STRENGTHS

• Ship killer: The 40/T Planetary Defense Carriage is designed to carry armament powerful enough to engage and destroy orbiting capital ships.

• Shoot-and-scoot: Unlike most other planetary defense turbolasers, the T/40 Planetary Defense Carriage is mobile, allowing it to avoid incoming enemy fire.
• Flanker: The nature of the 40/T Planetary Defense Carriage allows it to reposition itself against enemy capital ships, giving it the best line of sight possible to engage enemy targets with.

WEAKNESSES

• Obvious: When the 40/T Planetary Defense Carriage fires its turbolaser, everyone within its vicinity will be aware of it, negating any possibility of stealth.
• Fixed: The 40/T Planetary Defense Carriage can only move alongside its rail system, forcing it onto predictable routes. This also leaves its rail system vulnerable to sabotage.
• Vulnerable: The 40/T Planetary Defense Carriage is highly vulnerable against fast moving targets, as it possesses no real way to defend itself from more agile threats.
• Umaneuverable: As it is fixed to its rail system, the 40/T Planetary Defense Carriage is rather umaneuverable, and is prone to falling over should it move around a corner too quickly.
• Clunky: Even with its onboard A.I system, the 40/T Planetary Defense Carriage can be difficult to aim properly.
• Expensive: Though the 40/T Planetary Defense Carriage costs less than comparable defense systems, it is still an expensive and time consuming vehicle to make, especially when factoring in the creation of rail systems.

DESCRIPTION

Mahporeem's reintegration into Galactic Society has brought with it a number of newfound enemies, such as the Galactic Empire and the Sith Order. Though the Imperial Confederation is sworn to protect Mahporeem from any potential attack, the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant nonetheless wishes to retain the ability to defend itself from any sort of outside aggression. As such, Mahporeem has once again teamed up with N&Z Umbrella Corporation to create a planetary defense system capable of engaging and destroying enemy capital ships: the 40/T Planetary Defense Carriage.

Unlike most planetary defense turbolasers, the 40/T Planetary Defense Carriage is a fully mobile system, capable of relocating to a new firing position after each and every shot it takes. For its primary armament, the 40/T Planetary Defense Carriage is armed with a single T-50 Planetary Defense Turret Turbolaser, taken directly from Mahporeem's stock of spare barrels. Should production of the 40/T Planetary Defense Carriage ramp up in the future, it is likely that N&Z Umbrella Corporation will take over production of additional turbolaser barrels. Secondary armament consists of a pair of twin NZ LC-2A Laser Cannons, for engaging "close in" threats that the planetary turbolaser would not be able to hit.

That being said, the 40/T Planetary Defense Carriage's greatest aspect is its high speed and its ability to "shoot-and-scoot" after firing, though the fact that it is fixed to a rail system mitigates this advantage somewhat. Despite this weakness, however, the 40/T Planetary Defense Carriage remains an affordable and effective planetary defense system, one that can be placed into optimal firing positions even during the heat of battle.
