A New Event?

Do you want another board wide event soon?

So, after discussing matters with Libby and Tef we figured we'd put this question to the members. Staff pushing events hasn't worked out the best recently, so I figured I'd see if there was any demand for it. In my capacity as an Admin I will help out if asked, but I'll let anyone who wants to put a team together run the show.

So, the question is, are you interested in participating in a new event, and are you willing to help run it? If not, don't post or vote. We want to get some ideas happening, then let people go get them.

Don't volunteer for the administrative and organising side unless you actually intend to follow through.

Good luck.

(Also putting a vote in the first option so I can see results easily. Do not count it.)

I'd like to participate and help in anyway I can.

Warning: Would be more first time helping with an event. :)

Voted to Participate/Help Run. My testimonial to my capacity to assist in something like this would be, like, that one time on "the board that shall not be named" when I spent an entire Saturday reading that awful Dathomir Takeover thread and writing critical reviews regarding where the story was, where OOC communication broke down, the necessity of IC terms for takeover success, etc. I feel I am motivated and fair, and provided I have some back-up present to keep me from overthinking the plot, I'm sure I could handle the job.

That said, my real-life career can be turbulent at times, and my participation may have to, like, take a back seat depending on when the event actually gets underway.

Can there be a third option of : maybe?

I'd love to be involved in an event. I haven't done so since the Nanodroids and Roche. Only concern the past events have been difficult for the unaffiliated/minor factioners/NFUs as a whole. Its extremely difficult to include everyone, I know, but my overall feeling has been a little "meh" towards recent events. I voted yes because events are always awesome for the board as a whole and you get all sorts of interesting side-dramas happening and what not.

Now if we're talking plots, I'd love to see a new strain of the Gulag virus return. Perhaps in a weaponized form by one of our resident baddies.

Im down to help aid, did the same with Voracitos' recent Tournament, and kept things rolling nice and smooth.

Also, as an offer, I already have plans for an RP that may indeed reach an event scale, and thus could use these to aid.

I'll help run it, though if you toss me in, gimme a week or two of a head's up so I can wrap up threads and get my FL stuff sorted to be able to give it my time lol

I've actually really been wanting to get involved with an Event here, but the last one... I ended up getting very discouraged from participating for a few compounding reasons. I was just talking about events the other day and speaking about how I would like to see another one.

While I'd never have the time or energy to help organize an event, I'd like to speak my mind on what I would love to see come out of the next event.

A- Event tech makes people happy and brings all the writers to the yard.
B- Doing too much at once discourages writers from participating.
C- Provide cooperative and competitive areas for individuals and factions to commit themselves as they desire.
D- If there is a structured storyline that involves characters playing 'bad guys', make sure those characters/writers are in on the mechanics of the story.
E- Don't feed Popo after midnight.
F- If possible, structure the story to support struggling 'small' major factions.
(example)
Increased tensions between the Crusade and the Horde has prompted both sides to expand to the North and South as they seek to secure their borders. In the process, both factions have stumbled upon a new world on the fringe of the galaxy. This is a highly technological world full of wonder and mystery. Approaching this world from the edge of the solar system is a World Ship of unknown origin. Both factions are converging on the location in the hopes of securing religious and military assets, as well as protecting those assets from the faction that is... the polar opposite in religious beliefs. Both factions have petitioned their allies for assistance and word has spread to factions across the galaxy. Now it is a race against time as the powers of the galaxy converge on this far corner of the galaxy to secure an asset for themselves, protect the interests of an ally, or prevent a potential source of power from falling into the wrong hands.

G- Danger and Fabula in slave outfits.
Because reasons.

if the four of us put our heads together with [member="Valeria Aetani"] and [member="D-Man"] I am certain we can make something quite fun. Event tech isn't always needed but we could do it like Valen and have it at the end to see. Make one for fleeting be a part of it.

I enjoy fleeting, but it often puts an unfair focus on a few specialist writers/characters and can make the 'average joe' character/writer feel like they can't contribute. If event tech is going to be available, there should be an equal availability to non-fleeting characters/groups.
