A Place to Drink, and be Merry [Iron Empire Gala](Invitation Required)

With [member="Aster Rose Baelor"] busy welcoming her uncle, the Emperor, Nina got the chance to spend a few precious moments with her brother alone. Again she put her arms around him by the waist, less pouncing and more wishful of them somehow disappearing into a world of their own. Less joy, more tenderness. "They have retired to Midvinter, last I heard, raising our little brother," she offered in response to his question, resting her head against his heart and listening to its beat, and with its beat they began to slow dance. "It isn't fair that we should be so separated, Théo. We spent all our youth doing everything together, always with mother and father close by. Now we're all scattered among the stars. I miss when we were a family."

Nina's best memories all had Théo featured prominently, and she barely remembered a time before his antics and adventures - some of which even brought her along for the ride. Now they were all grown up with duties and responsibilities keeping them apart, with an entire galaxy between them. What it boiled down to was that Nina missed her brother dearly.

Their brief time together came to an end when the Iron Emperor was announced, prompting everyone holding allegiance to him kneel to pay respects to their lord and liege. Nina hesitated doing the same, for she was not a citizen of the Iron Empire nor a member of its Order. Instead she remained standing even as the emperor's niece escorted him to meet with her and her brother, and only when they stood face to face did she offer the Jedi bow. "Your Imperial Highness," she greeted him. "Our father offers his apologies for being unable to attend, and he asked me to fill his shoes." She stood straight again and offered a kind smile.

"He did add, however, that he does not regret being indisposed, and that he desires to devote himself to being a husband and father again. He also said you would understand his decision."

"I am pleased they are well and I will have to return home soon to see for myself what they are up too, besides I want to see my brother". A hand raised and rested on the back of Nina's head and his fingers gently played with the ends of her long while hair. How the situation had changed as time marched on and he was now comforting her when once it was the opposite. He did not mind this in the least for he loved his sisters dearly.

Nina you are so dear to me, I miss home and family too ..

The days of family, just as they had been, long gone as each of them now tread the galaxy on differing paths. Mother and father would make a new life for themselves, and he hoped they would be happy in this endeavour. He, a member of the Iron Empire, trying to make his own way as best he could and no doubt in time, he would return to fold of the an Order of Jedi. But not yet...

You could remain here with me .. , he left the thought to her as suddenly the room filled with fanfare. As Nina pulled away and turned to face the Emperor to greet him, Theo did the same, bowing low at the waist to his Lord and Commander. Once Nina had finished her address, "Emperor Baelor, may I present Princess Nina Heavenshield of Midvinter and my sister". His words a formality and as they ended, Theo took a step back to allow them to greet each other, for the Emperor knew of him already.

Lady Kay said:
Kay laughed a little as [member="Josh DragonsFlame"] messed up a little and tried to cover it up. It was innocent enough and she knew that he didn't really mean it. Unless he was the sort to not be loyal to his wife. Strangely enough though, Josh didn't seem the sort to dishonour his marriage like that. Hopefully she was right.

Then he held out his son. Kay blinked. Had she ever held a child so young? Not that she was aware. Even Rae-Anna was older when she was adopted. "I...I don't know. He looks pretty comfortable there, and I don't want to risk waking him and having him freak out because he was being held by a stranger. I know that if I was him, that would have me scared..." And she was nervous about it. Kay glanced around for [member="Veiere Arenais"] to see if he was okay or bored out of his mind yet.

Then the big announcement for [member="Isamu Baelor"] was made. Many stopped and knelt, though others just looked. Kay had heard of him of course, for quite some time, yet she had never been in the same room with him. No doubt a glimpse would be all that she would get. She knew that there were strict protocols and her place in the Galaxy was far too small to be required to see all the heads of state and government leaders. That was what Ministers were for.
Him? Not loyal to his wife? Had she had her memories, she probably wouldn't have thought that about him, considering the last time they had spent time together, he really just talked about [member="Shmi Labooda"] 80% of the time.

But the kicker came when he had offered to let her hold Jason, as he'd tried to do earlier but was unable to while he was awake. He would shrug his shoulders when Kay would offer her objections seeing as he might freak out when he wakes up. "I think he'll be fine when he first wakes up" He would respond. "He'll be too tired to really tell you to screw off, and by the time he's woken up proper, he'll be too comfortable to make a fuss" He would add, shooting her a cheeky grin at that. Apparently, his mind for battle tactics had expanded to Baby Warfare...

He watched the big announcement for a moment, before looking back to Kay to continue the conversation. He had distanced himself from galactic politics... He didn't seem as concerned as the rest of the guests.

"So I have an idea... Let's go to the lake by ourselves the first time, when we get the chance. See if just us kicks up the memories a bit by replication... And then maybe the second time, we make it a double date? You bring your husband, I'll bring Shmi and Jason. What do you think? Could be a decent day out, and we could get to know one another's family a bit better... Seeing as we've both ended up having them in some form during our time apart."

Kay still made no move to hold [member="Josh DragonsFlame"] 's child. She was very sure that she would wake him. Plus she didn't really know how to hold him well enough without waking him. That kid sure can sleep though.

To his idea, she tilted her head a little to the side a bit, glancing around for [member="Veiere Arenais"] . Hopefully he wasn't too bored out of his mind. She turned her attention back to Josh. "I suppose that it couldn't hurt. Just trying to force my memories to come back hasn't worked. Even meditation hasn't done much. It really bothers me." And it annoyed her. It made her feel incomplete and at a disadvantage to those that knew her. Even complete strangers could trick her into thinking that they were her best friend and she'd be none-the-wiser. Thankfully that has yet to happen.

Well, if she didn't want to, it wasn't like he was going to make her do so. So when it was clear she was refusing his request, he would nod, shrugging his shoulders in turn as he would relax back in the chair and hold Jason gingerly in his arms as he let the sleeping child's head rest on his chest again. He wasn't offended or anything by [member="Lady Kay"] refusing, though he doubted the kid was going to bite. I mean, it was HIS kid! If he didn't bite her (Unless she wanted him to, but he only bit on request if it was [member="Shmi Labooda"] doing the asking, so he wouldn't actually bite now either) then it wasn't likely that the kid was going to bite either, after all.

"Well, it couldn't hurt to, you know, at least try" He would respond. "I mean, what's the worst that can happen while we go on a picnic? Someone tries to assassinate you - again?" He would joke, a small grin starting to cross his lips. "Granted, if someone tries, I'll just blow up a chopper and stop it... Again. You know, like last time. And I guess like that time some bounty hunter went after you and you were all "Josh come in, Josh I'm under attack, Josh halp!" He would crack, mimicking her voice at the end with a laugh. "Well, okay, I didn't blow up a chopper that second time. Though there were explosions. Good times... Good times. Geez, how long ago was that... Two, three years ago?"

He shook his head with a smirk.

"Either way... A family picnic could be really nice."

Kay just had to smirk at [member="Josh DragonsFlame"] . He sure had a sense of humour around him, although that wasn't a bad thing. Maybe that's what she had kept him around for. She just couldn't remember right now. However some of what he had said rang a bell. But maybe it was because she had many memories of being attacked and/or hunted down by bounty hunters.

"Alright then. How about in a few days time? Or is that too soon? The weather is supposed to be nice. At least in Chasin City it is."

"A few days will be fine. If the weather's good then, I'll convince Shmi to come visit and we'll go have a picnic then" He would respond with a smile in turn. He was happy, really, to get back in touch with Lady Kay... It was true, yeah, he was absolutely heartbroken that his friend had forgotten him... But he knew that he could work this back up again, he did.

"It's a date" He cracked, grinning cheekily.
