You Each Have A Path To Walk [Heavenshield & Friends]

Aboard the Seren Heritage
Conference Room

And so they were all assembled, with this being the first of hopefully many meetings. His travels throughout the known galaxy had guided him to various men and women, all of which were in need of a purpose - or simply re-directed - to find their respective place in this vast universe, whatever that may be. He did not presume to tell them what to do, but merely advise and offer a guiding hand. These individuals were all different in various aspects; different backgrounds, different outlooks on life and the future - yet Thurion believed they all had the potential and willingness to make the galaxy a better place. Every little thing counts; some of them may become legendary heroes of the galaxy, while some of them may just seek to better themselves. It did not matter. A single smile may very well change the course of history, or a friendly handshake rather than a slap on the fingers may create a better future in the slightest way. Some are sure to disagree with this belief of his, but it was his to believe in, nevertheless.

Thurion was stood inside the conference room aboard his ship, where he had sent word for the others to join him. His little girl, Nina, was at his side clutching his hand. Save for @[member="Jasmine Lancaster"], who had already been given her own quarters aboard his ship, this would be the first time she'd meet with all these new people her guardian had gathered, and while she did not fully understand why he had done so, she would never question his intentions. She knew full-well he wouldn't have done it without good reason - he was far too wise for such to be true. "Are you sure I fit in this dress, Thurion?" she asked him telepathically while fussing with her attire, straightening her socks or brushing off the occasional strand of hair from her shoulders. He gave her hand a gentle squeeze for reassurance. "You look wonderful, my little one. Don't worry about what others will think so much - what matters is that you're comfortable", he replied as he settled a hand upon her head, patting her softly. Her worries seemed to stagnate somewhat, but it didn't stop her from fussing about with her dress. @[member="Katrine Van Derveld"] would recognise it to be the one she'd bought her during her and Thurion's first meeting.

Jeela sifted through her pockets nervously outside the hatch, butterflies flitting around in her stomach. This was... unusual, to say the least. She hadn't been part of a group in a while, and even back home had been an outsider. But, perhaps this would be better. Or not. In which case she could just head off and leave again. She tugged on her coat, and stepped into the conference room, giving a reserved smile to @[member="Thurion Heavenshield"] and Nina. "Hello."

Connor stood against the wall of the ship, away from the conference room where he had been called. Resting his head on a pipe, he collected his thoughts and rationalised what he was doing, taking steady breaths, trying to calm the awkward nerves he felt.

Why was he nervous? He didn't know. Possibly due to the fact this was the first step into a wider world he was taking in many a year, and one that would finally offer him some salvation and purpose to become the man he was supposed to be.

The ship was far warmer and comfortable on Rhen Var, and he knew there were more bodies on board to get to know. He just hope none of them stood in his way to redemption. Not on purpose of course, he just didn't want to ruin things again for the second time in his life.

Exhaling one last breath, he lifted his head and turned to make his way into the conference room. There was a girl already in there from what he could see. He sidled his way in, almost to make out he had been there for a while. Passing through the door, he noticed the god-like figure of Thurion at the head of the room, standing by a little girl. His daughter perhaps? Cute.

He offered a small nod as he came into the room and a faint, awkward smile to the girl in there. Whether she noticed him or not wasn't an issue, he just had to make himself know.

The ship was pretty different from what Katrine was used to. That was really the first thing Katrine noted when she came aboard with Thurion. Then again, she was most used to a single ship, everything else just ended up looking foreign to her.

Now that she was in what she was told was the Conference room, her sapphire blue eyes kept scanning the face there. She didn't know any of them. Which really made one instict pop out. Turning her head to @[member="Jeela Tillian "]who was closest to her, she started: "Hi. I'm Katrine. Who are you?" Simple, easy. And actually not as much talking as Kat was actually capable of when meeting people. But that was mostly because as soon as she said it, the corner of her eye caught something and made her turn around, only to see @[member="Thurion Heavenshield"] arriven with a little girl who was wearing the same dress she had gotten.

"Oh, wow. Aren't you beautiful!" Katrine quickly said to the blonde girl. As it turned out, Thurion was had chosen a good dress for the girl and she'd made the good choice of getting it.

I shudder and pull off my sweat shirt, it's not the coolest ship. Shutting my eyes, I sift through some different kinds of breaths, along from deep breaths, aside of shallow breaths, a hop-skip-jump from panicked hyperventilation, I stick with the slow steady thrall of automation. Just what the lungs want to do and Anders always lets them do. Throwing a long sleeved grey t-shirt over my wastrel's chest, I hitch my shoulders up and feel the pock marks of new people popping in and out of my empathetic consciousness like fireflies on zanth flowers. My big brown combat boots hitch up laced and ready, a pair of black cargo trousers tucked into the boots.

As I sidle into the room, I see @[member="Katrine Van Derveld"] making conversation and it's putting a thin smile on my somewhat rugged mug. Okay, a man can only be so rugged when he hails from Naboo, so I bet I look more pansy than patent leather. Especially with the boyish face. And the thin shoulders. And… I'm gonna stop before I demoralize myself. Swooping along the wall, I bypass one girl and nudge shoulders with @[member="Connor Harrison"], "Sup? I'm Anders. What's your name and stuff? Unless we're gonna have a couple icebreaking games, and those can be awkward. Specially the Trust game. You know, the one where they're supposed to catch you. Yeah. Not like I've fallen on my back, but let's be honest, I've fallen on my back."

I pull a grin out of the side of my mouth and wave to @[member="Thurion Heavenshield"]. "Hei Thurion, how's this shindig sailing?"

He wasn't paying attention to anything when @[member="Anders Sivas"] nudged him and spouted out an introduction faster than most. Must be nerves, which were understandable.

Connor simply watched perplexed, for the second one conversation had finished, it was onto another to Thurion.

"A pleasure. Name's Harrison. Former Padawan hailing from Anaxes. And don't worry, I can catch alright."

He wasn't sure if what he said had been heard, but he'd said it.

A few more pleasant faces were around, this bunch didn't seem so bad. He just hoped he hadn't put his faith into a cause that would tip him over the edge of darkness.

He closed his eyes for a second and shook the idiotic thought out of his head.

As the individuals he'd called for each gathered within the conference room, Thurion bowed graciously toward each one in turn as they showed up, keeping an inviting smile upon his face. "Jeela. Connor." He could tell Nina felt uncomfortable having to meet all these new people, and it made him look slightly concerned as he watched her reactions. When @[member="Katrine Van Derveld"] approached the two, Nina managed a nervous smile and waved quietly. "Nina, this is Kat. She was the one who paid for that dress you're wearing", Thurion spoke into her mind as a means of translation. He then turned back to Kat as he spoke aloud. "Forgive me, I should have told you. Nina doesn't speak - she can't. Not even Umbaran, which is her native tongue, and she doesn't understand Basic. She's very thankful for your kindness, however." Once he had finished, Nina - still clutching his hand with her left - extended her right one and settled her tiny palm against the back of Kat's hand. "Thank you", she transferred into her mind before immidiately dropping her hand to her side again. "She speaks through physical contact. I'm sorry if she startled you."

Anders then entered the room, keeping a carefree posture and an optimistic outlook, it seemed. "Welcome, Anders. Oh, this 'shindig' hasn't even started yet. More are coming - at least, I hope they are", he replied. It was true; Teresa and Jasmine both had not yet shown themselves, but there was still time for them to do so. This gathering was not a buisness meeting of any sort, but merely a chance for all of them to meet and socialise. As such, people were free to come and go as they pleased, although he hoped they would all stay for as long as possible so that they could all discuss the future. It was the reason he'd summoned them to begin with.

The little girl barely gave a smile and a wave before Thurion said Nina didn't talk, not even her native language. And she didn't understand basic. "She understand only Umbar-" she was going to ask when her hand suddenly twitched, a tiny piece of skin came in contact with her hand as her mind receieved the words. It had taken her by surprise more than anything before Thurion explained what had just happened. "N-n-no. It's okay. I just... I didn't expect it." She was going need a few to herself, she realized and took in a deep breath.

"Guess I'll be picking up a new language while I'm here," the redhead finally said and smiled at Nina. She knew she couldn't understand her but the smile was her own way of letting the girl know it was okay. She'd only been startled, there was no harm.

The arrival of another person made her look back, taking in the faces of the people present a little better now.

Deciding to take a seat to the rear of the conference room, Connor swept the faces and people. They all seemed pleasant, normal beings, which was nice.

The little girl of Thurion's intrigued him; she seemed very shy and nervous, but totally at ease with everyone around her.

He wasn't sure if this was some sort of briefing or what, but he was eager to make progression as to where this team could take him.

@[member="Thurion Heavenshield"] @[member="Jeela Tillian "]@[member="Anders Sivas"] @[member="Katrine Van Derveld"]

"Know why, @[member="Thurion Heavenshield"]?" I pipe up, hoping into a chair and putting my elbows on the table. "Know why Nina doesn't speak? I could take a look. Or Coryth, she's epic with the healy fingers. I'm just a student. S'what I do, folks. I heal. Cuts, bruises, emotional pain, come see me." I wink at the room, keeping light. Life's tough enough for those of us with the gumption to get up and be active agents within it, the least we can do is have someone who knows how to lighten the mood. And with this crowd…. I might need to throw an impromptu pillow fight/ice cream social every few moons or so.

I'll be that guy! Dun dun dun daaaah! I nod to @[member="Connor Harrison"] as he takes his seat. "Oh yay! A catcher. Brightens my day, Harrison. Brightens it well. I've been to Anaxes. It's… so I remember a lot of naval research labs and shore leavers going home… it was nice!"

It's tricky, dealing with a mute who touches for language. I feel for @[member="Katrine Van Derveld"]. "Umbaran's not the easiest. I only know like, seventeen phrases. And like, thirteen of those phrases aren't fit for childish ears. Hard to come across."

Jeela nodded to return @[member="Katrine Van Derveld"]'s greeting. "Nice to meet you. I'm Jeela Tillian." She took a step back towards the wall as the others walked in, and she paused to listen. That was the easiest way to get to know people. Especially when one was so used to being a bit of an outsider. It started becoming second nature, really, and lonely at times, but so was life. Not all could live up to the bar the way they should. She shook her head slightly. "Never been to Anaxes."

Connor pushed his chair back and forth with his boots, holding his jaw in his hand and looking around the room.

He suddenly felt paranoid - was he one of the eldest here? He didn't feel it...but everyone looked that bit younger.

That was paranoia for you. He was only 30.

Sitting in her little room, Jasmine thought about what was going to happen. Some people were supposed to come to the ship, most likely about to travel with them. She had been here only for a little time and she had briefly met Nina. Now it was about to change. Telling herself, that she has to go out to meet people, she stood up and walked directly to a small mirror. Before seeing herself, she didn't even know how her hair looked or how wrinkled her clothing was, but as soon as she saw herself, one thought came into her mind: "I look like a hobo..."

As she turned around and hurried towards the little basket in which she held her typical clothing, she worried about the people. She already heard some noise coming from somewhere outside her room. It seemed like people were already gathering.

Searching through her basket, she only found a robe which had belonged to her sister. It had been a gift from their aunt. Well, she wasn't their real aunt, but she was the only one to care about them... sometimes. The base colour of the robe was dark red, but it had dark purple ornaments. And there was a symbol which had no meaning, like Jasmine had come to understand. She would've never known, that it was the official sign of the Council of Sorcery, which her sister had founded.

As she put the robe on, covering her clothes which looked really bad today, she started moving out of her room, towards all the people. She didn't care about setting her hair in a style.

As soon as she arrived to the group, she smiled and tried to sound as happy as possible when she said: "Hi!"

Jeela turned as @[member="Jasmine Lancaster"] entered and she gave a small sme and nod of her head in return. "Hello, I am honked to meet you. My name is Jeela."

Life was much more different for me now. After leaving my home world with @[member="Thurion Heavenshield"], I always felt sick to my stomach. Like I was doing something wrong. THough I was not. As I walked towards the conference room, I was dressed in a simple Spaghetti strap shirt that hugged my form. And pants with sneakers. I had my hair curly and done up in s simple pony tail. As I walked in, I could see shapes everywhere. Each different colors and brightness. All hanging around the people who were there. I nodded to each in turn. Deciding that this was a place for me to learn, I simply raised my hand, "Hello, sorry about being a little late." Thurion was standing next to a few others that were around him. Each meeting him, and others. He was the focal point of this group of people. Bringing them here to possibly work and enjoy one another's company.

Without actually saying anything Thurion greeted both Jasmine and Teresa respectively with a nod, followed by a smile. Patting little Nina's head with the palm of his hand, he then directed his attention to everyone gathered in the room. "My friends, if I may steal your attention for a bit..." he spoke as he moved over to one of the many chairs within the room, surrounding the one round table in the middle. Pulling out a seat for his baby girl to sit on, he gestured to all the others. "Please, have a seat, everyone." He pushed the chair back towards the table with Nina sitting in it. Thurion himself would not take a seat before everyone else had. He'd been raised better than that.

Once everyone was seated he sat down in the chair next to Nina on his right, and Jasmine on his left. They were the first ones he'd encountered on his travels, and so they were special to him in that regard. That said, everyone in the room was a highly valued person and member of his little group who he respected equally. That was the key word, here; equality. None of them within that room was any better than the one sitting next to them. This was a collaborative effort they would be a part of, and not even he who had gathered them all here had any more say in the matter than the others.

Drat, that was awkward. Being asked to be seated when you already were.

Connor raised himself out of his chair in a feeble effort to seat himself with the others once more, once more starting to rock himself slowly as those around him took their seats and the room went quiet.

Looking around as discreetly as he could, he felt a power from the Force emanating around him that he hadn't felt in, well, many years since his accident on Rhen Var. It caused him to smile softly.

Progress already amongst such powerful beings was a check box he had made the right choice to accompany this gentle giant Thurion.

He rested his arms on his knees and waited for the silence.

"A seat I shall take." I hop into the chair next to @[member="Connor Harrison"] and wave at the newcomers. Should be a happy if shy group, and I'm looking forward to figuring it all out in due time. "Thank you, @[member="Thurion Heavenshield"]"

Guess he doesn't know what made his little Nina mute. Oh well, there'll be plenty of time to figure things out later.

After Jasmine had sat down, Thurion sat on a chair next to hers, and she smiled to him, just like she smiled to everybody else when she managed to have an eye contact with them. Hoping, that they are all really friendly and their relationship... no, their 'family' will be happy together, she didn't even think about the conflicts which may rise sometimes. She personally just wanted to manage talking to all of them. Wouldn't it be a shame if she never talked to them, even though she lived with them?

She didn't recognize any familiar faces besides the two she already knew, which meant only one thing: she'll have to introduce herself to them. Judging by the current situation, Jasmine thought that's what's going to happen; everybody will have to talk about themselves. Of course, since Jasmine is a rather shy person, she started preparing her speech. As she had lived with Thurion and Nina for some time already, it would've been logical if she were to introduce herself right after the 'family head' had talked about himself.

Indeed, only if that's what was going to happen.

Jeela took a seat next @[member="Jasmine Lancaster"] and waited to see how this would play out. So far, it wasn't something she quite recognized as an activity. Were they all just going to introduce themselves? Or something else? She started tapping the armrest of her chair with her fingers, but stopped when she realized she was doing it. No need to be annoying already, but she needed to move around and do something.
