SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Heavy Walker intended for the police and patrol roles both in civilian, police and military forces. This is achieved through respectable armor and shielding, good weapons, and an able platform that can perform in a variety of terrains. However it is more noted with this walker platform that the focus has been more towards firepower and protection rather than speed and maneuverability in contrast to its other similarly sized model the Locust.
  • Primary Weapons include 2 Deimos Point Defense Laser Cannons and a Heavy Repeating Blaster Cannon. These weapon systems give it the ability to address a wide range of problems that it might be called to deal with, from light and medium vehicle threats to infantry threats presented by various criminals, rebels, and other enemy dismounted combatants. Blaster Cannon has a handy mass stun setting in case you need those meat sacks alive however.
  • Secondary weapons are a Carbonite Projector, Flame Projector, and two Tear Gas Smoke Grenade Cannister Launchers. These add a lot of utility to the walker on top of being a mobile weapons platform for policing and patrolling areas. The Carbonite Projector is both useful as an anti-personnel response weapon that is technically less than lethal along with the ability to be used to combat fires. Conversely, the flame projector allow the walker to clear out flammable debris, along with being a terrifying threat to unruly personnel. Finally the Smoke Grenade cannisters are pretty self explanatory crowd control and dispersal.
  • Eagle Eye Fire Control System ties all of the weapon systems together, providing two separate reticules for the different fire control groups. The primary location of the weapons is in two weapon pods mounted on the side of the torso of the walker. These pods have the ability to make small adjustments allowing for weapon convergence but otherwise are locked into a forward facing position. They can however traverse from down 35 degrees from parallel, to up 45 degrees from parallel. This allows not only for the weapons in these pods to engage targets in these arcs but also give the pilot and gunner the ability to engage targets with having to turn and pitch the torso directly at them. The torso of the walker can twist independent of the legs 150 degrees off centerline, however can only use weapons up to 90 degrees off of centerline. The second reticule however is tied to the carbonite projector which attached to a deployable turret on the top of the walker. This allows for the walker to utilize the carbonite projector in conjunction with other civilian efforts to fight fires and gives the gunner complete control as to where it needs to be aimed above or parallel to the walker. Smoke grenades have a preset arc that is shown in the HUD to the pilot and gunner.
  • Isotope-5A Reactor provides significant power generation able to power all of the various systems aboard this machine, from the various servos, CMAS, other locomotion necessary systems, shields, and main weapons aboard the walker. This Isotope-5A Reactor allows for the vehicle to run all of these systems at optimal capacity allowing for the walker to perform its intended function at peak efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Brand new Eagle Class Medium Armor provides new gold standard for armor protection, alongside protective laminates both on the armor and below the armor. This allows the walker to operate in most environments and offers reliable protection. This has been applied to the walker as necessary to give it good protection against most man portable weapons, alongside low power Anti-vehicle weapons. This paired with a good energy shield makes the overall protection to the walker from a variety of threats very good.
  • Mounted gyroscope and internal droid brain manages most of the lesser tasks of keeping the walker upright, alongside with it being able to take rounds from heavy vehicle mounted weapons and keep upright. Also allows for traversal of rough terrain without too many adjustments from the pilot.
  • Wind Talker Class Communications array allows for each individual walker to be able to communicate and relay information. Information on their own personal position and status from rounds remaining, armor, and systems active to targets engaged, target's status and surrounding environmental conditions contributing to the engagement. This allows for the WC/Co-Pilot to be able to coordinate and relay to all nearby units, enabling wolf pack tactics and coordinated assaults at the lance level.
STRENGTHS
  • Good all around combat/police walker: This walker was meant to be a heavy weapons platform that is used in a role to support either police efforts where needed, such as crowd control or highly dangerous criminals, military and police patrols, and other wise projecting force across large spaces. It's cheaper than most dedicated combat platforms while carrying a large of amount firepower, shields, and being respectable in speed and maneuverability.
  • It's a short range tank in a walker: This walker takes advantage of the same things that most walkers do. Because they're not tanks they can't get really bogged down unless you try really really hard. You also can't make this vehicle either disabled with a jammer or other kind of disruptor to make it suddenly unable to move. It has a sealed cockpit, and more or less can be utilized in a variety of environments or worlds.
WEAKNESSES
  • Extremely focused: This walker is at its core a mobile weapons platform. It's not a transport, scout, or anything other than what it was designed to be. It's a weapons platform designed to be mobile, able to respond to a variety of situations, and otherwise support a larger overall force by delivering heavy firepower to a situation when needed. This can be accomplished in a variety of roles, both as a civilian/police reactionary force to situations that spiral out of control and need a heavier hand, to patrolling an area with a smaller centralized force made of smaller units. This allows for different organizations to be able to bring in heavier support when necessary and project necessary force when called upon.
  • Not a frontline unit at all: This walker lacks the range capabilities necessary for a frontline combat vehicle. It simply doesn't have it available. The laser cannons while offering good range inside an urban environment don't reach out to the ranges needed by combat units in the field. This limits their use to being a pure support vehicle, being useful in the rear as a combat support asset or even as a civilian/police walker. Otherwise these units will suffer as their capabilities are too focused on close range and it isn't fast enough to make that work on a larger more open battlefield. Thus these are not good frontline combat units.
DESCRIPTION
The last of first generation developments for the walker research and development programs in the Surric System, with a focus on close range combat support models intended for patrols, policing, and more civilian applications. The Aegis was put together with an emphasis on this overall design, with good firepower and defense while also making the speed and maneuverability still good. This gives it a diverse loadout of two Deimos Laser Cannons, a Heavy Repeating Blaster Cannon, a Flame Projector, Tear Gas Cannister Smoke Grenade launchers, and a Carbonite Projector. This lends itself to a wide variety of issues and problems that come up more commonly outside of the battlefield. This lends these walkers to use outside of frontline combat in warzones unless they are being utilized in city fighting, but even then a more effective option would be to focus on actual mechanized infantry. This walker however has a variety of abilities for use outside warzones, from crowd control and dispersal, rebel/terrorist suppression, fire fighting, to being able to respond to heavy hitting threats from criminals utilizing heavier firepower. This walker is much more suited to these roles, rather than being thrust into the frontlines of combat.
