  • Description: The 91st Mobile Infantry, more so known as the 91st Sentinel, are a force of professional soldiers apart of the Galactic Alliance armed services. The identifying marks of the 91st were small red circles with a white rectangle running across them, stopping midway. Put together to serve under Jedi Master Romi Jade after her return from the clutches of the Sith Empire, the group adopted the name 91st Sentinel for their training and focus on a variety of techniques, tactics, and functions that were largely inspired by Jade's personal combat philosophy/style, and the philosophy of the Jedi Sentinel -- become moldable, efficient survivalists that possess a degree of independence from other GAAF units, but be nonetheless conditioned to work with partners whenever it is possible.

COMBAT INFORMATION:
  • Unit Size: Medium
  • Unit Availability: Unique
  • Unit Experience: Elite
  • Equipment:
    Modded Galactic Alliance Scout Armor
    • Breastplate, arm and leg segments, and Helmet are made of duraplast. They also had limited or no upper leg armor for swifter movement in battle, and though less protected and not as heavily armed as some regular troopers, theirs was designed to give their wearers maximum movement and flexibility in any situation, especially combat. To aid their function, they were equipped with a variety of resources to give them maximum effectiveness in the field. The most obvious function of the armor was protection against weapons fire and battlefield hazards. The armor, and the body glove worn beneath, were designed to disperse the energy of a blaster bolt and insulate the wearer, lessening injury. The body glove provided insulation and cushioning while also regulating body temperature during periods of exertion, and it also provided limited protection against radiation. The breastplate was the strongest part of the armor, offering the greatest protection from shrapnel, projectiles, flames, and various corrosives, and was sturdy enough to disperse across the surface area of the armor's duraplast, all hits from blaster and other handheld energy weapons barring close-range direct impacts. The forearm portions of the arm segments were reinforced enough to intercept vibroblades during close-quarters combat. The armor deflected very limited blows from lightsabers, but served as excellent protection against explosions and shrapnel, thereby drastically reducing the effective casualty radius of fragmentation weapons used against troops wearing such armor.

  • Combat Function:
    • Operations: Attack/Defense, Reconnaissance/intelligence gathering, Military reserve force, Urban combat, Guerrilla Warfare

The 91st operated effectively as sergeants which allowed them to command small squads of regular soldiers.

Regular troops featured sand colored armor, with a red band around their right arm and a white stripe around their left shoulder guard. Sergeants or squad leaders had almost all of their chest plates blue, along with a small plate of armor that was on their left side. Their right shoulder guard was sand colored, but their left shoulder guard was all sand blue, save for the white stripe. The Captain was identified by a sand blue stripe that went along the top of their chest plates and onto the top of their shoulder guards, and also sported a kama attached to their belt.

Consisting of four platoons: totaling 144 troopers broken down in four platoons of 36 led by a Sergeant. The company was made up of:
      • 41st Infantry "Jade's Sabre" - under the direct leadership of Romi Jade and Captain Hunter, Jade's Sabre served as the spearhead into most conflicts. It was a standard light infantry formation of four line squads for a total of 36 troopers. They would usually come under the most pressure, and move between squads as the battle dictated
      • 9th Assault - was a platoon known for their renowned overwhelming firepower and offensive tactics. As its name suggests, the 9th specialized in invasions, frontal attacks, besiegement and other offensive scenarios. Therefore, they often acted as the main offensive force in major battles, such as spearheading the groups deployment with huge drops from high altitudes, with specialized tech to do so.
      • 05 Mobile Recon - far more mobile, they patrolled perimeters, performed reconnaissance missions and identified enemy positions. They were also trained to advance ahead of infantry divisions or to provide rear-guard cover with their sniper rifles. Their training profile also included scouting, and sabotage missions.
      • 55th Havoc- organized much like standard line platoons with 36 soldiers, but were designed around accomplishing missions which required a few elite men rather than normal military operations. In addition these squads were often split in equal sub-units, containing troopers of all squads for greater flexibility, and could be cross-attached to other units. They were often used to prosecute delicate missions such as assassinations, Rebel Activity Clearance and Political gain operations.

Strengths:
  • Versatility - moldable, and efficient survivalists. They've been trained in a variety techniques, tactics, and functions. Expert irregulars in fast-moving, small-scale actions against orthodox military and police forces and, on occasion, against rival insurgent forces, either independently or in conjunction with a larger political-military strategy.
  • Jedi Trained - inspired by Jade's personal combat philosophy/style, and the philosophy of the Jedi Sentinel. Beyond a skillset that blended schools of non-Force skills, such as in the fields of security, computers, stealth techniques, demolitions, etc. They're also experienced in dealing with Force-users, from knowing how they might think and or act in the field whether against them or in tandem.
Weaknesses:
  • Non-Jedi - They aren't Force-users. Being able to surmise how one may think, is completely different from being able to match the supernatural level of a trained Force-user. Their trained to work with them and develop strategy against them, but don't possess any control over the metaphysical energy that is the Force, nor any immunity to it.
  • Limited - The shine in small-scale engagements, or those in conjunction with larger military forces. They are not meant to be deployed to fight larger/regular conflicts solely alone.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

The 91st Mobile Infantry, more so known as the 91st Sentinel, are a force of professional soldiers that were apart of the Galactic Alliance armed services. The unit was comissioned by Coren Starchaser and trained by Sol Stazi to serve under Jedi Master Romi Jade after she broke free from Sith control and was able to return from the darkside. The group adopted the name 91st Sentinel for their training and focus on a variety of techniques, tactics, and functions that were largely inspired by Jade's personal combat philosophy/style, and the philosophy of the Jedi Sentinel -- become moldable, efficient survivalists that possess a degree of independence from other GAAF units, but be nonetheless conditioned to work with partners whenever it is possible. After the full disbandment of the Galactic Alliance/Remnant, they've remained loyal to Romi Jade in their regular capacity continuing to follow her command when called on.

Under Review Romi Jade Romi Jade

A nicely detailed sub! Always interesting to see good guy stormtroopers. Just a few things before I stamp this approved.

  • The shoretrooper from your image credit link matches the one used in the "91st Sentinel" logo under Classification, but it looks like a different image was used in the top banner, with the troopers among the palm trees. I don't see that image in the tweet you linked. Could you please provide a link to that image as well?

  • Please restore the Permissions field, which should go under Out of Character Information between Role and Links. All fields from the template must appear in the submission, even if all you put there is "N/A".

  • Under Weaknesses, "Non-Jedi" is a bit of a weak weakness. The vast majority of NPC units submitted to the Codex are not Force-users, and many player characters aren't either. Further, these troops are specifically noted to have been trained to fight Force-users, which is an advantage most Codex unit subs don't have. I would encourage you to come up with something the Sentinels are weak against, such as certain tactics, environments, or types of attack, rather than merely something they are not, especially if they are trained to counter the thing they are not.
Let me know if you have any questions or need any help!
