A Ranger's Paradise (SJO)

Unfortunately, Grandmaster [member="Arisa Yune"] had failed to hear him before, or see his wave, and it seemed she was leaving. With a shrug of his shoulders, he would wave her once more as a farewell before he would just shrug it off. Wasn't the first time he'd been snubbed by a Grandmaster... Wouldn't be the last, probably. He didn't seem all that overtly bothered by it, actually he seemed quite used to this sort of thing in his "old" age... Or old age in terms of experience anyway. Not to mention he wasn't the most trustful sort. But he didn't hold it against Arisa... Popular girls, Grandmasters were. Busy, busy, busy.

So with that shrugged off, he returned to polishing off his drink as he peered around the bar... Might as well try and make some effort to socialize. But boy was he awkward when it came to starting conversation with strangers.

What came out of Yuroic's mouth next almost made her swerve at the wheel. It was only her experience as a pilot under stress that kept her hand steady.

"...what?" She drove until she hit the finally made it to the Silver Temple, but just parked and then locked the doors to keep him from leaving. At that point, she didn't much care if he was drunk, as he had brought up issues that she felt the need to address right on the spot. All of this was disheartening news that had never appeared in official reports.

"It is NOT YOUR FAULT what happened to Jairdain and Karl!" She was almost shouting then, rising guilt causing distress. "That's on me! I sent them to Charros! I underestimated the resistance they would face there! I failed to deploy reinforcements in time, feeling sorry for myself on Kashyyyk!"

Moisture welled up in her eyes, but she didn't cry, instead of dropping her forehead against the wheel as she slumped forward in her seat. "I told her that she would be safe, I promised that I would protect her. That would protect all of you..."

Her outburst certainly wasn't behavior befitting a Grandmaster, and she would beat herself up for it after the fact, but at the time it didn't feel right expressing herself in any other way to Yuroic in private.
Sorel she would never be, too much fire in her blood.

"The truth is that...none of us are safe," she spoke hoarsely, words only coming out a little above the level of a whisper. "The truth is that we are hunted, day in and out. Sith, governments, corporations and all the others, trying to take us and turn us into their tools, living weapons."

The thought of
Marzoon came to mind, where she had stumbled upon the First Order attempting to exterminate a rogue group of Force Users simply trying to hide away from the wars that ravaged the galaxy. Their only crime being that they sought to retain their dignity as sentients. No one would ever know, but that's what had been the final tipping point in her decision to push for action against the First Order. She was tired of her kind getting pulled into the idiotic crusades of politicians and warlords, dying for their causes.

"It was wrong for me to make such promises, but I just wanted to make her feel safe. I want to all of you to feel safe, for this place to be your sanctuary from all those who would try to use you against your will. If we could just remain among ourselves in peace, then I would like that, but that's not how the galaxy works."

Never Underestimate a Good Bottle of Whiskey
(OOC Information:
I was absent for more than a week so I apologize greatly for not being responsible. To make things short, basically Jerit may have had too much to drink)

As Jerit was having a nice time, fully complete with dizziness and the occasional feeling of vomiting. He was walking everywhere with sides of him leaning too far out. He decided he needed to sit. Even if the 15 year old Jedi was pretty drunk, he still had some intelligence left. he sat down with some other tipsy soldiers and all of them were having the best slurred conversation... if they could even call it that. Basically it just included the padawan and the soldiers blabbing non sense at each other and drinking more. Jerit did not know what happened to his booze, so he grabbed a half full cup and drank it with no regrets. It must have been something super strong because Jerit gagged and some of the drink escaped his mouth. He smiled and gave a very loud laugh. The other soldiers did the same. When Jerit was about to speak again, he saw an old friend grab him by the shoulders.

" Heeeey! It's... *burp* the soldier man! I remember yoo... *yawns* yooou! "

The soldiers laughed more and gave a nice farewell to Jerit. Jerit could not hear that well, so he did not know if [member="Valkren Calderon"] responded to his words.

Now Valkren was pushing him to the entrance, before stopping to greet [member="Marl"] and [member="Cambria Zadira"] . Jerit let out more burps. Now that he was in the vicinity of a Jedi, he kept more to himself. He heard Valkren asked if he could borrow Marl, and Jerit smiled from ear to ear while looking at everyone. Now he was waiting to see if Marl was coming along. Jerit let out another burp.

The abrupt stop when they reached the temple made both Yuroic and his stomach lurch forward. He took a moment and some deep breaths to keep his stomach as settled as possible. Now feeling a bit more sober, he knew that when he woke tomorrow, he was not going to enjoy the hangover. Looking at Arisa as he listened to what she had to say, he realised that the lost of Jairdain had hit her just as hard as it hit him. He felt a pang of guilt as he never realised that his Master, this strong, confidence and calm woman could feel this way, he always saw her composed and her emotions in check. This moment made her more human in his mind.

I... I don't know what to say Master. There was nothing you could have done, you didn't know till too late that she was being hunted by Sith. However, from what I've been told from reports, I think I know who it was that took her. I faced him on Vjun, if I spent more time fighting and trying to kill him instead of attempting to talk him and the attack down then he wouldn't be around to go after her now. When she said it wasn't Karl's fault, he felt his anger rise and looked away. It was Karl's fault, he could have done more. She shouldn't have be taken. I could have stopped it if I was there, I know it. I don't know how I would have done it but I would have fought harder. Been stronger and not roll over like he did. I... He sighed as he closed his eyes, tears leaking down his cheeks. Releasing the anger and the jealousy he had for the fellow Jedi.

I wouldn't have done anything he didn't do already, probably would have ended up dead. Yuroic admitted after a long pause and turning back to look at his Master, giving her a reassuring hug. We have to find her, and soon. I don't like that they are keeping her with no ransom, they took her for a reason and it can't be good. They clearly don't want to hold her over us but it has to be for some reason they picked her.

It was then thought for the most part Ronin had kept to the sideline and out the sight of the rest gather there. And observed or at best didn't do anything to catch the attention of the other which oddly been a skill he'd gain outside of the Temple. Steam from his time on the streets that seem suit him at the same time serves him well enough thus far. As time progress with the entrance of the interesting blue lass that no less got the attention of most the male patron there including him for a bit. That between the sip of his ale he couldn't help eavesdrop on their conversation as it went on.....of which talks of slavery and evil of Hutts which he'd been all the more aware of himself. Having seen it first hand a few times.....but then again distracted as he was it took him while notice the Grand Master move off to the side with one the other to the sideline.

Seem in deep conversation about something that out curiosity after take the last sip of his ale he felt draw to check out. Out of curiosity given he could help but swear he'd recognize the other fellow. As one he'd met before and given the seeming seriousness of the talk drew him in more to well eavesdrop on their conversation. Which was sort something not quite polite to do as some the Master would say but he couldn't help it out of curiosity given his time away from the place as much he had lately? There been quite few thing he'd seem miss out on and he figured who best gauge the seriousness of the state of things than well hear it from the current grand master?

She didn't feel like acknowledging his comments about Karl, because she figured there was a personal element of jealousy there. Jairdain was...popular among some members of the Silver Order. In the event that Jairdain was recovered, she was going to have a very long talk with that girl.

"Hindsight is 20/20, Yuroic." She sighed and leaned back into her seat. "If we get wrapped up in our mistakes, then we can never move forward with what we learned."

"We're looking hard right now, I promise you that." Leads were slim, as the SJO didn't really have any contacts within the Sith world, but as she thought about it more, she was starting to get ideas.

She would feel someone's attention on them outside the speeder. This looked to be a good time to end their conversation for the night. She would much rather speak with him when he wasn't intoxicated and so prone to fluster.

"We'll pick this up in the morning, now
let's get you to bed."

She finally unlocked the speeder, slipped out, then came around the other side to pull out Yuroic. As she did, she would look around for the interloper, eyes falling on Ronin in the distance. She would then smile and nod, a sign that all was well with her and her apprentice.

Yuroic could sense another's Force presence but due to his drinking, he was unable to know who or where they were. Instead he listened to Arisa and nodded his head lightly. Rising out of the speeder, his mind thought on where to find them, where would they have taken her to do with whatever they wanted to do. Eyes half closed as he stumbled forward, he looked at his Master.

I am sorry about tonight. I am not normally a heavy drinker, last time I woke with a tattoo saying bravery, at least I thought it said that. Now I know it says bantha fodder. Really need to get that redone. Do we have a parlour here? Perhaps we could get a matching tattoo to signify our relationship as Master and Padawan! Wouldn't that be cool? His eyes widen with joy as he thought about the various things they could get as matching tattoos.

He grinned at an idea or two. We could get the SJO insignia or each other's lightsabers on our arms! Or... or... He gave a yawn, falling into his bed when they arrived to his room and quickly falling asleep into a loud drunken snore that would cause the room to shake.

As Arisa carried Yuroic to his room, she would just nod along as he apologized and then made a crazy request for matching tattoos. She couldn't help but snort at the absurdity of his proposal; she liked him as an apprentice and friend, but not that much. That was also a good way to jinx things.

"Maybe," she said as she tucked him in. "Goodnight."

Walking to the door, she would find herself suddenly jolting from a thunderous clap that rocked the room. She looked back on a snoring Yuroic, eyes wide in shock.

"
Fething hell..." she hissed.

She lingered a bit longer to move around some objects so they wouldn't fall on him or the floor, then finally made her exit.

At any rate thought he figured it was sort not be a good idea or manner to eavesdrop on them without their consent. He at best could help it especially after note who it was she was escorting off. Which in hindsight he recognizes as being distress about something and reminded back to some the things he overheard round the temple. At any rate thought the strain quite a bit he couldn't quite help then note the sweeping flow of the force that was soon followed by Master Yune turn towards his direction. At which time with a nod and a smile seem to indicate he'd been found out at which time pull back He then turn return the nod and smile as if let her know he understood. That he then turn his attention back to the crowd there as he then head to order a drink for the day.....
