+ Jedi Knight: Raised from infancy by a remote sect of extreme Jedi traditionalists, Ilian's childhood was almost exclusively dedicated to harnessing the ways of the Force, upholding ancient Jedi teachings, and practicing the art of lightsaber combat. Under the guidance of his teacher, Master Sen-ro, Ilian passed his Trials and graduated to the rank of Jedi Knight within his small conservative Order.

+ Speed Demon: Ilian tends to lean toward fast-paced maneuvers when faced with combat. When possible, he prefers to utilize techniques from Form IV paired with the dueling principles of Sokan to barrage his opponent with a flurry of blows while maintaining high mobility. These strategies are further bolstered through the use of less conventional practices, like Tràkata, and force talents such as art of movement.

- Old School: The traditional teachings of the Old Jedi Order were far more rigid than most of those in the modern galaxy. Raised by a cult of staunch practitioners of these old ways, Ilian has struggled to adapt to the more progressive methods of the New Jedi Order. Although he continues to try to adjust, he can come across as strict and impersonal.

- Sheltered: Ilian had spent his whole life on Savareen up until his sect was discovered by the New Jedi Order. He knows nothing of his true lineage, having been abandoned to the secluded Order shortly after his birth, and is almost just as oblivious when it comes to the galaxy at large. Joining the New Jedi Order and relocating the ancient Coruscanti Temple has been a jarring experience for him, to say the least.
