The advanced engine suite collects and set up a more modular and robust engine system. optimizing performance and giving redundancy to the main systems to have back up and means to function if they are disabled. From thrusters and stronger inertial compensators to injectors to make for brief moments the engines able to restart faster from being cold. Back up systems within it store the power and can function while repairs are being enacted and enabling the majority of craft to land on a planet. That last one was important as with the advanced shielding which features a hydrolayered shield they can submerge the ship.
