GENERAL INFORMATION
Unit Name: Sith Acolytes (commonly known as 'Acolytes of Pyrrhus' or simply 'Pyrrhus' Acolytes')
Affiliation: Darth Pyrrhus / Saeva
Classification: Sith Acolytes
Description: On the field of battle, these acolytes are easily identifiable by their Sith garb. Black robes, dark tunics, and the iconic lightsaber at their side. While some variation exists, for example those who opt for the double-bladed version, all come equipped with a lightsaber. None were given it freely. These have been plucked from the various Sith Academies Darth Pyrrhus had influence on, and only those who have gotten far enough in their development to forge their own blades have been plucked for his own designs.

These acolytes are not limited to any particular species, and are quite varied in their makeup. Often deployed along with a legion of stormtroopers, they will assume the position of officers. Occasionally they are sent out to operate on their own to perform various tasks and missions as agents. They are strongest when grouped together, however, which is often the case for the toughest of battles. On their own, there is no great sorcerers among them, yet combining their efforts they can amplify the rituals of the Dark Lord they serve.

A flexible unit, finding their place depending on the needs of the situation.

COMBAT INFORMATION:
Unit Size: Small
Unit Availability: Rare
Unit Experience: Elite
Equipment
: Lightsaber/ double-bladed lightsaber, Sith robes and common light armour

Combat Function: These acolytes add a flavour the common trooper cannot. Trained in lightsaber combat (preference depends on the individual), complemented by knowledge of the Force, these acolytes are highly potent, and for reasons just stated, show a high degree of survivability. Capable of acting on their own, however, these acolytes will most often find themselves placed within an army, acting as officers ensuring the will of their Lord is carried out. On occasion they will be called upon to band together, joining in Sith rituals (though they will not initiate these on their own, requiring a Lord to guide the séance).
Force Abilities (Force User Units Only): The following examples are all limited to an Acolyte's level: Telekinesis, Force Lightning, Force Drain, Enhance Attribute

Strengths:
  • Use the Force: Blessed with the powers of the Force, these acolytes support regular troops with the mysterious powers of the Force with great effect and devastation.
  • Ritual support: While frequently kept apart, in command of their own smaller units, their greatest strength comes when they join together. On their own, they are all incapable of any feat of Sith sorcery worthy of note, but can lend themselves to a Sith Lord capable of drawing upon them. Joined together they can make rituals more potent.
Weaknesses:
  • Ungraduated: Hand-picked and capable, it is still worth noting that these acolytes are not quite so special as to attract the attention of Sith Lords looking to take them on as successor apprentices. These are mere acolyes, and can be overwhelmed by numbers or more capable Force users.
  • Force-nullifying equipment: Their only weapon being the Force and a lightsaber, with the former informing the second, being cut off from the Force would be severely detrimental, and render them far less capable.
  • Jedi: Frustratingly, for all their ambition and posturing, Jedi Knights appear to cut through them with ease. It appears the Force is not on their side.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Decades ago, Darth Pyrrhus, then merely Tanek Santii, was instrumental to the conquest of Glee Anselm. He later founded a Sith Academy in the underwater caverns of his conquest, which marked the beginning of Pyrrhus as someone greatly involved in the making of Sith. Initially his influence was limited to that single Academy, but it since expanded. The Togruta Lord later held various titles, from Voice of the Dark Lord to the Dark Council. He used his position to spread his influence to other academies. While Sith were commonly known to serve only their own interests, there always seemed to be an Overseer who at the very least owed the Lord a favour. This status quo meant that Pyrrhus' own philosophy on the makings of a true Sith remained prevalent in the teachings.

After the fall of the Sith Empire, many academies were abandoned, but many still remained active in secret. Even as the Sith withdrew from the Core and into secrecy, the Order remained. Since the fall there have been more acolytes than masters, and not all masters showed an interest in teaching. This suited Pyrrhus, who grabbed the students with most potential for himself, drawing them into his own machinations. These were handpicked and proven.

Much like the Jedi generals and commanders of the clone wars, these Sith Acolytes were integrated into Pyrrhus' armed forces. They were made to be loyal to him and his vision, utilized within his legions. Those Acolytes who could not adhere to his principles were simply not recruited. In his legions, these acolytes would be placed in charge of companies and battalions, though of course not all companies had a Sith amidst their ranks. The acolytes answered Pyrrhus himself, or recognised Sith Knights within his faction. Notably, Saeva, as Pyrrhus' chosen apprentice was elevated above the academy acolytes, and held rank above them.
