You Each Have A Path To Walk [Heavenshield & Friends]

She heard @Andres Sivas speaking abut Umbaran and her head turned to look at him. It apperantly wasn't easy. Looking back at the little girl, she gave her one last smile before standing up at her natural height and focusing on her attention. "Than we'll start with those seventeen phrases. You'll find I'm very fast with languages. Even the hard ones." Katrine wasn't the least bit dismissive of his words but since she had experienced what it meant to learn a hard language, she was actually looking forward to a challenge again.

Her attention returned to @[member="Jeela Tillian "]who had since introducing herself become more friedly with the wall. She offered a smile in her directionand considered asking her why she had moved back but another voice distracted her short attention span and made her look towards the doors. "Hi!" Katrine returned the response to @[member="Jasmine Lancaster"] in a chipper happy tone which could be found in her mother, though none of these people actually knew the older redhead and thankfully, wouldn't be able to make the connection. Too soon for that.

Then there was another one, @Teressa Allens. Katrine wanted to greet her as well but then @[member="Thurion Heavenshield"] spoke and all she did was wave at the girl before looking back at the light haired man who wanted them to take a seat. And since people were taking seats quickly, Katrine walked over to the table after Jeela Tillian sat down and took the seat to her side, her attention returned back to Thurion once again. He wanted attention, Katrine just waited to hear why.

@[member="Connor Harrison"]

"Hahaha!" I laugh from my gut and kick a foot up on the table. "@[member="Katrine Van Derveld"], we are going to have some kind of fun on these voyages. Yeah, I'll help. And the more I'm exposed to Umbaran, the more I seep in my brain, the more I'll share. We'll get Nina chatting partners in no time. Sound good, @[member="Thurion Heavenshield"]?" This Katrine girl sounds like the kind of fun I'm around for. There's an honest whirlwind about the girl's mind and the complex textures and feeding colours of it are enough for an empathic mentalist like me to want another go. Another look.

With everyone seated around the large table at the center of the room, Thurion spoke aloud. "Again, I am humbled at the opportunity to address all of you, whom all have gathered here out of your own will. It was never my wish to force you to join me, and should any of you no longer wish to remain I will not judge nor stand in your way. This ship is now your home as much as it is mine, but it is also yours to abandon in search of a better one." His face was one of serenity and offered an inviting smile to everyone in the small group as he spoke. "As you all know, my name is Thurion Heavenshield. This lovely little girl at my side is Nina Vi'dreya. She is my... daughter", he said for lack of a better word. She'd been with him for so long that it seemed like she truly was of his own blood. It pained Thurion to know she would not understand anything said during this meeting, but for now she'd managed to keep up appearances, so perhaps she was not feeling left out after all. Even so, his hand gave hers a gentle squeeze when mentioning her. "I began my pilgrimage across the galaxy after I was knighted on Teth by former Jedi Master Jaxton Ravos, a good friend and mentor of mine. I started out with visiting Umbara - a place I knew a childhood friend of mine hailed from - and once there I stumbled upon little Nina. She chose to come with me after I rescued her from a gang of mercenaries. The rest, as they say, is history."

"The young woman to my left is called Jasmine. She and I met on Coruscant soon after I left Umbara, and her presence here has been granted by the Jedi Council, as has her apprenticeship under me", he continued with a soft nod directed at @[member="Jasmine Lancaster"]. "After Coruscant, I travelled to Rhen Var to see the Citadel there. Such a historical place warranted a visit, I thought. Upon arriving there, a man by the name of @[member="Connor Harrison"] was sat at the entrance of the ruins. One friendly conversation later, as well as a promise to aid him in his endeavour to regain his memories, and he was on board. Then there was the great fair at Tirahnn, where I quite literally bumped into @[member="Katrine Van Derveld"]. I asked her to come with me after she'd bought the lovely dress Nina is currently wearing, to which she agreed, and here we are." Little Nina managed a shy smile towards Kat to show her gratitude once more. "@[member="Jeela Tillian "]and I met on Togoria, where the now defunct Sith Empire had inflicted innumerable civilian and military casualties, along with leaving the planet in ruins. She had gone there to help in any way she could, and her selflessness serves as a great source of inspiration to me, personally. Then we have the enigmatic @[member="Anders Sivas"], who I stumbled upon on Sakura. Anders entrusted me with information about him that he deemed vital, and I shall not betray his trust. His empathic skills are impressive, and he's got a good head on his shoulders." As he mentioned their names, Thurion inclined his head towards each individual for courtesy's sake. "Last but not least, on Atoa I met @[member="Teresa Allens"]. Her life there was one wrought with misery and pain, and so I took it upon myself to get her out of there and find her a purpose in life. And while she may not be able to use the Force like the rest of us, she is still a valued member of this endeavour. We are not a military organisation, after all."

There. This was of course a brief summary of his travels and those gathered, but he thought it best if they all knew why they were here. "Now, as I've told you all before; I am not here to tell you what to do or how to live your lives. That's not my way. I'm not a member of the Jedi Order nor any other official group of Force-users. What I can do for you is to guide you along your paths, which may very well intertwine themselves with mine or eachothers'. I will offer what I know when it comes to the Force if you think it will help you, and together I hope we will bring some light to this increasingly dark galaxy. I've seen the suffering of innocent people far too often when visiting worlds that are strange to me. It's something I desperatly wish to end, but I will not stoop to the level of those who inflict the pain to begin with. If any of you wish to join me in relieving the suffering of these victims of war and misfortune, I would welcome your help wholeheartedly."

Thurions words swept around the room like an extension of his body, wrapping themselves around each and everyone before him, commanding their attention and unwavering focus. As he spoke about each of them, it felt one by one that their were unified in a common destiny. What that was, Connor had no idea, it just felt like the first step had been taken.

As the great mans words sunk in, Connor looked to his left and right, seeing all the fresh, hopeful faces around him. He looked down at his hands for a second and decided to speak. He extended his hand, like a child in school would, and rose slowly.

"Thurion. Thank you for your kind words, and for bringing us together. I do not wish to speak on behalf of those here, but I feel you will help us all more than we could have expected if left on our own. For that, I thank you."

He folded his arms over, holding onto each arm with his hands.

"I just wish to ask one question. I wish to be able to control and use my connection to the Force once more to make me feel worthy as a Jedi...or Force user, rather. I am no longer a Jedi. Not yet. Will you be the one who can teach me in the ways of the Force, or shall I look elsewhere for that guidance as I accompany you...which I will, you can have no doubt of that."

He lowered his head in a slight nod.

Jeela gave a polite, but rather reserved nod as @[member="Thurion Heavenshield"] mentioned her and how they'd met. It hadn't been a particiularly difficult decision to come along. The Force had prompted her, and so she had agreed. She listened as @[member="Connor Harrison"] spoke, nodding once or twice, and then spoke up at the beginning. "I would not have come had I not intended to stay for some time, and I do appreciate your offer." She paused before turning over to Connor, "I can assist you in learning the Force, if you wish, and Thurion does not think it is a bad idea."

I listen to the others as they start to speak and @[member="Thurion Heavenshield"] gives a snip of information on each of us and our unique qualities. "Thurion Heavenshield is amazing. He's a gift of the Force and we're all blessed to be in this company. We're all blessed to know each other, too and that'll come with time." I hitch my foot off the table and lean back in the chair, waving to Nina. The girl's a major source of Adorable in the room and my intuition tells me there will be many chances to get to help the kid.

"Mentalism's my schtick. Strong emotions will leave me with a headache. A room full of powerful emotional imprints will leave me unconscious on the ground so if I get twitchy and walk away, no offence. Might need a minute to get the barriers back in place. This also means it's a passive talent, I don't control it. I become it. I don't sit there trying to read your emotions, they happen as if I was feeling them myself. If that offends you, sorry. Not a lot I can do but work to fix the offence."

One arm then the other weave behind my head and my fingers interlock along the bottom of my scalp. "Makes me a natural healer and fix-it man. Come to me with anything, I promise to look on it all with grace. I'll be slipping in and out, but when you need me, I'll be right here."

Connor stood, still and listening to @[member="Jeela Tillian "]first, a pretty girl with a spark to her attitude, and then the quite amusing @[member="Anders Sivas"], both speaking comforting and important words that instilled a confidence and unity in the room.

Turning to Jeela, Connor nodded his head.

"Jeela, thank you for your offer. If Thurion sees no reason, I would be grateful for your help. I know the Force is inside me, I feel it. I just...have lost my touch in using it and controlling it."

Feeling the memories of Rhen Var etch into his mind, he slowly nodded to the others and sat down in a state of slight embarrassment. However, on sitting, he leant towards her and fixed his eyes on her, a seriousness to his soft voice.

"If you can unlock it Jeela, I will be forever in your debt."

Jeela gave a curt nod. He was wordy, certainly, but so be it. Most beings were. "I'll do what I can then. And if that debt is as large as you seem to think, pay it forward." Maybe he'd actually take it seriously, unlike most of the others she'd told that too. That would be a fortunate turn of events.

Looking across the table into the eyes of each person seated, Thurion made a sagely nod meant for everyone in the room. "Good, then. This is but the first of many future gatherings, hopefully, unless you find yourselves unable to join me or wish to committ to another cause entirely. It is not within my right to argue against the choices you make in life. Just know that should your actions cause the suffering of innocent people, I would not relish the chance to be forced to fight any of you. This galaxy has seen enough death and misery for its entire existence." He rose to stand, thereby signalling the conclusion of this meeting. Nina then disappeared out the door and arrived seconds later pushing a tray cart filled with refreshments in the form of a humble assortment of beverages and simple food, just as the two had planned before the others had come on board.

"If it would please you all, Nina and I have prepared a meal of sorts that you're welcome to partake in. I hope you all find something alluring to your senses, and should any of you wish to leave right away, then consider this my farewell for now."

Jeela nodded, and strode to the table, examining the food. "Thank you then for this. It looks excellent." She picked up several pieces of fruit, and returned to her seat, eating one slowly, savoring each bite. "You have no reason to worry about me harming the innocent." The very thought abhorred her. If any of the others did do such a thing, she would not hesitate to stop them by whatever means necessary.
