A Blaze in the Endor Sky [First Order Dominion of Endor Hex]

The First Order assault had been timed perfectly.

It would be nightfall on the part of the planet Endor where the shield generator was located, all by design to catch the Ssi-Ruuk by surprise. The shield generator protected the Ssi-Ruuk flagship, but to Supreme Commander Ludolf Vaas, destroying the alien flagship would only be the icing on the cake. He was determined to destroy the rest of their fleet regardless.

"Coming out of hyperspace in t-minus sixty seconds," Ludolf's assistant lieutenant sounded off next to him aboard the Resurgent-class Vader.

"These alien scum have haunted our worlds for far too long," Ludolf thought, at first to himself, before he realized he was speaking aloud.

The First Order had been tested by their first worthy adversary since the Galactic Alliance, so many years ago. They had been put on their back foot by the Ssi-Ruu and their unexpected invasion, as the saurian race had run roughshod across First Order space. They were to be the first victim in what was to ultimately be a galactic conquest by the reptilian species. But for all the ways the First Order had not expected their unprovoked assault, the Ssi-Ruuk had not foreseen the fierce resistance of the First Order. The flame of humanity still burned brighter than ever within the populace of the First Order, and the population had risen up to throw everything the had into the war effort. They had driven the Ssi-Ruu back... and now they were about to embark on an assault of their own.

It would all end here, over the skies of Endor. Supreme Commander Vaas could think of no better symbolic place for the First Order to make their triumphant final stand.

"Exiting hyperspace now!"

Meanwhile, the idle Ssi-Ruuk fleet on the dark side of Endor would suddenly see their radar screens light up like a star chart. The wall of First Order ships appeared before them suddenly in an attack position. Even from below, in the calm forests of Endor, the creatures who gazed upwards beyond the trees near the shield generator would be able to see the firmament come to life with ships, and soon, turbolaser fire.

Aboard the Ssi-Ruuk flagship, a nervous saurian called out. "Admiral Viraakk... Admiral! We have a problem..."

The surviving Royal Army finds themselves fighting a two-front war against the insurgents and the Ssi-Ruuk invaders, and are in desperate need of relief. Bunduki had always been a fiercely independent and proud world, even when brought under the yoke of so many greater galactic powers across the eons. They had always seen themselves separate, not conjoined, with their sister planet Panatha at the center of the Pacanth Reach. Those ancient colonists who subjugated the world during the Clone Wars had sought to escape from the authority of their homeworld and carve out their own existence among the stars. However; nothing could keep separate them from their ties to their homeworld, and no matter how hard they fought or how hard they protested, their will was subservient to that of Panatha. In the modern era there had been two attempts at independence from the crownworld, once during the ascension of King Zambrano almost twenty years ago, and again when the One Sith Empire sought to extend its dominion to the Reach.

But the One Sith are gone, and the First Imperial Order encroaches upon the Reach.

And they are not alone.

From the lightless recesses beyond the edge of the known galaxy came the Ssi-Ruuk, Saurian invaders whom the Fringe Confederacy had once quelled during their expansionist era, but in their absence the Ssi-Ruuk had become emboldened and sought to stretch their domain in a manner similar to the Fringe's. They had already clashed with the Imperial Order elsewhere in the Outer Rim, but now they've anchored their massive starfleet at Endor to strike at the heart of the nascent Imperial regime. Fearing that the Imperalistic monarchy in the Reach would ally with the Order, the Ssi-Ruuk launched a preemptive strike against the Epicanthix in hopes for a swift and decisive victory.

But even without the patronage of a major galactic power the Epicanthix were no push-overs, and with their connections to Santhe/Sienar they had constructed a formidable defense flotilla around their worlds to protect themselves from exterior invaders. Early warning signals had been transmitted to the Panathan Starfleet in orbit above Panatha, Bunduki, and Fornow, and they in turn assumed more organized defensive positions right as the Ssi-Ruuk fleets materialized in the systems. It would've been simple to repel them from the entire Reach, but coinciding with their attack from space came a slave uprising on Fornow and a more organized revolt on Bunduki from the deposed nobility who had chaffed under the God-King's regime and yearned for freedom.

In response to this flareup on Bunduki, the God-King himself has led the charge to quell the treacherous dissidents aboard his flagship the Ruination. They would pierce through the invading Ssi-Ruuk fleet, and make planetside to unleash the God-King's fury upon any and all who would oppose his rule.

War finally reared its ugly head in the Pacanth Reach.

Fornow was the slave capital of the Pacanth Reach and homeworld of the graug Iron Horde that faithfully served the God-King zealously enforcing his word and will. Fornow where the skies were blackened with smoke from billowing smokestacks that rose like daggers in the sky from the countless factories, forges, and foundries that sat both above and below ground across the surface. Fornow where many hundreds of thousands of slaves lived and worked under the watchful eye of their graug masters, and where many thousands more were brought in every day. There were no rights, no healthy working conditions, no kindness. According to the law of the Dual Monarchy these filthy slaves were considered 'equipment' or 'products' owned by the crown. They had no rights and the graug spared no expense in ensuring every waking moment was a torrent of misery.

If the light ever breached the atmosphere of Fornow not even the most astute of Jedi Masters could feel its remains for the dark side pushed it out long ago. The dark side hung over Fornow like a sickening fog choking out the light like a ravenous, bloated beast feeding off all the death, pain, despair, hatred, and misery that generated from the vast cavernous mines and tunnels where slaves constantly toiled. Anyone gifted in the force or not could feel the aura of hopelessness that permeated this land. Whether it was the massive watchtowers carrying massive repeating cannons or the towering glycons equipped with a myriad of savage weapons that stomped across the landscape, or even the massive citadels whose shadows slaves often worked in such as the Underhold that held both above and below ground complexes, loaded with a vast armory of weaponry and defenses to repel any invader.

The power of hope could never shine through the darkness of the Black-Iron Tyrant.

Until they came.

Saurian invaders, hulking lizardfolk from the stars descended upon the slave world. Their dropships filling the skies like an angry hive of insects bringing death and destruction to the brutish tyrants. But it was this solitary act by these savage raiders that punched a hole in the darkness. While it was a small hole it was just enough to let hope shine through breathing life into the hopeless. Where once remained tired muscles, aching broken bones, and malnourished organs was now strong muscles and bodies filled with vigor, passion. Hope was a sickness that spread like wildfire through these tunnels and slave quarters vastly overcrowded. Once more the breath of life and passion flowed in the veins of slaves some whom had served far too under the rule of Kaine Zambrano and his dark coven. They took up hammers, mining picks, various mining lasers and other industrial equipment and in one defiant roar said no more descending upon their overlords.

The Iron Horde had dealt with many slave rebellions and insurrections before and most were crushed swiftly and harshly. The graug after all had numbers and plenty of warriors and other advantages to keep these uncoordinated slaves down. But they never experienced anything of this magnitude before. The rumble down under spilled to the surface as these vengeful slaves moved like a flood, descending on these armed guards tearing them apart in bloody displays. It was a two front war that wedged the Iron Horde between the Ssi-Ruuk invaders, and the armed slaves. But the graug were a strong, powerful, and stubborn people. They fought tooth and nail at every turn determined to crush all enemies of the crown, or die trying. But even the infamous Warchief Malgrog gave in to reason and his better judgement seeing the tides slowly but surely turning.

Finally the powerful warlord gave in and said just three words that changed everything "Make the call".

A large flotilla of warships descended upon Fornow then all bearing the sigils of the royalist navy. But it was the Immortal-Class Dreadnaught that moved at its apex, its hull bearing markings of the 'Harbinger'. While the flotilla of star destroyers and ships engaged the elements of this saurian navy, the hangars opened up and from within belched a vast hive of troop transports and swarms of fighters. This vast force moved as one carrying the faithful warriors of the Royal Army with their black armor and golden cloaks. But an large portion of these transport broke off from the main force, a portion that descended directly from the Harbingger itself. These ships descended upon the Blood Pits, a vast series of mining tunnels honeycombed beneath the surface where treatment made it akin to a death camp rather than a mine suited for work. It was here in closer proximity to the Underhold that the rebellion was thickest and the slaves fought with more vigor and carried more advanced graug weapons of war.

The graug in this area were barely holding the vast hordes back especially with a bulk of the areas forces relocated to face the encroaching ssi-ruuk threat descending upon the Underhold, capital and chief fortress of Fornow. These slaves were led by a jedi known only as Viyers or "Saviour" who coordinated their assaults, quickly becoming a chief leader in this planetwide rebellion. The forces of Viyers were just about to break through the once impenetrable lines of the graug.

When they came.

As these transports landed descending out of them weren't the golden cloaks and black armored uniforms of the Royal Army. Out from the transports descended a force with armor utterly black like the pits of the abyss. A silent force operating as a singular unit with elite training, equipment, and an infamous reputation as the Butcher-Kings men. The very mention of these barbarious butchers who had the blood of millions from innumerable genocides of the innocent, their armor stained thick with the blood of mandalorians and jedi alike. These were the Blackblade Guard. Their iron will and unwavering loyalty to the God-King even in the face of death was the stuff of legends. From within their ranks came a hailstone of blaster fire while the front forces carried vast energy shields, blades and pikes to throw back the hordes of slaves that pushed against the encroaching forces.

But just as the blackblades descended these warriors stopped and like the sea parting the front rank split down the middle to reveal a path and there one man, one Dark Titan stood. This goliath wore a set of wicked dark plate battle scars covering the shining plate while a navy blue tabard hung past his legs bearing the phoenix sigil of House Zambrano. This man said nothing to the attacking slaves who stopped to analyze precisely what was going on, his only message to them was the metalling sound of a drawing blade as he charged at these invaders. This man was Darth Prazutis, Crown Prince of the Pacanth Reach. As the two forces collided the goliath carved a path of death and ruin through their ranks, crimson blasts of lightning charring skin black while billowing clouds of smog robbed his unfortunate victims of their very life essence.

The graug called for help, for reinforcements in their fight and House Zambrano answered with rage. Slowly but surely the battle that nearly pushed the graug from their tunnel defenses turned to the defenders as the Butcher-Kings heir carved through the shambling horde of slaves. But this, this was just the beginning. There was a price for rebellion, a price for defiance and all of Fornow would suffer the consequences that these saurian raiders brought upon them.

"Can anyone please tell me why we are creating an Ewok reserve?" Virginie asked Dunames, before landing near the Bright Tree Village.

"The Ssi-Ruuk have shown no desire in keeping them alive"

"What should we do?"

"Stay alert: Ewoks can lay traps for eating people"

While the space battle raged outside, she'd better modify the transponder for it not to show that Star Tours was a First Order-based company. That way she can avoid being hit in the crossfire. Oh and turning the weapons offline was the right thing to do, even if it was just a Neimoidian Yacht with a quad-laser. As they began to make the descent towards Endor's moon, Dunames hoped that the revival of the Endor Express wouldn't prove to be a repeat of what happened on Hoth even though its ancestral incarnation promised patrons to come spend an afternoon or the entire day with the lovable Ewoks in their charming tribal villages. But this is an opportunity to die for: Ewok therapists were a favorite in First Order-land, and, while their methods of therapy are a little unorthodox, at least to the more scientifically-oriented among them. Yet the original Endor Express wasn't about therapy, not at all.

the minute they came out of hyperspace, she lieutenant sara lee jones, had bolt flight immediately start preparing, the klaxons sounding all around them as she suited up helmet slapped on suit sealed before they ran towards those awaiting ties, this would be her first mission back after getting the new cybernetic"alright folks get in those ties wait for orders to launch ground crew check those guns i want them ready"she said as she jumped into hers...was she excited...oh yeah...she had been dying to grt into the seat of her fighter again, she started flipping the switching she needed to before she watched everything link up to her as she gave a smile watching everything come green

she flipped quickly and sent word to [member="Ludolf Vaas"] that bolt flight was ready to take off along side the other flights and pilots

Objective: 5 - To Rattatak!

"Chiyo."

Even as he looked up, the boy kicked his head back in order to flip the fringe of violet hair from out of his eyes. It was still his first week at the junior academy, third period social studies, the room hushed as the students were independently reading assigned portions of the history of the First Order's emergence from out of a corrupt Republic. Framed in the doorway was one of the protocol droids. Glancing over at his teacher, the child rose after receiving the nod.

The droid dropped the name the moment the two had stepped out into the hall.

"Mister Zsasz asked to speak with you."

Even the name gave him the willies, an involuntary shiver tracing an uncomfortable path up his spine as gooseflesh rose along his arms. Zsasz, the Pau'an librarian he'd met his first day here. Boo didn't know why, but he'd walked away from the brief encounter with a strange feeling. A bad feeling.

There was just something... odd about that guy.

"Ah, the Pantoran."

Zsasz was a gaunt, spindly figure. He loomed over the pre-teen boy. His bony, elongated, clawed hands larger than the size of the child's head. His sunken eyes rested deep within pockets of red flesh, the angular lines making it appear as though the Pau'an had tears of blood running down either side of his face. As he smiled in greeting, all the boy saw was a maw of jagged, serrated teeth.

Zsasz was a predator.

Closing the holojournal before him, the Nosferatu-like alien folded his hands down on the desk top. "How are you enjoying your classes?" the man inquired.

There was no invitation to sit. The boy's amber eyes catching sight of a singular chair in the room from out of the corner of his eye. Shifting his gaze forward, the boy mulled the question over a bit. That was it? He'd called him here to ask him that?

Why?

What could he gain from the answer? "Okay..." the boy answered, adopting a non-committal tone as he looked away, his eyes peering around the inside of the room. "...I guess?" he added, a lackadaisical shrug accentuating the confusion in his voice.

"Do you have to guess?"

The question, or rather some strange feeling, prompted the boy to turn his head sharply -- as though expecting Zsasz was right beside him. He wasn't. He was still behind the desk, yet, for a moment, the presence in the room... or... had it been more like a voice?

"Finding the reading difficult?" the man asked, pointedly.

Taking a step back, the boy positioned his body so that he was once again facing toward the Pau'an. His composure slipped, just a moment, allowing the frustration to show through on his face. "It's fine," the boy uttered flatly.

He'd been a slave, not a school kid. His reading comprehension was behind, but [member="Irajah Ven"] was helping him with his homework. So, at least at home, it wasn't terrible. When he was here, however...

"I'm sure it is," Zsasz remarked dryly. Clearly, the man was unimpressed. Pushing his chair back, the lanky Pau'an came out from around the desk to stand in front of the boy. "You know, it occurred to me, you're at a bit of a disadvantage," he offered, hunched over as he spoke down to a boy who was shorter than he by nearly a whole meter. "Your classmates have experienced the Imperial Academy for years, but you... You're jumping in about five years behind everyone else. So, what if there was a way you could catch up? Experience more of what it's like to be part of the First Order?"

Reaching back to his desk, the man's hand ducked into a drawer and then returned, a moment later, with a flimsaplast brochure, which he held out toward the blue-skinned youth. "There's a small continent going to Rattatak to represent the First Order in some local, cultural games..."

The way he took the offered tract from the Pau'an, you'd have thought that the man was offering him a dead rat. The boy's face moved through a series of expressions -- skepticism chief among them -- as his amber eyes stared back at the haunting alien above him. "Games?"

"Olympics, if you will," Zsasz clarified, before picking up a sheet of loub-paper that was printed with a lot of Aurabesh across it. "You'll have an opportunity to observe the workings of the First Order's military and diplomatic teams up close," the man opined, offering the unsolicited advice with another nightmare smile. "Consider it something of a... summer camp."

If the brochure had been a dead rat, now the boy accepted the slip of paper with somewhat more willingness. There was a spark of curiosity there. A sense of adventure that was smoldering somewhere in the dark recesses of a child's imagination. "What's this?" the boy asked, with all the smugness of a Corellian gambler who had just asked what's the catch.

The Pau'an held up his bat-like hands in what may have been intended as an innocuous gesture. "Just a permission slip for your... guardian."

So these were for the Irajah, not for him. That made sense. She'd be reading them for him anyway.

"You'll need to have them signed tonight. You'll leave tomorrow, aboard the Concordia," the Pau'an added, two spindly fingers grasping the flimsaplast tract and turning it over so that he could tap a hooked claw to indicate a set of coordinates. "Instructions for boarding the ship are located here."

The boy stood there a moment, glancing between the two documents in his hands.

Something still... just wasn't quite right about this.

"Dismissed, Cadet."

The child's gilded gaze flicked up, staring into the sunken, bloodshot wells of the Pau'an's eyes, and challenging the man wordlessly to hold that gaze a moment. Then, silently, the Pantoran merely turned and stepped out of the room.

When the door had shut behind the child, the Pau'an raised his left arm up. As the sleeve slipped back along the forearm, a concealed wristlink was revealed.

"This is the Third Librarian. We are proceeding as planned with Candidate One-Three-Seven."

Her eyes were looking at the small display. There was a large fleet in orbit that the First Order was going against. Her eyes looking out while she had been here recently with her master Isla for her crystal to the disc saber. The long white hair covering most of her upper body while the hover chair was going and under the cloth her fingers were nimbly workign the controls. To keep her moving and prepared when making way towards the ship to take her down to the planet. Her master she was hoping would join her again as they seemed to work well together and this was an important quest as it were. An important goal for any of them but as she touched the discblade on her lap and was finishing with the guide wires the Sarkhai's eyes went up to stare unblinkingly towards the soldiers who were taking them down to the planet.

Endor... Kyrel had studied,and knew all about the planet as long as he could remember. The planet was the beginning of the end,for the Old Empire eight centuries ago. Now the First Order had arrived to reclaim the planet,on it's slow,but steady return to one day rule the galaxy. As a Disciple of Ren,he had accompanied the Resurgant Class Star Destroyer Vader to the world. He did not come to help them in there fight against a bunch of Reptiles,no he had come on his own mission. The Order of Ren wanted to recover Vader's Armor that remained on the planet below. Kyrel viewed that this was an oppurtunity he could not pass. Having a long standing obsession for the former Dark Lord,and had often considered himself 'Vader Reborn' This was his mission. This mission is the one he had waited for all his life,and hoped to complete it.

He moved in a brisk stride to the hanger. Taking his signature Theta Class shuttle with him,and a squad of Stormtroopers with him. The troopers did not question him,merely just accompanying him on his mission. The shuttle slowly went outside of the hanger,and descended rapidly down to the surface. In the cover of night. Avoiding any detection it zoomed straight towards the coordinates that was given to Kyrel. The shuttle descended slowly upon reaching it's destination. Landing in a clear spot of the forest. Kyrel activated the landing cycle,with the ramp descending to the surface. When the process was completed Kyrel stepped out first,with the stormtroopers following in two's. From the data of his Red Photoreceptors he knew it was night,and so the cover of darkness would make it easier to reach their objective. None of the enemy forces would bother him as they were too far to worry about him. What he did have to worry about was the wildlife such as meddlesome Ewoks.

Scouting around to see if he could be wrong about the enemy being anywhere near him. He assumed after a few minutes of searching,and the data that fed into his suit that there was no threat,for now at least. The Stormtrooper squad commander than looked at Kyrel,and spoke inquisitively. "Sir,may i ask why are we here instead of the battle." Kyrel than glared at him,and a moment later replied knowingly.
"We are here Commander to recover something very valuable to the Order of Ren. I need to accomplish this,and that is why i may need your help. Our objective is in a cave not too far from here,and what lies in that cave is a Gorax." The commander just stared at Kyrel for a minute,and replied a bit fearful. "But Sir...A Gorax,How in the Emperor's black bones are we going to get past that?" Kyrel replied coldly,slowly walking forward. The weight of his suit slowly dragging him down,and made him felt as if he was being pulled by the very ground itself. "Do not worry,leave that to me. Now come the cave is just up ahead." The commander merely nodded trusting in the Ren's words,and shouted hastily. "Alright men you heard him move out."

The rest of the stormtroopers followed Kyrel slowly,but made sure to watch their surroundings. Kyrel was moving at a slow pace his armor was still tough getting used to it. The night was quiet,and it was filled with the sounds of crickets and other nocturnal creatures. The men remained on their guard having no idea if their was a threat out there. Their night vision filtering out the darkness to get a better view of their surroundings,and watch for any potential threats. Kyrel on the other hand was unconcerned his main objective was that armor. Already feeling it's dark imprint left on the force. He kept walking purposely seeing the dark cave through his red vision lied just ahead of him.

Dozens, if not hundreds, of ships had appeared as if from nowhere, poised to attack the reptiles who had dared attack the people and worlds of the First Order. Even now, they occupied a world that was, for all intents and purposes, a holy site to the Imperium. It had been here, a thousand years past, that the Empire had met it's downfall. The second death star had been destroyed, taking with it many of the best and brightest of the time, and in their place grew decadence, corruption, and rebellion. It had been here that the Emperor and Vader had died. Perhaps it was fitting then, that the final victory of human over beast would take place on the planet below and in space above.

Karl von Keldor stood on the command deck of the Challenger, watching as the fleet reverted into realspace all around his ship. His was just one of dozens, if not hundreds, of vessels assembled for the attack, and yet the Commander could hardly have been more proud of his position, commanding one of the ships that would be victorious this day. The crew were in high spirits as well, and it showed.

"Captain, all stations report ready. We await your orders."

He nodded.

"Once the Supreme Commander gives the order to attack, we will. Shields up, set to double front, and pre-register targets. Let's start with something our size..."

He perused the tactical display, picking out a reptilian ship that looked similar in size to the cruiser he commanded. "There," He sent the ship to the gunnery officer's stations. "That will be our first catch of the day..."

The Resurgent-class Star Destroyer Admonitor left hyperspace in perfect synchronization with the rest of Death Squadron, and by extension the First Order fleet. The timing was the greatest they could manage, as the Supreme Commander had promised, not even a second after the first ship arrive did the rest, ready to catch their enemy unawares. Admiral Graf smirked at this idea, those damned lizards had figuratively caught the First Order with its pants down with the concurrent invasions of Virgilia and Skye. The old man took another sip of tea, perfectly heated to sixty-eight degrees Celsius, and began issuing orders.

He had a brilliant plan; For this battle Death Squadron would serve as the spearhead of the assault, charging in and drawing fire while the rest of the fleet, including their assault star destroyers and battle cruisers would swoop in and destroy the Ssi-Ruuvi fleet while they were distracted with the admiral's ships. He had a secondary contingency should the frontal assault fail, a secondary squadron was waiting outside of the Endor system and when they received the signal they would jump in under the Ssi-Ruuvi fleet and tear them to shreds. Graf hoped he wouldn't use that, it was their only last resort and naval resources were already thin after assigning more ships to defend First Order controlled territories.

"Alert the captains and commanders that we're moving out as a soon as possible. Have all turbolasers and shields fully powered, and make sure fighters are ready to launch at a moments notice." Graf barked to the comm officer. Death Squadron was filled with four naval lines, each commanded by a captain, or in Graf's special case, a commander. He had handpicked two commanders that were excellent candidates for the squadron, [member="Aran Piett"] and [member="Erich Arnstein"], both having proved themselves in his presence.

"The rest of the squadron is ready, admiral." The officer reported, "Give the order, we're beginning the attack.". Graf stood up and strolled to the viewports, much to the surprise of the crew he wasn't looking in the enemy's direction, instead gazing upon the remnants of the long destroyed Imperial superweapon that had been littering the system for centuries. But little did they know, he had be given the task of retrieving a few key items from the salvage of the mighty Death Star II...

Again, the warriors of the First Order were called again. This time to strike out at those that had wronged the Imperials. The Ssi-Ruuvi Imperium was the target of revenge on this day. The soldiers of the White Wolves were ready, along with the additional Stormtroopers that were accompanying them on this day. The Typhojem would be revealed on that day, to the rest of the First Order's Navy and those enemies who happened to be watching Endor.

Advanced shields, an upgraded hyperdrive system, and Chiss technology that was discovered only part way through the construction of the warship.

Tens of thousands of Stormtroopers lined its halls. All of them were ready, or at least appeared to in their crisp, ghostly pale armour. Once they had donned their helmets and put on those plates of plastoid and duraplast, they were no longer 'So-And-So,' or, 'Who Gives A Kark?' They were the face of the First Order, of the Empire. After placing those helmets onto their heads, they became one. There were no differences in armour between those of the White Wolves, and those of the other Legions.

Uniform.

A single image of power.

"General Graush," the voice of his Captain said. A man, or rather, another limb of the Order who had showcased his loyalty and had dedicated his skills to the cause of the First Order on Skye in the first engagement with the Ssi-Ruuvi. His insides turned at the thought of the man's blind loyalty to the First Order. "The ships are ready. Death Squadron has begun the assault." A'sharad turned his head to look upon the helmeted figure of the Captain, to which he replied with a toothy smile. "Deploy the shuttles. The shield generator is the target."

The Subjugator lurched out of hyperspace with the rest of the fleet. All systems checked out. Aran looked out to the blackness of space, an the forest moon of Endor, where eight centuries ago, his ancestor met his demise. This was both a somber, as well as emotional moment for the young commander. Aran could see parts of the Death Star II as well as parts of the Executor. All he could do was wish there was a way he could maybe get a piece of that starship, though what he would do with it he was unsure. ​

"XO alert all commands in our line to ready battle stations, and await orders from Admiral Graf."​

"Yes Sir."​

​

Just like that, crewmen on the Subjugator started to hustle around to their stations. Aran still just stood at the front of the bridge looking at the wreckage. It wasn't clear to most, bar the XO and CoB, why he was just looking and not being more attentive to all the things the crew were up to, but one thing the crew knew is he trusted them to where he didn't have to manage the bridge staff. The XO Lieutenant Halsey, and the Chief of the Boat (CoB) walked up to Aran to pick his thoughts as to how he felt about being so close to the final resting place of his ancestor Firmus Piett. It was the Lieutenant that spoke up first.​

"Sir, I know this is sombering for you, and it is alright if you need a moment, me and Chief Rennic can handle tasks if you need a moment."​

"Thank you Lieutenant, it is just this place is something of a curse for my family, most don't talk or have even been here. I believe I'm the first since he was killed here.​

"I understand Sir. Just let me or Chief know if you need anything."​

​

"I will Lieutenant."​

The Chief and Lieutenant Halsey, walked back to their stations and went about making sure the ship was ready for combat. Aran started to talk towards the wreckage, quietly so no one was to hear him.​

"Well this is it, the family is back here, what is it you want me to do now? Why do I have this sense of dread? What would you do in this situation? Please show me something" ​

Aran knew Firmus couldn't answer, nor were either he nor Firmus force sensitive as far as he knew, but still talking to his ancestor, made Aran feel a bit more comfortable being here, he felt not things would work out. Being here made Aran think that maybe this was a sign that he would rise through the ranks of the First Order and become like his ancestor, maybe not a Fleet Admiral, but an Admiral. He could only hope, as much as Aran loved his current command, his dream was always wanting a Star Destroyer. There was still some being built without names and he had hoped to get one so he could name it something close to his family. But yet, this was a future dream, he needed to get his mind out of the future, and back to the task at hand. That being the Ssi-Ruuvi fleet over Endor, the wounds from his engagement over Virgilia were still fresh with him. Aran could remember the names of the fellow ship captains he lost in that skirmish. It wasn't a mistake he would make this time, nor would he allow the Ssi-Ruuvi get away with it.​

It was completely understandable why the order of Ren wished to recover this feared relic, distinctive enough for every sentient to immediately recognize it’d been worn by the greatest executioner of the First Galactic Empire’s law. As Palpatine’s heritage, grandsons in a way, it would be a great victory for them and the entire First Order to seize Darth Vader’s legendary armoured suit surrounded with numerous legends and tales. Its symbolic value aside though – Darth Veles only desired to better understand the faithless dark arts used to turn Vader into such a fearsome figure, study Palpatine’s influence eternally burned into his apprentice’s bane. That alone gave Veles more than enough reason to withdraw from the ongoing conflict and visit Endor. His endless hunt for knowledge and power would undoubtedly kill him one day – unless he unlocked the most unnatural of techniques.

Part of him regretted not seeing the war to the end, never happy to leave something unfinished. On the other hand, there was no telling what would happen once the Ren acquired their newest discovery – without any official authority, Veles doubted the possibility of researching Vader’s armour should the knights find it before him. As such, forced to act, the assassin’s ship touched Endor’s soil on a suitable clearing and unleashed its occupant with a menacing hiss before the ramp slammed the forest moon’s floor, sending an audible thud in all directions. Did someone hear? Veles internally smiled as the thought of encountering wild Ewoks crossed his mind when he marched down and inhaled Endor’s air, blending into the forest’s camouflage thanks to the mastery over light. Despite so many books claiming otherwise, he still refused to believe Sidious’ finest fell to some fluffy savages who did not even speak Basic.

Only the saurian Ssi-Ruuk posed a credible threat to his mission. Natural hunters, more than a match for the amphibious Sith who once more tested his training against their skills.

Slow and methodical, the Mon Cal’s advance nevertheless displayed a hunting predator, careful enough to acknowledge the planet’s dangers, able to become a soundless shadow and fully disappear into the obsidian canvas. Both orange eyes took in every single detail despite the night’s attempts to obscure them, excellent eyesight working in unison with cybernetics. An automated process by now, just as meticulously distributing his weight with each step forward and exercising immense restraint to temper this lust for power and knowledge. One hand gently held a masterfully crafted lightsaber hilt, albeit unignited, with his thumb threateningly hovering above the activation stud. The weapon’s twin dangled on Veles’ belt for everyone to see, as the Sith Lord had abandoned his cloak back in the ship to allow for easier travel through the forest.

Unlike the Ren, he did not know his desired artifact’s exact location, prompting him to resort to Sith magic. Six drops of his own blood fell from his freshly cut hand following a silent mutter of an incantation. Already strong and now further empowered by war, the dark side heeded his call, granting Veles a crimson pointer to follow.

"This.... is..... good!"

Irajah looked up from the permission slip. They were sitting at the small table in the kitchenette. It had been a long day at the medical center and she was exhausted. On the way home, she'd picked up take-out (some sort of Mon Calamari fusion place, she didn't recognize any of it, but it was good) for the two of them. While eating directly out of the small cartons, [member="Boo Chiyo"] had produced the flimsy and pushed it across to her wordlessly.

"So it's a.... field trip to watch the diplomatic corp in action? Sounds interesting!"

She kept her face cheerful, but something was bothering her. Something deep in her core was.... uncomfortable. She couldn't have told anyone why, but she did not want Boo to go on this field trip. Which was crazy. It seemed like a great opportunity. There was nothing about what the slip said that should make her nervous. And yet....

"Do- do you want to go?"

This was probably normal. Boo *wasn't* her son or anything like that. But the last few weeks had cemented not just a fierce protectiveness of the Pantoran boy, but also affection. This was a great opportunity for Boo.

So why did she want to tear up the flimsy and pack up everything they owned?

She steeled herself, actually physically shaking her head. This was ridiculous. It was a school trip. He'd be fiiiiiiine.

"If you want to go, of course I'll sign it."

Ashen Ren moved down the corridor towards the hangar, the hem of her dark cloak sweeping along the floor behind her. A few crewmen passed in the opposite direction, their eyes drawn to the marks on her left cheek. Her gloved hand rose slightly, fingers automatically glazed over the surface of the new scars. The angry red color had long since faded, leaving behind three scratch marks. She remembered the claws that had given her this scar. After all, that night was not so long in the past.

There was a sense of pride within, knowing that the might of the First Order had come to meet the Ssi-Ruuk forces. Isla had seen them first-hand during the battle at the Bastion. She understood that they were formidable fighters, but today she was confident that they would fall. Today, Isla would not be joining the forces on the ground to eliminate the reptilian species. Though, there was more than a small part of her that wished to make her revenge, her task would take her elsewhere.

She rounded the corner into the hangar, immediately catching sight of the young Sarkhai in the hover chair. Isla approached and offered a nod and a brief smile to Misha Ren as they boarded the small transport. Indeed, this would be a good opportunity for her apprentice to prove herself.

"Take us down," Isla nodded to the pilot.

No doubt, there would be other Ren attempting to carry out the same mission. If they worked together, they would succeed. After taking her seat, she turned to Misha.

"Well, this should be interesting." She grinned.

Gorax Cave

An Ewok waddled through familiar forests. He stretched out, seeking some semblance of his kind.

He felt the presence of those cold saurians, here on the dark side of the moon.

Warok looked up into the twinkling sky, barely visible through the coniferous canopy. He thought he saw movement up there.

Humans in their chariots of iron.

And yes, other presences drawing near. A great many of them now.

Warok wandered on. They did not know of the spirits dwelling in the swaying life trees, or the racing furies in the wind, nor of those who danced and laughed in the babbling brooks. He knew them. He knew them all.

Mine by birth, the bones do not lie.

The bones had came up stars and sun.

The cavern mouth loomed just ahead. A jack o' grin, a darker shade of black in the forest's shadow. Footsteps approached from behind. A number of them. Warok stopped and turned.

"Hello," the ursine squeaked into the looming dark, his own black eyes alight with some infernal fire. "You come for He-Who-Dwells-Within."

A giggle. A mad little giggle.

"Come out from under the moon and stars. Talk into the dark with me. Maybe it will answer."

He gnashed the blocky tombstones he called teeth into a smile, then he toddled inside the cavern's gloom and disappeared.

The bridge of the Resurgent class was designed in every possible way in a cautious mimicry of the old Imperial style. The sweeping viewports, raised command platform, and banks of recessed operator stations all were a deliberate homage to the now ancient designs of the ISD-II's and their follow on vessels. They gave a certain air of majesty, and a very distinct notion of who had authority and who didn't. All very much the sort of thing the First Order was fond of.

It was also a design Cyrus was not terribly fond of. The Darr Itah's layout was radically different, a large rounded room, almost amphitheater like, centered around a huge central holo-display. It made it quite easy for any watchstander to simply look up and get an idea of the whole picture, rather than being forced to focus only on their task. He'd found, in his years of command, that having a CIC watchteam well informed of the course of a battle paid dividends down the line.

He'd entered the bridge late, just prior to reversion, his presence unannounced in defiance of tradition out of due respect to the fact that Supreme Commander [member="Ludolf Vaas"] was already there. Despite having served with the First Order for some time now, Cyrus didn't know what to think of the man. He was acquainted with him as a General in the One Sith, and possibly before that in [member="Darth Hauntruss"]' failed bid for Imperium almost a decade ago, but he'd risen high here in the First Order and for all Cyrus knew was now a totally different person.

This battle would be telling, he supposed.

He turned his thoughts away from individuals and back to the task at hand. The tactical situation was promising, with the First Order having a nearly perfect laydown of the enemy force thanks to the efforts of FIPV-9 work earlier. Those early reports, verified now by the fleet's sensors, stated that the effective combat strength of the enemy fleet was made of two classes of ship.

Generally speaking, Ssi-Ruuk ships were considered inferior to Imperial vessels, or at least so the hundreds of years worth of intelligence reports suggested. The two main combat types were cruiser and corvette sized, respectively, with the cruisers sporting a respectable capital ship armament and the corvettes (termed Picket Cruisers by the disgusting little reptiles) dedicated anti-fighter escorts. They also used drone fighters en masse, something that was a serious threat to the Old Empire's shieldless mass fighter tactics but was less of a problem to the First Order's advanced designs.

There were still considerations to be made. The heavy corvettes and frigates risked being picked apart by drone fighters, and even the elite starfighter corps could be overwhelmed if sent in unsupported. There was also the small problem of the massive new design of the Ssi-Ruuk flagship protected by a shield generator from the surface of Endor.

There were also simply a LOT of enemy ships. Nearly forty of the cruisers and at least four times as many of the corvettes, plus literally thousands of drone fighters. At the very least it would be a target rich environment. Given the history of invasion by the Ssi-Ruuk, this was likely the extent of their fleet, and a victory here would mean at least decade of peace on this front for the First Order.

The First Order Fleet was deployed in three wings. Admiral [member="Tanomas Graf"]'s Death Squadron anchored the center, and Admiral Sekerian command the right wing. Admiral Graf had already submitted a plan for the assault, which Cyrus had reviewed and hastily approved. The man had proven himself at Castameer and multiple times since then, and anyway it made things incredibly simple for Cyrus, all he had to do was watch.

And make a contingency plan in case the ground forces couldn't bring down the shield.

Upon landing on the moon of Endor, Dunames realized that one can never be too cautious. If the Ssi-Ruuk were really interested in killing Ewoks, she will have to protect the Ewoks by any means necessary, hoping that the MR-74 bought en route to Ziost would prove sufficient to kill hostile Ssi-Ruuk if necessary. And a 12.7x108 is a big bullet that can even be used in taking down swoops or other unarmored vehicles, but Dunames believes it can also be used in killing Ssi-Ruuks much as it could also be used to kill hostile Sith Lords. Getting close enough to Bright Tree Village without actually landing the ship in it meant that the Neimoidian Yacht had to be somewhere else in the Happy Grove, like Salfur's Trading Post, which was the original landing site of where the Endor Express was supposed to be landing by 4 ABY. By far the most famous of the charming Ewok tribal villages, Bright Tree Village was the centerpiece of the and Merrily was with them, as some protocol droid serving as an interpreter who, for the time being, keeps quiet. But is the reserve large enough to cover more than one Ewok village?

"The First Order Security Bureau reports that there are creatures called Ssi-Ruuk in the vicinity of Endor. Be careful around there"

"If anything, boss, it would be easier to earn the trust of the Ewoks if the Ssi-Ruuk actually are hostile to them"

"We have arrived at our destination"

The crisp, grey uniform of the Fleet Admiral clung to his form in a flattering manner. Yellow eyes ran along his bridge staff as he noted how they all fell into place. They belonged on this bridge because they were the best of the best. Many of the men and women here today were on the ship when Grand Moff [member="Natasi Fortan"] took command of Concordia during the Omega Wars. She commanded the men and women of her fleet like she belonged in command. Rarely did those outside of his kinship earn his praise, but on that day, he was immensely proud of her.

And would gladly follow her lead into the very edges of the Universe.

But, recently, motions had been put in order to keep the Grand Moff from being able to interfere in military operations. Treatment that was, frankly, disgraceful towards the woman who devoted every ounce of her being to the First Order. She was not just some pretty face that would smile and wave to the commonfolk to give them hope and a face other than the ever-elusive Supreme Leader. In all honesty, upon hearing of such resolutions, the Fleet Admiral considered turning in a letter of resignation. But, it would've done little good.

Besides, today was not a day to discuss politics.

Everyone on Concordia, and the entirety of the Grand Moff's fleet, were on strict order to regard her in the highest manner. Any insubordination could be punishable by death. The Grand Moff was an imposing figure as it was, but she also had a Sith Lord who stood behind her. No one who served under him would be foolish enough to cross him. He took his duties as Commanding Officer exceptionally seriously. And saved his mischief for his shore leave.

A set of footsteps came up from behind him as Captain Ledet, his Executive Officer, stood behind him, putting his hands behind his back. "Fleet Admiral, your guests are arriving." Avicus turned to face the man and smirked. "Thank you, Captain. You have the bridge." The pair saluted each other before the Sith Lord made his way to the lift.

Their destination was the planet of Rattatak. A primal world that could've easily been steamrolled by the First Order Military. But, that approach wouldn't get the Rattatakian tribes behind the might of the First Order, and would simply help stir a new Resistance the Order of Ren and Military fought so hard to abolish. Instead, the tribes would participate in a battle arena and test whatever warriors the First Order sent their way.

Life as a Fleet Admiral was stable, but often stagnant. There were parts of him that missed the battlefield, so he insisted on taking on this mission alone. It would serve to quell his bloodlust for the time being. But, to his dismay, the First Order wouldn't let him bask in this task alone. There would be an accompaniment. Normally, that wouldn't be an issue, but one of those joining was a child. The Fleet Admiral wasn't one to suffer a fool, and he certainly wouldn't let the First Order come under unnecessary embarrassment.

His shoes clicked on the polished floor of the hangar as the Hangar Chief announced his entrance. "Fleet Admiral Avicus DuSang on deck!" The various rows of marines and pilots that were being paraded for his guests all stood at attention, saluting the God of Death. A sly smirk crept over his lips as he returned the salute in a crisp, smooth motion. He walked to the front of the gathering, clasping his hands behind his back.

Yellow eyes rested on the two Executrix class ships, the Eviscerator and the William Kerkov, that would be accompanying Concordia to the planet of primitives. A small speck could be seen leaving Dosuun's atmosphere. As it approached the Star Destroyer, it grew larger. Details could be made out of the shuttle as it sped towards the Grand Moff's flagship. Making its way into the hangar, the shuttle made a quick landing. Waiting for the ramp to finish lowering, Avicus approached the group.

"Welcome to the Concordia. I am Fleet Admiral Avicus DuSang."

Strange were the ways of the Supreme Leader and that in turn applied to the orders passed down to the Disciples from the Knights in his service. Castor Ren. The name was finally beginning to feel like his own, perhaps one day he could say that he truly had forgotten his former life. He was older than most of his brother and sister Disciples but it made him more mature, at least more than some. This assignment was likely as much a test of his humbleness as it was a test of his skill. Only a short time had passed since the Ssi-Ruuk had made their assault on Castor's home. The Bastion of Ren, a testament to the resolve and resilience of the the Order. They'd come through the fire, standing just as strong as they ever were despite their losses. Despite the sheer numbers of the enemy, the saurians had been repelled, forced to retreat back into hyperspace. Shifting slightly in his seat he mused to himself. It almost felt wrong, to be leaving at a time like this. There was much to be done, Castor himself had gone mostly unscathed aside from a few cuts and bruises but the fortress itself had taken a beating. Security vulnerabilities had been identified and needed adjustment, bodies upon bodies still littered the grounds near the Bastion. The Path of Jagged Stones, one of the symbolic journeys of becoming a Knight of Ren had been torn and trampled as the thousands upon thousands of P'w'eck had made their way towards the home of the Ren. So much work to be done.

Castor's thoughts were interrupted as he could sense their arrival. Soon they would be aboard the Concordia. Even to a Disciple it did not require much effort to feel the dark side of the force emanating from within the flagship's hull. Regardless of how he'd felt about it, it was the Supreme Leader's will that he be given this task, or so it had been told. He was to meet up with a man by the name of Avicus DuSang. That wasn't the part that had confused him, but he knew better than to question his orders. In addition he had been tasked to accompany a child. There were young Disciples he had worked with from time to time but this was different. This truly was a boy. Pantoran if he recalled correctly. Glancing back over his shoulder he looked to the boy seated further back in the shuttle. Raising his voice he spoke so that both the boy, [member="Boo Chiyo"] and his guardian, [member="Irajah Ven"] could hear him.

"We are to arrive soon, it would be best to prepare for our departure."

As he finished speaking he closed his eyes briefly. He could feel the engines of their shuttle begin to spool down as they approached one of the Concordia's hangars. His breaths deep and slow, he waited patiently for the familiar jolt of the landing gear touching down. He'd never been aboard the Resurgent-class Star Destroyer but he assumed it was like any other, though he had heard that this vessel had been modified with a meditation chamber, a large one at that. Designed to help focus and direct the very Force throughout an entire allied fleet, it had proven useful during the Omega Crisis; the stories had attributed their victory to its use. And there it was, the familiar jerk of the ship as its hydraulics took over, setting the shuttle into a resting state.

Castor's eyes snapped open, rising from where he had been seated. For this mission he had clad himself in dark, form fitting attire, cinched at the waist with a leather belt. Over these he wore a set of lightweight robes, as was customary of the Ren. His leather boots padding across the durasteel deck he turned back to face the boy and his guardian.

"We have arrived, please stay close."

Turning towards the ramp he descended, hands clasped in front of himself. Immediately he was greeted by... He could feel the power seeping from the man, this.. this must be Avicus DuSang himself. Bowing at the waist he returned the greeting, first himself and then standing, arms motioning towards their temporary ward and his guardian.

"It is an honor. My name is Castor Ren, I come with a ward and his... guardian."

Looking first to them and then back to Avicus he took a step backwards, motioning for the two to approach and introduce themselves.
