A Revolution in Design

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
"You had an opportunity to, with the first act you ever committed as a lightsaber wielder, kill one of the most infamous Darksiders in the galaxy. It wouldn't have been a permanent death, but the prestige of your actions would surely be noticed." She answered. "Instead, you received a lesson. One that may one day save your life when going into battle against someone as trained in the Dark Arts as I. Even those of the light can be sufficiently ruthless - that I can assure you of."

She looked at the hybrid. "Talking will only make it worse. Now, remember those pools we passed by? Healing pools, filled with kolcta. A cocktail of Manaan kolto and the very last dregs of bacta existent on this world. Strip down and bathe in it - the fluid works wonders, and few gain such an opportunity to experience total immersion. It can heal wounds almost instantly, reattach severed limbs with no issue, and even counter the effects of aging when consumed - though it does have the same sickly-sweet taste as its forebear agents." She replied. "A few seconds of immersion in the liquid and you will be as good as new - even better than you were before."

[member="Vallory"]

Vallory rubbed at her chin, still glaring down the other. Infamous? Yet she had not heard of her before their first meeting...then again, she knew barely any force users by name. "Harsh lesson if you ask me..." she said, finally stopping in rubbing at her jaw. It felt like it was bruising and no doubt was. With her Vahla blood her bones were weaker, and a punch did more than it would to most. But at least it made her flexible, which was not useful currently. When she was directed to the pools, she looked back to them. Then turned back to [member="Vanessa Vantai"], with a sly smirk.

"Fine, but no looking" she said with a bit of cheek. She went over to the pools and did as she was told, taking a dip. And then her jaw felt good as new, and she felt rather relaxed. But, Vallory did not spend too long. "I'm not getting any other lessons, am I? I would at least like a little warning..."

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
“The best lessons in life are those learned harshly.” She said. “Such a memory sticks with one more than something learned in another way.” She looked over the weapon in question and carefully made sure that neither Vallory’s clothes nor her newly acquired weapon were drizzled upon by the bacta.

“There was a time where I myself would have gladly joined you. But that time has, I’m afraid to say, long since passed. Seduction only goes so far.” She motioned to a towel on the wall. “You May smell sterile for a couple of days.”

The last comment brought a smirk to Vanessa’s face. “No more lessons - you’ve learned that which I can best teach you, after all.” Once Vallory dried up, she offered the woman her clothes back. “Here you go.” She said. “There is a lot to learn, you know - perhaps you might be the sort interested in learning more about the ways of the Dark Side.”

[member="Vallory"]

Vallory paused, giving an odd look over in [member="Vanessa Vantai"] direction. Then she smiled lightly, laughing a little. She assumed she was saying she was too old by now. "Come on, no one's too old" she said as she grabbed the towel, still watching Vanessa to make sure she did not even make a glance. Once she was all dried up, she took the clothes and retreated to somewhere she could get herself dressed, out of sight.

"I might be...Are you offering?" she asked, giving a sideways glance as she came out, now dressed up again. "I mean that what you did was impressive. Definitely took me by surprise, and things rarely take me by surprise."

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
“Oh, believe me, I’m not too old to enjoy such a thing.” She said. “That said, I don’t aggressively pursue the acquisition of pleasure as my primary focus in life anymore. There are far better things to do than that.” She replied.

“I see no reason not to. To be a vampiric being is to sustain your life at the cost of that of others - something that I assure you fits quite well into the ideals of the Dark Side.” She smiled. “With the right training, you could turn from a mere meek mortal into a predator of unparalleled potency.” She thought for a moment.

“This would require you to come to the Sith - to join me on a journey to the great empire of darkness some few star systems away. To be formalized as my apprentice.”

[member="Vallory"]

Vallory smiled lightly back. She herself did not pursue such things either but she enjoyed teasing others about it. It brought her you to see others reacted to her antics. Though she showed no disappointment towards them if no such reaction was given. Her attention from this as [member="Vanessa Vantai"] spoke of how the dark side seemed suited for Vallory.

"You really think so?" She asked, turning slightly. She had no idea at first whether to take it as a compliment or otherwise. "An...an apprentice?" Now that generally took her by surprise. She paused... "What's the worst that could happen?" She said with a shrug.

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
“Of course. It’s been ages since I’ve had a proper student. I suppose I still have a debt to pay to the Sith regarding training more in the ways of the Dark Side. Best that I catch up.” She thought for a moment as to how best to respond. “I would officially put you in a position within my corporation, and as such you would gain an opportunity to learn about the ins and outs of business, of technology, while clandestinely serving as a student.”

The arrangement seemed simple enough, all things considered - she did need the assistance of others if she was going to expand this corporation into a galaxy-spanning business., after all.

[member="Vallory"]

"Ages?" Vallory tipped her head curiously. How long was ages? And Sith? Then she rolled her eyes. Business and technology sounded so boring to her, she didn't want to learn that. She wanted to learn how to work wield a saber. How to use the force, bend it to her bidding, her will. "Business? Come on let's start with the fun stuff."

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
“Patience.” She said before laughing a bit. “Oh, the irony... a Sith telling her student ‘patience.’ I sound like a damned Jedi.” She motioned to the entrance and exit to the underground laboratory. “As is, we need to go. I believe you have to find someone to teach you in the arts of swordsmanship, while I have other things to attend to. I will come and see you out.”

She smiled. This had been a good opportunity.

[member="Vallory"]

Vallory nodded. She needed to find someone who could teach her how to wield such a weapon. Surely [member="Vanessa Vantai"] knew someone, so she asked her new master, "Do you know any who could teach me?" She kept her gaze on Vanessa as they began to leave.

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
"There are some I can think of." He said. "I'm sure I can put you in touch with them - or at the least give you a selection of bladesmen and bladeswomen in order to make your pick." She said as they reached the entrance. "Alright. Well, this is where we part ways. I have things to do and work to plan out, all things considered. You have my contact information - let me know when you want to get in touch." She said. Once she left, it was over - the doors would close and Vallory would be left outside.

It had worked.

[member="Vallory"]

Vallory went to the entrance of the facility with [member="Vanessa Vantai"], and once it was reached she turned to Vanessa. She honestly had no idea how to thank her. So, after a moment's hesitation, she bowed. Vallory thought that was the best way to thank her. "I will do just that once I am ready" she said. Then she left, and the doors closed behind her...and she grinned as she had something go her way. And was on the way to a new form of power she hungered for.
