Faction A Gathering

Alli Vern called all the power players so to speak of the Zweihander Union to meet. She was unsure of who that might be with many folding into the Eternal Empire or leaving entirely. So she attempted to arrange a meeting to find out who was still loyal to the cause. After her changes, The ZU was more Corporate than ever, bolstered by the fact that the Empress herself had fed the few companies that made up the corporate Council. Everything was new, Alli had been elected by the refugee's of the Zweihander Union and she had restructured it. Now everything reported to her, She had set up a Corporate Council to make sure she didn't alienate the companies that were crucial to the Union's survival. The fact that the Eternal Empire had made it so that any business that wanted to operate in its space had to go through either the Union or the Black Suns had made the companies that made up the Council even bigger. Forcing them to surrender large portions of their shares and control to the council if they were not big enough to join the council it self. So that left her with far too much work to do and she had to admit the Union had got away from her a bit. It was time to gather and see who would show up. She opened this up to members of the Corporate Defense force as well since their officers would need to be recognized as important. Now it was just time to see who showed up.

In the meeting room, the door slid open, and in walked Red. He wore his full armor, and he held his helmet underneath his left arm. Red looked around the room, scanning the room and the people inside of the room. Already here, he saw Alli Vern Alli Vern already waiting within the room. Red stood up straight, standing at attention, and saluted with his right hand. "Chancellor, ma'am. Red, reporting in." He said. Then, he dropped his salute, and moved to take a seat. Once he sat down, he placed his helmet on the table.

Red had been invited to this meeting since he was one of the few remaining members of the Zweihander Union's Defense Force. Since he was still under their jurisdiction, Red had elected to come and attend this meeting. He hadn't ever left the Union, every time he had operated in the Eternal Empire, he did so on behalf of the Zweihander Union.

"It's been a while, ma'am." Red said. "Good to see things are still kicking while I've been operating away. I must admit, this is a surprise. I was expecting another operation order, not a meeting."

"If you don't mind me asking, why was this meeting called?"
He asked the Chancellor.

"If you don't mind me asking, why was this meeting called?" He asked the Chancellor.

"Because opportunity is here, my new friend!"

Uriel entered the room swiftly, answering Subject 73 Red Subject 73 Red 's question with a joyous tone, and proceeded to bow to his superiors. Behind him trailed a baffled security guard, looking unsure as to who this young man was or whether he'd been invited at all.

Looking up from his bow at Chancellor Alli Vern Alli Vern , the newcomer smiled warmly.
"A real pleasure to finally meet you, m'lady. I'm Uriel Segboldt; Jonda's son," he explained, straightening his posture and walking to stand by the conference table. "He's quite distraught that he couldn't make it today; he fell ill while vacationing on Naboo. The man couldn't bear to holocall in and have you see him laid up with swampfever, so I'm here in his place."

He continued to smile, ignoring the guard who hadn't left the room. The security guard was clearly at a loss as to this interloper's confidence and youth, unsure whether he should simply accept this claim of being the heir to the Segboldt line, or politely point out that the Zweihander Union's Jonda Segboldt was definitely a human, and this young man was obviously a Chiss, and there was clearly something funny about all this, and maybe he ought to escort the friendly fellow out of the room, until he call Jonda and confirm.... this. Nervously, he glanced at the Nelvaanian Longsword hanging at Uriel's waist, and looked to Chancellor Vern for instruction, as the Chiss chatted a bit.

"So much growth and excitement since the partnership with the Empire went through! My family could not be more pleased. Certainly going to be a bit hectic in the transition," he laughed, and winked at Red, as if the commando knew exactly how tiresome these enormous corporate takeovers could be, "but my family is thrilled about the Union's future moving forward." He beamed across the conference table. "As always, we are at your service m'lady." Standing behind an empty chair at the table, Uriel made no move to sit. Instead he waited comfortably for permission to join the conference.

"Yes as our friend Uriel pointed out, Opportunity is here. The Empire came to our rescue and bought the time for my ships to rescue as many citizens as wanted to come with us and flee the chaos of former ZU space. Since then we have gone from Refugees to ruling over our own area of space within the Empire and taking over most of the official business inside of the Eternal Empire. We have brought progress and revolution to the Empire's Business and Industrial sectors. Now its time to flex our muscles, start providing more of the EE's equipment. Be there at more of their engagements with our Corporate Defense Force. Expand to be a real force in the galaxy again. However to do that I need to know who I can count on. Which is why I called you here to this meeting. "

Alli waved off the guard and gestured for Uriel to sit as refreshments were served by nearby droids.
"I am sorry to hear about your father, I wasn't aware he had adopted an son. " She used her implant to send a query to the relevant databases to clarify if the man's claims were true, either way he was here now and that meant it wasn't just her and Red. It seemed she had overestimated how many people would show up. it was turning out to be a real no show. "I was hoping for more to show up honestly, it seems I need to focus on recruitment. and trim the privilege's on those who didn't bother to show."

"By those who didn't show Alli I will assume you were not talking about me…" A playful chuckle echoed from one of the entrances of the room. Charles large form stopped in the door and leaned against its frame as he looked around at the people who had shown. He had been taking care of some business in regard to the Tomb Fleets new roles within the 'Corporate Fleet'. A gentle reminder by Tranquility was all that it took to remedy the situation, and as such the Admiral's tardiness was barely noticeable,

"By all means Alli do not stop on my account, you were mentioning something about the Corporate Defense Force. Well, you will be happy to know that the Tomb Fleet has settled into its place as protecting our 'business assets' as well as convoy duties. As for 13[SUP]th[/SUP] Division, well I have expanded their training to work in smaller teams on our supplies vessels to protect them from anyone who might board them." As he spoke Charles made his way over to one of the free chairs at the table, specifically one that had an empty seat beside it.

Reaching into his pocket he pulled out the spider droid he normally carried with him… which could transmit a hologram of Tranquilities facsimile. Placing it into the chair, the man knew that the act was a bit pointless in regard to having her 'attend the meeting'. She was an A.I. and could attend simply by watching through cameras and such. Recently though he had been trying to encourage her to appear in either her holographic or droid form at such functions. As he believed a physical presence reinforced that she was more than just the average A.I… then again he was a bit biased and part of it was the fact that he enjoyed having her around,

"So with that being said… what is our next move to secure a place for our people? I would move forward with caution on this front. When you say you want to expand to be a real force in the galaxy again… I assume that we will be doing this under Enteral Empires flag correct?" They had already run from one home to another, and Charles had no desire to put his people through such a thing again. They had lost too much already…
