Discussion A New Star War

And if you do think I'm taking away or diminishing some grand war era ideas, consider this;

The reason you get longer bouts of Star Peace is because every time you do this, you erode the agency of individual Major Faction Owners, new and old. In addition to the very obvious burnout, they will wait around for "invasion season" or Great Hyperspace Wars, because they are all stuck in a paradox of looking to each other for permission to move "when the time is right".

Stop trying to emulate WW2. It can happen organically if you just act naturally and stop trying to get every MFO on board with the same vision.

Unfortunately I do not think we have reached the stage of the conflicts being interconnected enough to actually call it something like this yet. You pointed it out in your post, GA is fighting the GE and SO, the THR is fighting TBS, TIC will soon be fightig the SO, and Diarchy and Mandos as far as I know (though anyone over there feel free to correct me), have not begun their major war arcs yet.

The alliance connections like with the IRL Entente and Central powers just don't yet exist for the wars to all be merged, and not just coincidentally at this moment there be a lot of war.

Though in saying this, and I speak of this purely on the "cool" factor, without the precedent or context of what this board has been through in the past... I think straight up alliances between Majors would be really cool to forment that kind of Great Galactic War.
The Mandalorians currently are staying out of any wars. Acting more like a Mercenary faction. However, if someone were to attack the Mandalorians, then they are the ones waking a sleeping bear essentially.

However as much as I love the idea of another "great war" I think at this time its kind of stupid to do it. Like if people want to make a legit war and proclaim wars against someone, then just do it between two factions and let the narrative grow on its own. if other factions try to hop in on it to create more story then thats cool. But "Forcing" a war to start and make headway for no reason other than it being invasion season, is a dumb idea in my opinion.

That is how most wars started. Even the world wars. it was small "testing the waters" and then when they knew that they couldn't get away with it any longer, bam. Strike. (in the case of WWII) So setting up a war between just two factions and the other factions seeing the writing on the wall could start what you want, but it gives the opportunity for other factions to say "nah we got our war over here going on." Instead of just lumping all of the wars together.
