ROLE-PLAYS:

CHILDHOOD & PARENTS
Caught as a child in the havoc of the Chiss Ascendency's fall from grace, the boy was taken in by the Segboldt family and gifted the name Uriel. His new parents were fascinated by Chiss culture, and legends of the Ascendency's stunning tactics and prowess. Taken in as a curiosity, over time he grew in their hearts to become their son.

Jonda Segboldt had long been a proponent and instrument of the Zweihander Union. As their representative, he worked as a liaison to help bring auspicious talent into the corporate fold, such as Arms Dynamic, Tanlab Industries, Locke and Key, and many others. A master negotiator and people pleaser, the private and public sectors were child's play to him. He was a human with a great love and appreciation for the many exotic luxuries and beautiful things the galaxy had to offer. Of all of these, his wife Remaree was his most cherished prize. She was a rare jewel; a half-Echani, half-Tygerii belle. Raised as nobility, she was delighted to find in Jonda a wealthy aristocrat who found marrying for love just as silly as she did.

Given that Remaree was a hybrid, and Jonda of a third species, the couple decided siring biological children could pose a risk to Remaree's health and the baby's. Still wanting to start a family, they set out into the Galaxy as if it were an art gallery, looking for something unique and stunning that would make their home even more exquisite. Among the tired and lost refugees of Csilla, they found their prize, and renamed him Uriel.

In his youth, Uriel was trained in martial tradition less as a trade and more as a pastime and art. His parents were very fond of mildly appropriating Chiss culture and tradition, but had no real military career planned for the boy; only a vaguely militaristic background, to aid in his rise within the Zwiehander Union and the Eternal Empire. They had his entire life planned out for him nearly before they'd even adopted him. But fate, and Uriel himself, had other plans. Grander, and far more perilous.
