Single-Handed Axe Variant

OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • | Intent | To submit a new standard for vibroweaponry with an emphasis on heat usage to exponentially increase cutting/penetration power.
  • | Image Source | Source
  • | Canon Link | N/A
  • | Permissions | N/A
  • | Primary Source | Vibroweapon / Power Lance

PRODUCTION INFORMATION

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • | Classification | Melee Weapon
  • | Size | Large - Small
  • | Weight | Heavy

SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Greater Cutting/Penetraion Potential

STRENGTHS
  • | High Penetration Power | The mixture of ultrasonic vibrations and extreme heat output gives the Ifrit an immense amount of penetration power when it comes to melee combat, being able to cut and stab its way through most standard metal alloys and materials used in armors. It is much deadlier compared to a standard vibroblade and has roughly the same heat output as a lightsaber though not quite as high (Roughly 1,700 Degrees Celsius).
  • | Cutting Edge | In addition to its impressive cutting power, Ifrit weapons are more than capable of handling themselves against other melee weapons. With its heat output, it can easily cut through an unreinforced vibroweapon as well as easily parry and hold its own against a lightsaber due to its plasmatic edge being comparable to that of a lightsaber.
WEAKNESSES
  • | Hefty | As the Zaradium that all Ifrit weapons are forged from is a fairly heavy metal, Ifrit weapons are noticeably heavier compared to their standard vibroweapon cousins ie. An Ifrit vibrodagger will be heavier than a standard vibrodagger. While the heavier weight may be useful for larger bludgeoning weapons like maces and such, the standard sizes of vibrodaggers and swords would take some getting used to.

DESCRIPTION

Vibroweapons for a long, long time have been the standard for melee weapons as their ultrasonic generators exponentially increased the lethality compared to a regular weapon, and have not seen much improvement over the course of time. The ZW-001 'Ifrit' Pattern Vibroweapon was designed to improve upon the existing standard, by improving the already lethal nature of the vibroweapon and giving it even more cutting/penetration power. Based on the designs of vibroweapons and power lances, the Ifrit generates an immense amount of heat along its bladed edge, creating a point of contact that is able to melt through flesh and bone as if they were nonexistent and severely damage most standard armors available the way a lightsaber might.
The Ifrit's design was conceived for a long time, but up until the successful synthesization of Zaradium it could not be achieved, as most standard metals and alloys could not retain a high enough temperature for it to be an effective weapon without melting itself. Since Zaradium has become more commonly produced, the Ifrit's production began, and so began a new standard for vibroweapons that were even deadlier than before.

Correct. It's primarily only meant to be designed for advanced vibroweapons, so I figured I'd use the melee template just for the sake of association (Also because I was unsure if I'd have to apply the melee template to it).
