ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • This Twintail has been tuned within an inch of its life. Aftermarket components have replaced a number of key systems. In particular it is exceptionally agile.
  • It carries a range of weapons to deal with other starfighters and lighter targets.
WEAKNESSES
  • The starfighter's cannons are designed to be fired in short bursts and can overheat. Along with tracking missiles that only provide a light punch this starfighter is not made to engage capital ships. The best it could do is get within the shields and pick off some turrets.
  • Requires heavy and frequent maintenance. Engines need regular retuning or else become unbalanced between uses.
  • No astromech for repairs whilst in-flight.
DESCRIPTION
Acaadi has been flying a Twintail with the silver jedi for several years now. Over time he has worked with the engineers to tune the ship both to accommodate his jedi senses for more direct handling (and less computer control) and to improve performance. The rear astromech slot has been replaced with an automated pop-up ion turret. It is not particularly powerful, but can threaten starfighters behind the Twintail and fire upon people threats whilst on the ground.

The laser cannons have been tuned for more rapid-firing. However, this cannot be sustained. It makes the vessel effective in destroying other starfighters in short bursts, but less effective in providing sustained damage to capital ships. The ordnance exclusively uses lighter homing concussion missiles. These are difficult to jam and exceedingly difficult to shake off. However one is not normally enough to destroy a shielded starfighter.

The hyperdrive is no faster than a typical starfighter, but the vessel has an extended range being most starfighters of its class. Acaadi uses the ship as a personal transport when on Jedi business. Without an astromech, Acaadi cannot have the vessel repaired in the air. It also forces him to get his hands dirty if he has to land with any maintenance issues.

The vessel has an exceptionally durable frame and two thin layers of armour to keep weight down. It is what lies between them that is interesting. A honeycomb of cells runs between the two layers. Within each cell is a rare material known as laminanium. Should a cell be pierced, generally in the instance of the vessel receiving a glancing blow from a laser cannon, the metal inside will be melted. The inner hull is thermally conductive and as the laminanium bled out it was rapidly cooled and would seal minor breaches.

Quite the snazzy starfighter-cum-personal transport you've got here, but there are some minor issues to resolve before I can stamp this.
  • Your Affiliation should be Acaadi (linked to his bio) or the equivalent, not Unique.
  • The Market Status field should be included below Affiliation, as per the current Templates - in your case it'd be Closed-Market.
  • The correct Squadron Count rating would be "None", not "Unique".
  • Please link Laminanium, as it's quite rare - one good option would be adding it to Materials, e.g., "Layered Durasteel-Laminanium Hull".
As an aside, your Image Source is completely fine, but linking directly to the art itself is probably better. It's very recognisably AdamKop art, though.

P.S. - This submission's one rating underbalanced, so you can raise one if you'd like. One interesting option would be to raise the Squadron Count to Very Low for the purposes of storing it with other ships, much like I did on this submission. That'd mostly be flavour, of course.
