  • Blast Me Not: Protected by a multi-shield capacity emitter, granting the A-57 with several layers of differing shield defense, the Conrad boasts noteworthy resilience against energy weapons. Of course the degree of durability the battle droid's shields and underlying armor have against these weapons depends on the weapon being deployed. Against small-arms infantry blasters, it is substantially protected and is able to last longer than many other droids on the market, on the other hand it likely won't fare as well against turret emplacements and heavy cannons.
  • But a Flesh Wound: Beneath the battle droid's shielding lies two layers of thick, strong armor, it is this secondary and last line of defense that does the bulk of the work in protecting the droid from physical projectiles, environmental hazards and blunt force attacks. The Conrad's titanium outer shell and pieces of Duraplast reactive plating on-top protect most of the droid's body, while a unique Fibermesh-Duraplate composite material was manufactured into the droid to shield it's more vulnerable components such as it's joints, energy source, communications equipment and parts of it's head.
  • I Can Take It: Perhaps the deadliest infantry weapon on the battlefield; for millennia the lightsaber has posed an incredibly lethal threat to organic troops and battle droids across the galaxy. It was with this age-old problem in mind- not to mention the unique danger posed by some of the Maw's more mystical members- that the A-57 Conrad was designed. Individually, it's shielding and physical armor would only put up a slightly better than moderate fight against the blindingly hot energy blade of a lightsaber, but when combined, and with the Conrad's intelligent combat matrixes granting it a high-degree of battlefield initiative, any Jedi or Sith may find a surprise when up against this droid.

  • You're a Big Guy: Weighing as much as several fully-grown human men and being six foot and five inches, while in some cases advantageous more often than not proves to be both a logistical and combat weakness. Large enough to be a notable target from as much as hundreds of meters away and heavy enough that traversing unstable terrain such as mud or rubble can prove difficult, the Conrad's intimidating stature is for the most part just that- intimidating. Fukashi Electric insists that the size of the droid was necessary to fit it with the needed components and shielding, but that argument will fail to placate any Chaldean logistician.
  • Help I've Fallen: Previously mentioned, the Conrad's large size and heavy weight makes traversing unstable terrain difficult, beyond that however, it's very bipedal nature is an inherent disadvantage when it comes to robotics. A victim of industry and often consumer expectations, the development team behind the A-57 at Fukashi Electric was essentially forced by their corporate superiors into making their machine bipedal, with the suits above insisting that droids were just 'how things were' in the robotic business. As such, it's two legs- while assisted with auto-stabilizing technology and the droid's own mind- still leave it vulnerable to falling over.

  • The A-57 Conrad Battle Droid is a bipedal robotic infantry fighting machine developed by the Fukashi Robotics division of Fukashi Electric, a subsidiary of GalactiCom Holocommunications, itself a subsidiary of the NAKAIOMA Group. Worked on in conjunction with Nakaioma Defense Dynamics, the A-57 was developed following an order from the Chaldean Potentium, due to their homeworld's increasingly precarious military situation with the Brotherhood of the Maw's continuing encroachment on Alliance territory around their system. Intended to make up the backbone of the Chaldean droid infantry force, the Conrad was designed with a specific ideology of 'quality over quantity' regardless of the monetary cost such a design would inevitably incur. Utilizing the efforts of prior projects, the development team at Fukashi Robotics was able to develop and begin the approval process for the A-57 in record time, something of particular importance given that time was also a pressing topic on their customers' minds.

Bipedal in nature, the A-57 Conrad is from a fundamental design perspective a very typical battle droid concept. Yet it is beneath the surface that it truly begins to stand out, boasting an array of advanced operating systems, shielding and electronic warfare equipment, the Conrad was built to operate as a so-called 'one droid army' if necessary, following the principles set to them by their Chaldean clients. Able to instantly transfer battlefield data to nearby units, which can then relay that information to other units, the Conrad is a network-centric droid, bringing the best of both worlds together in that it shares information, learning experience and orders with other units much like a less-intelligent battle droid would, but that it does not require a central computer or command module to operate, though the option of having one still remains for organic commanders to use if wanted or needed. Already large enough with the components it was built with, the decision was made for the A-57 to go without any in-built weaponry, something which 'conveniently' benefited Nakaioma Defense Dynamics, who would go onto sell their Q87 Kenshi Blaster Rifles and NK01 Fujita Rail Pistols to equip each Conrad that was ordered with.
