DESCRIPTION

With the introduction of the Yuuzhan Vong colony of Rodia to the Confederacy of Independent Systems, a series of new, Vong-originated analogs were created to bolster their military forces. Amongst these were the Yaret-Cri, which are yet another derivative of the standard Yaret-Kor. Unlike the Yaret-Shel, which adds the additional effect of electrically-charging its shots to mimic the effects of Ion Cannons, the Yaret-Cri add in two additional "steps". The first of which is the utilization of additional material in the creation of their shots, which increases the time between shots. The result of this is a shot which is larger than that produced by a typical Yaret-Kor. The second, additional "step" which has been incorporated into the shot creation process is the building up of additional pressure within the Yaret-Cri's firing chamber whilst the material is in being heated. The gathering of the pressure in this chamber, in order to be able to produce the desired range upon firing the shot, adds additional time between shots and requires a larger chamber than what would be able to be accommodated on smaller capital ships or starfighters.

The end result of this additional steps is a larger shot that is launched with an impressive sum of force that amounts to essentially double the range of a typical Yaret-Kor. Much akin to the Long-Range Turbolaser that this cannon is an analog to, the Yaret-Cri, as aforementioned, has drawbacks that make its existence possible. First and foremost, as aforementioned, the weapon cannot be mounted on smaller capital ships or starfighters. Second, there is quite a large sum of time between shot. Third, it is noted that the total sum of potential damage a shot does decreases over the distance it travels; for the molten rock loses mass as it traverses its trajectory.

As long as it is understood that this can only be used by Vong ships, this is approved. Pending secondary.
