The red stripes on the armour are held as particularly important given the Regiment's familiarity and fondness for all things Mandalorian where the colour represents the desire to honour the parent on the part of the wearer, which has a profound and deep emotional meaning for the Regiment's members who being recruited as children often do not recall their parents yet desire to honour them regardless.

SOCIAL INFORMATION

Commander-In-Chief: Sieger Ren
Colonel-In-Chief: Vacant
Curios:
  • Each member of the 91st Mobile Reconnaissance Regiment carries a holotag that is machine-readable and contains basic biographical information: First Name, Service Number, Rank, Blood Group, Date of Birth and Unit. This is done so that the First Imperial Stormtrooper Corps can track personnel movements and casualties, it also gives the Troopers customary lawful proof as being a lawful combatant should the worst happen and they end up in the opposition's hands alive and be subsequently processed as a Prisoner of War.
  • First Order armbands with the distinctive black maw upon red fabric are usually worn on the left arm above the elbow by the Regiment's membership when in Barracks or Officer's Commanding Dress to showcase their First Imperial pride. Some Officers and Troopers also wear this armband when in their armour although it is only uniformly worn by members of the Regiment with their Armour on formal public parades where battle dress (Armour) is prescribed.
Dogma/Doctrines:
  • All personnel including all officers commissioned or otherwise and enlisted troopers are prohibited from peacefully surrendering or capitulating to any opposition force and must fight and struggle until physically incapable, the only acceptable exception to this Regimental doctrine is where ordered otherwise by a flag-level or central command staff officer.
  • All training exercises are to include the use of live ammunition without blank-firing adapters to enhance unit cohesion, trust and promote correct weapon safety procedures, this extends to all sparring training which should include full-contact with prohibition to direct strikes above the shoulder unless appropriate protective headwear equipment is availible for the participants.
  • At all informal dining events including the barracks and field environment, sequence in the consumption of foodstuffs and mess queue shall be directly proportional to rank, all ranks in company beneath you shall proceed to consume their foodstuffs with the senior-most officer being the last to begin the consumption of their meal. This is to prevent the poisoning of commissioned officers and ensure that their subordinates are well fed before themselves. Failure to observe this policy will result in disciplinary action through non-judicial punishment for the Duty Sergeant and any culpable officer Commissioned or otherwise.
  • At all formal dining events such as wear OC dress is prescribed sequence of the consumption of footstuffs and mess queue shall be inversely proportional to rank. The senior-most rank in attendance shall be the first to receive and consume their meal with junior ranks following in sequence respectively. This shall be an acknowledgement of the Troopers' value and accomplishments with the Officers putting themselves at risk of poisoning first and an acknowledgement from the Troopers for their officers' meritorious leadership. Failure to observe and enforce this policy shall be met with Non-judicial punishment for the Master of Ceremonies and Duty Sergeant.
  • Commissioned Officers' armour will be painted in the prescribed colour scheme to distinguish themselves to both allied and opposition forces, failure to observe this regimental policy will result in disciplinary action through non-judicial punishment.
  • During combat drops from orbit the COIC or NCOIC usually play a Heavy Isotope track of their choosing within the transporting craft(s) local TEAMCOMM to encourage their subordinates, Troopers and Non-Commissioned Officers generally sing along with the song and/or strike the floor or wall with their feet or fist respectively along with the bassline to create a cacophony of encouraging noise. This is a 91st MRR custom and observed only where appropriate by the Troopers.
  • Officers, commissioned or otherwise shall lead from the from the front unless their orders or physical condition prevents them from doing so, failure to observe this tradition not keeping with the values of the Regiment and will result in disciplinary action through non-judicial punishment.
  • Members (Current or Former) of the Ninety-First Mobile Reconnaissance Regiment are prohibited from providing testimony in favor of the prosecution in legal proceedings initiated against another member by or on half of foreign powers on any charge, violation of this order and tradition will see the offender transferred to another unit and barred from rejoining the Regiment.

Goals:
  • Close with and destroy the enemy with extreme prejudice through fire and maneuver in all-weather regardless of terrain by day or by night. Repel all assaults on First Imperial holdings with extreme prejudice through fire and close-quarters fighting in all-weather conditions regardless of terrain by day or by night.
  • Destroy and suppress insurgent and revolutionary organisations such as the Jedi Reformation operating within the First Order's borders.
  • Transform the First Order into a galaxy-spanning Empire under the harsh albeit fair rule of Sieger Ren and his appointed Grand Moff Natasi Fortan. As Stormtroopers many within the 91st MRR believe themselves to be Sieger's chosen harbingers of Order tasked with bringing a wild and errant galaxy back to civilisation from the brink of wanton Chaos.

Hierarchy: The 91st Mobile Reconnaissance Regiment is commanded by a Colonel who was born and raised alongside the other members of the unit and recognised for their natural leadership qualities, beneath him are three Battalion Commanders who hold the rank of "Major" with one of these three Battalion Commanders appointed as the Second-In-Command of the entire Regiment to assume responsibility of the Regiment should the Colonel become incapacitated. Within each battalion are six Company-sized formations each commanded by a Captain containing four platoons and a headquarters section with the Platoons being led by a Junior Commissioned Officer such as a Lieutenant with a Sergeant to assist them. Each platoon consists of three twelve-Stormtrooper sections, each section is commanded by a Corporal with a Lance Corporal as their Second in Command.

  • Galactic Basic (Official: Superior)
  • Atrisian Basic (Unofficial: Intermediate High)
  • Binary (Unofficial: Intermediate Low)
  • Bocce (Unofficial: Intermediate Mid)
  • Eldorai (Unofficial: Novice Mid)
  • Mando'a (Unofficial: Intermediate High)
  • Sith (Unofficial: Novice High)
Membership: Members of the 91st MRR are drawn almost exclusively from children and infants who were surrendered to the First Imperial State and were taken into the First Imperial Stormtrooper Corps upto the age of six with the candidates generally born between 835 and 833 ABY making the Regiment comprised of the youngest deployed Troops in the entire First Imperial Military. Adult replacements or transfers are accepted into the 91st MRR although only if the candidate has previously served as a Stormtrooper with an exemplary performance record at the discretion of the Regimental Commander. Replacements or transfers who have been trained from birth as the majority of the regiment do not require Regimental Officer Commanding approval.

Strengths:
  • Human Intelligence: The 91st Mobile Reconnaissance Regiment's members were recruited from children who demonstrated above average intellect and as a result exhibit proficiency in several languages along with remarkable verbal and abstract reasoning skills. They're ideal to take on alien or foreign battlefields for this reason as they find it easy to communicate proficiently with Non-Humans.
  • Jump-Troopers: Thanks to their obsession with mobility and reconnaissance the 91st MRR have a disproportionate concentration of jetpack certified Troopers which some suspect is related to the units' proficiency in Mandalorian language. Being jetpack certified is considered a rite of passage within the unit and demonstration of bravery.
  • Special-Operations Capable: Trained to the high standard expected of Stormtroopers recruited as Juveniles the Unit maintains the capability to engage in and support Special Operation and Covert Operations. The First Order Security Bureau often requisitions 91st MRR assets to support them as does the Special Operations' Command when requiring support to achieve their theater-level or tactical-level objectives.
  • Translators: Experts in forms of communication other than Galactic Basic the 91st Mobile Reconnaissance Regiment's members historically had a proficiency in learning more than one language and this has become a matter of training policy for the Regiment. The 91st Mobile Reconnaissance Regiment are a go-to choice for the First Order Security Bureau and Special Operations Command when it comes to Human Intelligence their ability to extract actionable intel from aliens without parallel among the First Imperial Stormtrooper Corps.
Weaknesses:
  • Armour Battalions: The 91st Mobile Reconnaissance Regiment is equipped with man-portable anti-tank weapons and fields a limited amount of armour themselves that is capable of posing a threat against heavily armoured and armed vehicles. Without support from friendly armour or artillery units the 91st Mobile Reconnaissance Regiment cannot effectively engage and destroy hostile armour units especially those supported by Infantry Battalions in an environment with flat or steppe-like terrain.
  • Distinctive Armour: Despite being a SOC Reconaissance Regiment the 91st MRR make sparing use of camouflage from an ideological pride in their status as Stormtroopers and instead often wear their armour with its' distinct 91st MRR livery instead of camouflage even in environments where it might be considered inappropriate reasoning "What the enemy sees, they shall soon fear." When the 91st MRR do employ camouflage and concealment they do so with the utilisation of hologram technology for deception.
  • Limited Support Assets: To maintain mobility the Regiment is equipped with little heavy artillery in the way of armoured fighting vehicles and self-propelled guns which can provide invaluable fire support in combat which limits their ability to engage in protracted heavy front-line combat without sustaining significant casualties if they refuse or otherwise do not disengage.
Description

"We live and die as brothers!"
"Mhi kyr' tome vode an!" (Mando'a: We die together all as brothers!)
"asha hâskjontû!" (Common Sith: Triumph through the suffering!)
-Loosely translated multilingual 91st MRR rallying cry

The Ninety-First Mobile Reconnaissance Regiment is a Special-Operations Capable motorised infantry reconnaissance regiment of the First Imperial Stormtrooper Corps and one of the few to be composed almost in its' entirety of above average intellect highly active child-recruits who were recruited between 833 and 835 ABY making them among the youngest deployed soldiers within the First Imperial Stormtrooper Corps but also some of the most proficient given they have been trained nearly twice as long as the clones of the Old Republic's Grand Army with a training program developed from centuries of continued warfare. Nearly every single member of the Regiment has been raised in the highly structured and disciplined environment of First Imperial Military Academies that provided them a level of education competitive with the finest civil secondary and vocational schools, the regiment's collective intellectual power and technical skills is reflected in their ability to communicate and understand with varying proficiency several different languages including: Atrisian Basic, Galactic Basic, Bocce, Binary, Common Sith and Mando'a.

The Regiment has consistently exhibited an almost preternatural level of teamwork that their trainers ascribed to their youth and lack of family connections, forming an extraordinary strong collective identity in their Regiment and confidence in one-another which has lead to astonishing displays where Sections within the Regiment have cleared buildings in M.O.U.T training while ostensibly maintaining a complete communication blackout which included the prohibited use of hand-signals, it was later discovered as a clever and company-level co-ordinated deception on the Cadets' part as they were communicating in Morse-code using their BIOCOMM displays and forcing their status' to flash in sequence. This revelation pleasantly surprised the trainers who began noting that their Trainees possessed deep capacity for independent and critical thinking although persistent indoctrination efforts by the Security Bureau managed to persuade the entire Regiment of the First Order's righteousness without significantly impacting their intellectual potential. During the Regiment's adolescence they engaged in risk-taking and boundary-pushing behaviour as expected and in one instance members of the unit that had been training in Cryptography and Cyber-security managed to anonymously break the encryption on the Regiment's personnel files and discovered the given names of every single member within the Regiment to a mixture of pride and horror from their trainers.

Within the Regiment digital copies of these redacted personnel files and the given names were distributed throughout the Regiment, eventually the trainers managed to track down and destroy these digital copies on the Barracks' network but not before the given names of the entire Regiment's personnel had been circulated and adopted by the trainees. Initially the response to the practice from the Trainers was one of panic who feared that the entire unit would have to be processed through re-education by the First Order Security Bureau who monitored the situation with great interest but the feared riot or rebellion from the Adolescent soldiers never eventuated and it appeared that their previous indoctrination and loyalty training had been effective as intended. The revelation would provide the First Imperial Military re-assuring evidence to support the hypothesis that permitting Child recruits to maintain their given names did not negatively impact their commitment to the First Order or Identity as Stormtroopers, in-fact it seemed to have an overwhelmingly positive impact on the Troops' confidence and unit cohesion with the Regiment adopting its' ubiquitous colours around this time as an expression of their collective unit identity; they are the proud children of First Imperial Citizens who would bring the Corps and those Anonymous parents honour through their loyalty and efficiency.

91st Mobile Reconnaissance Regiment have a mixed history and relationship with other units and the First Imperial Military's chain of command due to their rather distinct psychology. Stormtroopers of the 91st Mobile Reconnaissance Regiment are noteworthy for their collective belief that anything is possible with the right state of mind and attitude. They have a strong sense of Camaraderie with one-another among the Regiment and other Stormtroopers where they fully embrace their youth in off-time appearing Carefree and At-east although around outsiders such as Soldiers and Sailors they harden visibly taking on the stoic and harsh appearance that is ubiquitous with Stormtroopers, becoming unfriendly with no expression of emotion or upholding any pretense that they are anything but a calm and ready weapon, only other Stormtroopers would have any evidence to know any better. Unlike other units there is an expectation within the Regiment that Officers should be promoted based on merit and since most of them were raised together 91st MRR Officers represent the bleeding-edge of Combat Proficiency amongst the Units' members and receive deep respect within the Regiment. This contrasts sharply with the dismissive attitude given towards Officers from Army units and other branches who the 91st MRR view as incompetent politically-connected university-educated roosters who preen while being no more violent than a stunted Jawa with a lisp.

This negative view is taken in-part because 91st MRR Officers usually wield their authority discretely as competent, wise and trained leaders despite their youth while fresh adult graduates from the Officer
academies cannot even do a bearing orientation on a navigation exercise. Frustratingly for Non-Stormtrooper Officers who witness their sometimes extreme and suicidal determination and ferocity the 91st MRR's members cannot be cowed or dissuaded from a course with threats of administrative punishment. The sheer lethality and grim casualty statistics of the Special-Operations and front-line fighting they often support with their unparalleled training and skill does nothing to demoralise the Regiment who indeed maintain their unbreakable stoicism while many others would flee, the Stormtroopers of the 91st Mobile Reconnaissance Regiment are immensely proud of their leaderships' bravery and ever-emboldened by their example and are happy to sacrifice to uphold their noble legacy remaining utterly committed to the preservation of the rule of law and order within the galaxy, saving as many lives as possible from the Chaos and uncertainty that threatens to swallow thousands of years of history and development.

"I (Insert Given Name) swear on my blood, honour and the honour of the Regiment with my Ancestors/Forefathers and Comrades as my witness.
To Sieger Ren, the Supreme Leader of the First Imperial Realm and Commander-In-Chief of the First Imperial Military.
That I shall faithfully obey my orders according to the law as given by the Supreme Leader and his duly appointed officers.
I shall serve with unswerving loyalty and dedication to Sieger Ren and the First Imperial Realm.
Let those above judge me, and those below take me should I fail to uphold my duty.
Long live the Supreme Leader! Long live the Realm!"

So a couple of things that need to be addressed:
  • So first thing is this unit is heavily equipped with just about a what's what of the First Order armory. I would like to see this list trimmed down a bit.
  • The strengths and weaknesses do not balance, at all. The weaknesses currently read almost like strengths as each one makes mention of the fact that the unit has a way to deal with the issue, such as having some vehicles and anti-tank weapons and such, or having holographic camo. I would like to see the weaknesses be reworked to actually be weaknesses.
