Ain't no party like a Mando Party

Rygel Larraq stood in his office and stared out the viewscreen upon the sands of Sundari's rolling desert. Weather reports claimed that the temperature outside the domed city of Sundari would reach greater than 130F. Even inside the confines of Larraq's air conditioned office, a bead of sweat ran down the back of his neck.

It was too frelling hot.

Sighing, Larraq sipped from the iced martini that adorned his desk and wished he could simply drop an iceberg on the desert. A moment later, Larraq froze as he realized that he COULD drop an iceberg on the desert. Snapping his head around, Larraq looked back out the window at the rolling sands of Sundari and he had what seemed like a brilliant idea.

Mandal Hypernautics would throw a pool party. In the middle of the desert.

Rygel Larraq feverishly began typing commands onto his datapad. One of Hyperion Mining's Concordance-class Mining Barges was still in system. It would only take a few days for it to locate a suitable ice-asteroid from the outer reaches of the solar system and drag it back to Mandalore. And simply lowering the chunk of ice onto the planet would be infinitely simpler than pulling a chunk of land from a planet.

More importantly, this could serve as a perfect opportunity to display the wealth and capabilities of Mandal Hypernautics. Invitations would have to be sent out. Party favors would have to be prepared. There would be so much to do over the next few days!

Continuing to type on his datapad, Rygel Larraq prepared his company to throw the party of the century.

Eight days later, Rygel Larraq watched the planet Mandalore slowly grow larger in a holoprojector. He stood in his office and watched the live feed of the Concordance-class Mining Barge as it made its final approach on the planet. Anchored to the ship by gravity tethers and secured via tractor beams, was a massive chunk of celestial ice. Flanking the comet of iced water were two Keldabe Battleships and a Kyramund Battleship, each of which helping to stabilize the ice with tractor beams at maximum.

A cold glass of ice water dripped condensation from Larraq's hand as he watched the display. All of the ships combined were smaller than the chunk of ice that dragged between them on the holodisplay. The estimates he had received put it at roughly four miles in diameter.

Invitations had been mailed, catering orders had been placed, dozens of musical performers had been hired, thousands of meters of lights and cables and speakers had been prepared, and millions of credits had been spent on fireworks. Not to mention the numerous gifts that his company had prepared for each of his guests.

It would be a party like no other.

Darth Banshee had arrived at space port, in her personal ship Dragons Breath. She was keen to net work at this event, as well as catch up on a few friends. As war broke out with the republic, she need allies with factories and soldiers to help them win the war. The One Sith also needed the means to build fleet of their own, this party was means to end. Though their was no harm in enjoying herself while she was at it.
She was greeted by a manadlorian as she disembarked form her ship, who showed her the way to party. The music could be heard form miles around. As she arrived she was shown to her to bar area of the hotel. She was given a glass of red wine, she drank it slowly and waited to see who else turned up.

Oh how ridiculous this sounded. A party in the middle of a desert, a stupid idea in Adenn's mind, but he'd been invited to it by [member="Captain Larraq"], so he planned on showing up "Wonder who else came here," The man thought absent-mindedly "Probably not much, but then again there's probably something I don't know though." He chuckled while starting to land on the planet.

Landing had been un eventful, he'd walked towards the spot of the party for a few minutes too long, his armor's cooling systems couldn't keep him cold enough on the inside, and his armor was scalding hot. When finally saw the spot where the party was happening Adenn's mouth dropped. Here, where the party was happening, was a giant pool of water that shouldn't have been on this planet, it definitely wasn't natural, but Adenn didn't care, he ran towards it, needing to cool his armor down from all this heat.
(Wasn't concentrating much on this post, next one will be better hopefully :p)

Coming in a one of her family speeders that had been ship to her from Sereno. All reason at the party it had been a while since she been to a good party. Only thing was this one the a normal one. When she got her invited having first cleaning up her tea from her desk. Only to find herself giving her Boss a call, to offer both of her hand maiden to help with the detail of the party. As it was they had their far share of planing parties this was just a little one, compared to the grand ones that took play in the House of Teramo.

Stepping out of the car with her driver opening it up at the red carpet that had been laid out. Knowing that this was going to be a hot party out in the sun. Having her talor make a dress with not only sleeveless but also with a thin martial made out of the weave that would keep her body cool enough out in the sun. Making sure that sun block was put on. Giving her skin a gleam as the sun hit no only her hair but dress of blue.

Smiling at how the workers going about their job, including both Rose and Lily giving them a nod, to show how please she was of both of them. Finding her way over to the bar to order herself a fine dark red wine to her liking after looking over the list of wine, imported from around the galaxy.

"Greetings" to the ones that had already shown up, but also looking at the one that seem to be letting his armor cool down. Giving pleasant smile upon her lips.

(OOC: Sorry, got caught up with work and couldn't finish the 'landing' part.)

Minutes later and Larraq was watching the four ships awkwardly position the asteroid over the Sundari desert. The Corcordance Mining Barge dangled the chunk of frozen ice between itself and the planet as the three smaller Battleships helped to stabilize it. A small timer projected itself on the window next to Larraq as he sipped his ice water and watched the Concordance slowly begin lowering the asteroid into the upper levels of the atmosphere. To Larraq, it looked almost like a giant teabag...

Mandal Hypernautics owned several plots of desert land around what had once been the capital city of the planet. For legality sake, Mandal Hypernautics could only drop the asteroid on land that the company owned. And fortunately for Larraq, desert property was one of the only places where you could truly do nearly anything with it.

Glancing out his window, Rygel Larraq could barely make out the asteroid as it slowly descended into the upper levels of the atmosphere. The counter ticked away and Larraq sipped at his icewater as the asteroid slowly grew larger and closer. It was several dozen miles from the city of Sundari itself, but still... It almost looked like Concordia itself was descending to the planet. As the light from the sun reflected in the giant mountain of ice, parts of the desert were bathed in blue light. It was as if a deity was visiting the planet.

A few seconds later and panicked shouting drifted into Larraq's attention. The open comm in his office was awash with voices from the Concordance. Larraq looked up at the Concordance that hovered over the asteroid, thick trails of cable connecting the two visiting deities. An instant later, the cables flailed violently and the Concordance rocketed up and away from the planet. A sudden moment of sickening realization later, Larraq's eyes shifted in time to see the three mile wide mountain of ice slam into the desert sands.

A plume of dirt and debris erupted into the air. A wall of sand raced towards the reinforced walls of Sundari and broke like a wave upon the bow of a ship. A shockwave of force knocked Larraq from his feet and sent his cup of ice water shattering to the floor.

One hand firmly held against his desk for support, Larraq dragged himself to his feet. The comms were even more chaotic now. Dozens of voices shouted out in panic and fear. Rygel Larraq heard none of them. His attention was solely on the dust covered window of his office. A weak shield came to life over the glass and forced the dirt from its surface. But for as far as he could see, there was only sand and dirt clinging to the air.

It couldn't have been for nothing! It couldn't be! Everything was riding on this. Guests were already arriving. Everything hinged on that frelling chunk of ice!

Larraq paused in his silent outburst as a brilliant streak of blue light peaked out from above the cloud of dirt and debris. Slowly, as the sand subsided back into itself, a shining blue mountain of ice revealed itself in the center of the Sundari desert.

It was one of the most beautiful things Larraq had ever seen.

“Send in the first team.” Larraq said as he pressed a button on his desk. “I want everything deployed within the hour.”

A few hours later and Larraq was looking out a shuttle window at the glistening iceberg as they circled above it. The three mile wide asteroid had blown away a crater nearly seven miles wide and two miles deep. A massive lake of water was already forming around the iceberg as the outer layers began to melt. Workers had deployed dozens of floating platforms and numerous water vehicles for public use. An entire quarter of the frigid lake had been cordoned off for Mandal Hypernautics use. The rest of the lake had been left open to the public. Caterers were busily setting up tents and buffets as musicians and engineers prepared dozens of platforms for live performances from nearly a hundred bands from all over the galaxy.

Larraq smiled to himself as he ordered his pilot to land the shuttle.

This would be the party of a lifetime. And for Larraq, it would open the doors of the galaxy to Mandal Hypernautics.

"Send word to Sundari. Begin shuttling in the guests." Larraq said to his secretary.

(OOC: Guests should be arriving at Sundari, being kept at various hotels, and will be flown by limo and luxury shuttle to the iceburg to participate at the party.)

@everyone else

Anija's shuttle had arrived shortly before Larraq's, and she was supervising the setup of the various floating platforms and lighting. She has to admit, when she'd first heard of his idea, she'd thought he was jare'la. And then she'd run the numbers herself. It was risky, sure. But anything worth doing wasn't without a degree of risk. And now, here they were, in the middle of a lake created by the melting of the ice asteroid into its own crater. Shaking her head at the whole situation, she was grinning nonetheless. It might have been frightening to the citizens of Sundari, but the end result was pretty amazing.

I had to admit, this...Larraq or whatever his name of from Mandal Hypernautics had class, knew what civilians liked...That plush stuff yeah. I've done a lot of business on Mandalore, dealt with a lot of Mandalorians. None of them had been particularly pleasant, and honestly, neither was the planet. I never understood the appeal of a wild and mostly untamed world. Where were the clubs? The Bright lights and speeder lanes. For me, Coruscant was the best place to do any sort of business, at least it was before the Sith came along. So when I received the invitation to Larraq's party, well I almost threw it away. It didn't seem worth the trip from my cozy little apartment on Corellia.

But when that sweet sweet limo showed up at my hotel? Damn was I impressed!! Maybe there was some hope for these Mandalorians after all. With a shrug I entered the luxury speeder, taking care to glance over the drinks stored away in the ice chest. "Corellian Spice wine eh..?" Boy did this kid know how to roll.

Palm trees swayed in the tropical breezes on Ceto. The ocean crashing on the pristine shore was a constant in the background, like a dull hum. Tropical foliage and flowers blossomed all around him as Judah lounged in the pool. Well, sort of lounged. One hand held a canopy-covered little float with mesh vents to let water in. Makai rested inside, enjoying the water. It was taking Judah some time to realize his son wouldn't drown should be fall in. Luckily the boy had gills that could emerge, just like his mother.

Speaking of, [member="Thessa Kai"] was swimming back and forth in the pool, bouncing off the sidewalls and propelling herself forward. The relative peace and quiet was interrupted by Ferox, the Footman droid Judah had acquired by 'interesting' means. A thick and expensive looking envelope rested in the droids' hand, outstretched towards him.

"Sir, this came for you and the Lady."

"Thank you Ferox." Fancy script read Mr. and Mrs. Dashiell and was blank besides the seal. Wet hands were leaving small smudges as Judah opened the envelope. Eyes scanned the words inside. It was an invite to a party thrown by Larraq. Judah was unsure how to feel about Larraq in many regards. Besides, he didn't like the rumors coming out of Mando space as of late. Internal debate raged on briefly, quietly. Before Ferox interrupted him anyways.

"Shall I take Young Makai now Sir?"

"No, he's fine." Besides, Judah liked to do work himself when it came to his son. "I've got something else you can do though."

Several days later at the start of the party a note arrived for Larraq attached to a bottle of fine wine from Abregado-Rae.

Please accept this bottle of wine instead of our presence at your event Captain. It is with regret we must turn down your invitation to what shall be the part of the century. Perhaps next time.

Rose and Lily was in some of Mandal Hypernautics uniforms along with the others that was serving at [member="Captain Larraq"] grand party. Finding the two handmaidens of the Countess Calum of House Teramo. It was their own lady that had volunteer of them to help coordinators. Even so they always knew how to get the right people to come to help those that understand the important of a grand party of high society or in this case of Business opportunities for their Lady the CEO of the Mining of Hypernautics. To two blonde sister with there blues eyes had gotten all the finer details down out of the way to the color of the napkins to the gathering of the finish food and spirits around the galaxy.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Walking around the as if her own eyes was seeing every detail to make sure it was the best for her Boss. Bring to her own lips a smile but faint smile upon her red lips. Finding it hard to believe that also crazy that he could pull this off at such a big scale as this has been constructed. Speaking a few words to some of the servants to be helping keep the spirits flowing to the guest, along with the the food. Making sure that all was running before letting her eyes go once again to the table that already had fine wine setting there. Taking one of the long flutes of a darker red wine. Putting it to her lips to find that the taste was sweeter then had expected. Finding her way to where her Boss stood.

Finding that Rose had put a date pad in hand. Making her way over with her long flowing dress of blue. It had came to suit her with the color and meaning behind it mix with trim in lace black on this day. In her hair came the royal jewels of her family house, making sure all her hair was in a gather up half hairdo . Coming up to him waiting for those speaking to him was done before bowing slightly in a propose respect to him. Mr. Larraq, I would like to say first I didn't think you could pull this off until I saw for my own eyes, oh here is the date pad from, Ms. Rose. It should all be in order. " with the way she was being all business showing of nobility up bring. One would know how much of transformation was taking place in her how dangerous she was becoming, with the mandalarian ways she choosing to embrace.

"Corellian Spice wine eh..?"[member="Jecht Thrash"] Lily doing her duty as she waved to the one keeping the bar to find herself, speaking with the one that had just ordered. "Yes good sire a very good choose could I offer you some of these fine food, from this tray." finding herself giving a little nod, as she had one of the servants bring the planter of all sorts of food upon which to pick from.

(Oh, well my first post will have happened in the future :p)

Some time earlier

"Kriffing desert." Adenn sighed, he wasn't inside the hotel he was sent to, he was just going to stay outside and wait, whoever was going to pick him up wasn't going to take that long right? Wrong, Adenn had been sitting here for a long while, as he thought that he either got here early or he was going to be picked up next to last, normally he wouldn't mind, but he was now sitting in semi direct sunlight, heating up his legs, he could've moved but he didn't really want to "Probably should have walked there myself... Or taken a speeder, might have been faster." He kicked the sand at his feet, it seemed that was how he was going to keep himself entertained for now.

(Also, [member="Captain Larraq"], do we pick ourselves up? Or wait a moment for you to reply? Just asking so I don't mess up my next post :D)

Darth Banshee was sipping her wine slowly as she could not handle drink that well. She was watching from a window as the meteor covered in ice fell into the desert. This caused a tidal wave came to come towards the city she was in, fortunately it was walled city other wise it would caused major problems. Hour or so after a member hotel staff arrived and said Your lift has arrived to take you to the mandal motors party. Darth Banshee tipped her and head off to her lift.
When she saw her lift her mouth almost dropped, mandalorians have a sense taste she thought to her self when she saw the limo. Every she seen of them was practical war like. Even to their socializing was just soldiers bonding in one from or another, this was some some thing different though it seemed the mandalorians never cease to amaze her. She thought she finally figured them out well she may been wrong, time would tell.
She was going to this party for few reasons, and to have fun was one of them

It was one thing to arrive at the decade's party in a luxury shuttle, but when the host was providing that service to everyone it meant you had to show up in your own shuttle. Domino had of course called ahead to clear it, security concernes were cited along with showing Larraq just what Domino was doing with all that buckministerfullerene she'd wrangled out of him. Plus she just didn't want to have to wait on someone else's pilot if she wanted to go somewhere. It really was the simple things in life.

The Sigma touched down not too far off in the desert, all gleaming white skin and angular wings and let Domino and her valet disembark. Her usual attiar was subverted for a loose summer dress that was good for the heat as well as hiding the lingering bandages around her ribs and shoulder. Bacta had worked wonders for most of her injuries but it was still hard coming back from a punctured lung and she was taking it easy in a hover chair.

Taking in the lay of the land, the Twi'lek decided to hover over to the bar area and to start this thing out right, properly buzzed. Passing by Sabrina, she gave the red cloaked sith a slight wave of recognition and ordered a Sunrise from the bartender before finding refuge from the sun under a beech umbrella someone had set up.

Racing along ancient mountainous terrain, at speeds unhealthy for the average pilot, Damien flew Winter like a Nightstalker chasing prey. Impeccable turns, swift lifts and drops, all for the fun of the flight. Having returned to the habit of smuggling, he needed a renewed skill set for piloting.

Coming straight at a huge mountain, which had loomed ahead for a time, he waited until the last second to flip a switch and yank on the controls. Rocketing towards the heavens, the man let himself smile at the rush of riding the gritty mountain terrain. But as he continued to climb altitudes, he noticed an oddity.

"Is that..." Damien murmured thoughtfully, and after allowing his focus to truly meet what he saw, it was affirmed. Someone was flying in a gigantic ice cube!

Arching away from the ridge, into a delicate barrel roll, he continued his flight now with a separate goal in mind.

To find out what the hullaballoo was about.

[member="Captain Larraq"]

Darth Banshee nodded her at [member="Domino"] as she waved at her, she seemed to be some pain but handling it well. Though the hover chair did look fun. She decide to move over to shaded bar area to talk to her acquaintance. The sun was roasting hot so the shade would be nice though she was thinking of taking a dip later, once she found out if the water was safe or not. She had switched drinks for this reason to orange juice.
As she approached the twi'lek she smiled and asked So what happened you looked fine last time I saw you. She was interested in couple things, hiring her as consultant for Krayt Industries if she manages to set up. Plus a friendly face to talk too. Since the party was full people she did not know.

Domino was happy to see the other woman move over to join her and greeted her with a smile. "Uhh, dropship took a few too many hits coming in over Sleheyron. Our troops didn't find me in the wreckage for a few hours untill they went looking for spare power packs during a lull in the fighting." There was more but anything more would be like she was bragging. "Not one of my better war stories I'm afraid. How about you?" She asked while leaving the question open to mean war stories or general well-being.

(Sorry for the delay [member="Adenn Gra'tua"]. But everyone is free to show up on their own or get picked up by one of the couple hundred NPC shuttles/Limos bringing people to the party.)

Rygel Larraq walked through a crowd of people, shaking hands and greeting those that he recognized. But in all earnest, he was simply trying to make his way to the water. Despite the respectable breeze that came from the iceberg as it lowered the ambient temperature around itself, it was still far too hot for Larraq's liking. Sweat continued to pour down his back as he walked through the crowd in full uniform. A handshake here, a warm welcome there. Shuttle after shuttle had deposited guests to his party and there seemed to be no end of arrivals.

Music blared in the background as live performers poured their hearts and souls into instruments and microphones, paycheck and notoriety equally on the line for each band that had been contracted to perform for Mandal Hypernautics and guests. Smiling for a moment, Larraq decided that he'd have enough of professionalism for the moment and was determined to have some fun. Larraq nodded at a one of the caterers as he removed his jacket and handed it to the woman. Soon to follow was Larraq's vest, shoes, and weapons. Winking at the girl, Larraq then ran for the water and dove in.

The shock of glacial melt-water on his hot skin was beyond describable. It jarred his senses and brought instant relief and joy. Frell the party, the opportunity to jump into this water was probably one of the best ideas he'd ever had. Smiling like a fool, Larraq swam back to shore and walked out of the water soaking wet and instantly relieved from the opressive heat of the desert.

His guests and handshaking could wait. Right now, what Larraq needed was a beautiful, young girl to dance with.

Seeing a lone figure standing in the sand, one of the numerous Limo pilots making round trips between hotels and the extravagant party angled his craft into a spiral and came to a stop near the man who appeared quite lost. "Can I help you?" The pilot asked, wondering if the man was a lost guest for the party, or just a vagabond suffering from heat delirium. "What's your name? Are you a guest for the Mandal Hypernautics party?"

Despite feeling like he was sweating off his copious amount of tattoos and wearing nothing but a pair of swim trunks did little to help cool him. The oppressive dry desert heat was not something Cypher was comfortably known with. The fortune of being born upon a more verdant world. Still the view of this artificial lake was something. A diamond among the stars. As much as he wanted to jump in to cool off he just kept staring; wanting to look a little longer. Something about Pirates and water mixing well. Though they sail in space, where water has no place. Rygel sure went to an eccentric level for this shindig.

With a grace not found typically amongst the cruel, he artfully rolled the ship to transfer to a dive. Leveling out once more, he soared roughly 100 feet above the lake as it formed. Glancing through the ports, Daemos watched as several people leapt into the clear waters. At this, a slow smile spread across his face.

Shifting controls for his ship to remain locked in place, popped open the hatch that led to open air, and then from there climbed to a crouch on the right wing. Swiftly stripping himself of his armor and clothing alike, save under garments, he tossed them back into the ship and pulled off a tremendously amazing triple flip into a double spin dive...

Except for the belly flop at the end.

Darth banshee replied Ouch I bet that hurt as [member="Domino"] explained what happened to her. She then decide to swap a war story from the invasion of coruscant. I been in action myself to recently on coruscant. She started with smile then continuing I manged to land on the republic flanks, thanks to that ship you built me. She said in very smug tone, she was very pleased with her new ship and how it had performed in the battle. We manged to get hundred and eighty troops on the flank and using, the ship as support manged to route them all the way to the Jedi temple. Which is know no more She said the last bit with a little sense regret in voice. Though she was pleased they won the battle, the building was a magnificent one and the galaxy was a little the poor for is loss. Though the end battle was weird, their was young padawan giving birth in the ruins. I had to let her and other jedi go, which will probably come back to bite me back at some point. She had no regrets though as even she hated the jedi, a new born life was not worth sacrificing for them. Then with a smile she added I even gave them to medical droids to help her.

Then she asked domino a leading question, as the one sith fleet was nearly obsolete and need updating. So to this end she was setting up her own company to help rebuild it Krayt Industries, and she need help from specialist as well as resource to build them. Quickly as her people where at war and soon she got this up and running the better. So how business?
