Dominion Zoinks | SJO DOM of Kwenn

Kyra scrambled to Acaadi. She reached for his arms and embraced him in all the panic, trying to drag him deeper onto the roof with her so they could reach safety. But safety was hard to find, the storm troopers starting to arrive on the roof across from them. Kyra yelped, her hand shooting out to project a force shield. It absorbed the shot, then the other.

Ah, so that was what Master Kei had meant about more than a saber.

There was nothing she could do but try to concentrate and hold it, a task that was harder with Acaadi in her arm. His emotions transmitted easily across their contact, their bond creating a corridor she had not realized they had forged.

And then the fighters came, dropping fire on the building across. Kyra could only scream out again --she was doing a lot of that today-- and shy back in a wash of terror. The rumbles reached them, causing her vision to flash white. Her shield dissipated. Her screams turned ear-piercing, her senses lost as memories of getting crushed under a fort came slamming back.

Perhaps this was too much too soon.

A wave of telekinetic energy lashed out and threw back several smaller chunk of rubble. Acaadi would have cursed the starfighters jocks, even knowing that he idolised them. Instead he was struck by visions of the past.

The darkness encroaching on his mind carried echoes of sith spawn. The weight of the presence of the sith lord who had chased them through the rubble. Acaadi closed his eyes and tried to shut it out.

He couldn't shut out Kyra's piercing scream. Not when she was so close.

"Kyra," groaned. He stopped closing his mind to her and pressed out from his own. It became a sudden battle between the reassurance he tried to radiate outwards and the fears shey projected.

The bunker of undead Troopers was well sealed off in the attack run of the fighters. However, plenty had spilled out into the streets and several small groups still roamed.

Amani had never seen destruction or violence like this before. A life of peace allowed for seclusion from the dangers of the galaxy, but only made it that much more overwhelming when it finally arrived. She could only watch in awe as the starfighters screamed past, the blasts ringing in her ears and the shock wave nearly knocking her down. She looked around at the other Jedi, but it didn't help with her composure any, Kyra's shriek even making her hair stand on end. She wanted to do something, but was effectively frozen in place as the devastating nature of it all hit her at once.

"...What now?" she finally muttered shakily once the strafe had finished. Amani watched as troopers kept crawling out, not even the run was able to put an end to their relentlessness.

Ura Iolar Ura Iolar 's excitement brought a grin, but soon it faded as Amadis looked to the frightened padawan opposite, she needed time with the medics, she shouldn’t be out training at all this early in her condition, and he was concerned she’d been released too easily from observation after Kintan. “You’ll be alright,” he assured, Kyra Perl Kyra Perl . Then spoke to Amani’s question, “not every battle needs to be fought at once,” he nodded firmly. The rangers could be sent in, the fighters could do another run, strikes from orbit, specialist wildcard teams. Four unarmored and under-equipped Padawans at training, now with injuries were not the ideal force to be taking on a relentless stormtrooper horde further.

“Walking away is often the answer.” He told them all, especially focused on Amani Serys Amani Serys , sensing her doubt, “best help through evacuation, assisting, and choosing when to act.” If they’d noticed he was already on his communicator ordering in a shuttle. A serious look at the rubble below crossed his face, watching the horde’s numbers that had escaped from the collapse. More work would be needed to stem the tide fully, that would be for others to take care of and perhaps a return visit for himself later with some Jedi Knights.

Watched the shuttle descending, its landing bay ramp coming down to greet them on the roof. Other craft were entering the atmosphere sent by captain Karris to better secure the area. “Saber to blaster in every fight yourself is foolish.” Stepping aboard the shuttle he extended a hand again to help any up inside. Medics and trained staff now descending around them to assist them aboard and take care of their injuries. Both mental and physical traumas from times past to address. Foolish, yes, somedays past he'd needed someone to tell him that.

Fin for Kei.

OOC: thanks for the great thread!

Ura couldn't help but yell a bit as the debris came in, but she could soon see Acaadi block it all. The Lervon closed her eyes, letting out some relief in the Force.

"Thanks, Velsure." She didn't use her nickname for Acaadi much anymore, but it was, for her at least, a way to keep herself calm right now. She needed something lighthearted to get the troopers off her mind. She'd take anything to get them as far away from her memories as possible. She looked at Kyra, patting her. She knew something was up with her friend, but she didn't know what. "It's ok, Kyra. It's ok. I don't know what, but...." She sighed. She didn't know how to help.

Ura then watched at the shuttle came down, looking at everyone coming in. "I... I guess that's it then? Help with evac." She'd follow Kei to the shuttle, knowing that she'd be best if she could get to a cockpit.

Kyra's pink flush was ashen, all the blood drained from her face as the scene unfolded. She didn't mean to snap, she didn't even recognize she did. The moment the rubble came flying out towards her, all thought had left her.

Kintan had barely been weeks ago.

There was no calm, there was only fear. That was how the sith had wanted it. That was what he had done to her. Hands helped move her. Voices talked. A shuttle landed. She found herself on it without understanding how she had gotten there. She wasn't ready. It had been too soon.

Some wounds needed time. Today was not it.

She slid to the ground of the shuttle, the weight of the take off overcoming her.

Fin.
