- Tactical Supremacy: The Hurricane is designed, as opposed to it's cousin the Starlion, as a mid-ranged bomber for rebel cells and operations. Designed as a way for rebel cells to hit hard and fast, while also allowing it to act as a weapon against local invasion, giving rebel cells the option to kill larger walkers from above, rather than risking close air support.
- Aegis: The shields of the Hurricane are designed to be quadrupedal redundant, and are designed to allow the bomber to simply ignore interceptors and anti-air fire in favor of focusing on it's primary objectives
- Folding Wings: The massive wings of the Hurricane allow it true stability, acting as platforms for small repuslorjets, that allow it to keep stable even under fire, or in severe weather conditions. The wings are disigned however, to fold up during landing, to allow the Hurricane to keep it's hanger space relatively low.
- Lack of Firepower: While the Hurricane is designed for bombing missions, it's actual accompaniment of guns is lacking. While it can dish out heavy punishment with it's bombs, it relies mostly on it's shields to protect it in fights with enemy air support, as well as escorts.
- Block Out The Sun: While the Hurricane's presence is a huge morale boost to friendly forces, it's massive silhouette does mean it's a prime target for ground to air fire, and enemy fighters.
The Wild Space Rebellion's growing strength throughout Wild Space has meant that local cells have requested heavier firepower. While the Starlion and heavier ships require whole crews to operate, Si Tech came up with a compromise that would allow individual rebel cells to have the ability to strike and defend themselves against more reinforced targets. The Hurricane, a tactical bomber that would allow the rebellion to counter heavy enemy armor, as well as a potential solution to the Empire's reliance on Capital Ships.
