to his palm where a scar in the shape of a dark rune rested. Once, his focal point of his Alchemy when he was in the Sith. "How is it that this form of Alchemy is not Dark? It is always about unnaturally twisting reality, which goes against the natural order. How does the Light exist so willingly in this?"

Emberlene's Daughter, The Jedi Generalist
[member="Kahlil Zambrano"]

The jedi master looked at him when he spoke. "It doesn't normally, even the best like Phyllis who refined it was only able to make it slightly better then imbuing objects with the force. Twisting reality and making it do what you want requires blood and death and power. Even with synthetic blood that can be used you still need the other parts to alter on a scale large. Even the few creatures that have managed to be altered with the lightside of the force aren't nearly as big or dangerous." She disliked it when she couldn't fully encourage but the boy was correct in many ways... the jedi couldn't fully do alchemy without a great deal of work and compromise.

When more people began migrating over to Gherron's table, he was slightly taken aback. It wasn't exactly how he saw this class going, with him being the center of attention. If anything, that was why he had the idea of splitting up into small groups. Thinking about it logically though, it did make some sort of sense. He was the one who called the class into session, and he was a master with Josh's last name. Especially for those who didn't really know him yet, they would likely assume he was some prodigy like his brother. The name Dragonsflame seemed to carry some weight around those in the order. However, he wasn't anywhere near as skilled as some other masters he knew; he was just really good at teaching what he did know, which admittedly wasn't too much in the case of alkahest. He knew how to use it and its applications, not how it worked in comparison to dark alchemy or why it was so different. Thankfully, Matsu spoke up when the question was asked. After she said her piece, Gherron nodded and figured on giving his own thoughts on it.

"Honestly, I don't think light alchemy has any basis in twisting the force to your will, as much as it uses it as a conduit to enhance something. For instance... Take the idea of Sith using alchemy to modify and create creatures, or bring the dead back. While I haven't seen it tried, I would wager that you wouldn't be able to pull such feats with light alchemy, even if somebody were to try it, which goes against some of our core beliefs. We don't seek to try to modify or change life, only to watch it grow."

What he wouldn't say, at least in the presence of so many young minds, was that he didn't think there was too much of a difference between light and dark alchemy when it came to inanimate objects. After all, wasn't it just channeling the force into something, whether it be light or dark? That was his understanding at least, but he didn't want to possibly put any ideas of experimentation into the minds of the less experienced Jedi.

Tom remained off to the side at his own table looking over a sword he wanted to imbue. Although he wasn't quiet sure what he would imbue it with yet as one of the lightside sith spawn tree like people came over bowing to tom and looking over the make of the weapon for a while before offering a suggestion.

Tom would hear the voice in his head. Mr Taff after looking over this blade I would suggest perhaps maybe some kind of ice imbuement. Or perhaps something that creates something to your own force power types like moving rocks. Tom look at the creature bowing to it before responding. I thank you oaken vale for your suggestions. I shall keep it all in mind.
