Hello! just recently made a character and joined the GA, but I'm unsure if I need to have a specific rank such as the Sector ranger to join?
I wouldn't mind it but my character having a rank like that wouldn't really fit his story.

Jedi and Senators work differently, and it's also possible your character doesn't fall in any of the categories. Like civilians for example.

Valery Noble summed it up rather nicely. Just to reiterate: your character does not have to be part of any of the existing groups nor do they need a rank to participate in the GA faction and its storylines.
