TECHNICAL INFORMATION
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Carrying over the design feature from other Aurora Industries drones, ALBATROSS Drones are lightweight enough and collapse into a disc small enough for a soldier or medic to carry into combat on a backplate of their armor. This is especially true for armor systems designed by Vulcan Industries, a subsidiary of Aurora.
STRENGTHS
  • ALBATROSS Drones are designed to provide medical support in field situations, such as with combat medics on the battlefield or explorers out in the Outer Rim or Unknown Regions needing healing and the nearest medbay is parsecs away. Loaded with multiple instruments, injectors, and scanners, the ALBATROSS is able to perform plenty of immediate triage or healing.
WEAKNESSES
  • ALBATROSS Drones are not designed to engage in combat, even though they have the same basic outer plating as a HAWK Drone. They are only designed to provide medical support to field medics and other individuals when they are out beyond civilization where a medbay might be found.
  • If the Ramuh Power Cores are damaged, and their preservation field is knocked out, the Sianteria crystals within will sublimate and render the power core useless until the field is repaired, and a new crystal installed.
DESCRIPTION

A new offering from Aurora Industries' Droid Division as part of the Phase III project, the ALBATROSS Drone is the company's first medical support drone. With the same design philosophy as the Sparrow and HAWK drones, the ALBATROSS is designed to be carried in a backpack form and be deployed in the field for immediate medical aid. When deployed, it has an insect shape that utilizes a repulsorlift to move around and unfolds from its backpack disc form, with each leg containing multiple surgical and medicinal implements.

The various scanners and sensors on the ALBATROSS can connect with a user's helmet HUD or even a datapad they own to display information, or it can use its holoprojector to display a holographic model of whoever is being treated and the damage that needs fixed.
