Wrath

TRENWYTH SYSTEM
FIV Gorgon, Command Bridge
Operation Wrath

The large Vanquisher-Class Star Destroyer slowly crept toward the lush green world. A flurry of escort vessels clung to its hull, slowly dispersing. They were task force Imperator, and the objective was the liberation of Trenwyth. Intelligence the FOSB and a group of refugees had returned with indicated the Ssi-Ruuk were using the world as a form of mass entechment, and a logistics centre for the their further raids into First Order territory. Now it was time to strike back against this enemy and disable once and for all.

"Grand Admiral," The Sensor Officer barked from his station within the portside crew pit, "We have enemy contacts detected at the edge of the planets orbit." The lieutenant reported. "Ssi-Ruuk battlecruisers, they appear to be docked." A small smirk came across the visage of Grand Admiral Rausgeber's glass 'face'. Good. He could see it in the distance. Two hefty hunks of metal, moored on what appeared to be repair stations, orbited by a few smaller cruisers and frigates.

"Seems we caught them with their trousers down
." The Grand Admiral smugly drawled, "Move to engagement position, and dispatch the Retribution Corps." The Imperator commanded with a renewed vigor in his voice. "We must be quick. We must be fast. We must destroy."

Objective One: The Journeyman Wildlife Resort, one of Trenwyth's premier luxury hotels is a settlement the Ssi-Ruuk have fortified to become their base on the planets surface. Hundreds of civilian and First Order personnel now sit within its cabins, waiting to be hauled off for entechment within the greater hotel facility. Rescue these prisoners and wipe out the Ssi-Ruuk presence. Avenge the fallen.

Objective Two: CommScan has detected two Ssi-Ruuvi battlecruisers undergoing what it appears to be extensive repairs or refits. The stations they're docked to seem to be awfully ramshackle in nature, and present an opportunity to sabotage the Imperium's fleet in this sector.

Vordon had only recently joined the First Order, a Disciple of Ren. So much less then he could become. But to rise, he had to prove he deserved it. And so, that's exactly what he was going to do. Whether in this battle or the next. As they closed in the Shaper dawned a helmet, leaping into his TIE/RBFO Heavy Starfighter. No doubt, a non permanent ship, he was fairly certain he wanted to have it upgrade. But it would do just fine for now. He wasn't a pilot by nature, but he knew how they worked, and he had splendid reflexes. Things he was going to rely on for this battle. In any case, he wasn't intending on being a part of the space battle any longer then he had to, where he belonged, as on the ground.

As they prepared for deployment he ran a finger across the side of his Dragon, a weapon designed by him, more befitting a Shaper then the simple light weapons used by so many others. This was a weapon fit for war, and that's exactly where they were going.

He waited patiently. And once the order would be given, he would fly the ship down as swiftly as possible towards The Journeyman Wildlife Resort where his objective was, doing his best to avoid the fire, if there was any yet, from the enemy fighters. He would get down there, assess the situation, then wreak terror on their enemies.

Pravina was already less anxious and more confident in herself than she had been at the beginning of her first sortie. She was still a cadet, but she had already managed to overcome the fear associated with going into battle in a craft that many considered to be a flying coffin in spite of the various improvements made over the years in order to improve pilot survivability. Even so, the fear would always remain. It was a daily exercise for Pravina to fortify her nerves against it so that she would not find herself paralyzed in the face of seemingly inevitable death. After all, the act of overcoming fear was what it meant to be a warrior. If it weren’t, everyone back on Pa’Desh would have joined the First Order without hesitation.

She found her fighter fully prepared within the hangar immediately after the briefing was finished. After putting on her helmet, the diminutive pilot quickly ascended the ladder and slid into the seat of her designated craft. Then, she flipped a few switches and the twin ion engines roared to life behind her.

“Pilots, launch fighters at will!” The demanding voice of the wing leader bellowed out over her comms. Like a swarm of giant wasps emerging from a hive, a group of over twenty fighters flew out from the belly of the Vanquisher-Class Star Destroyer. Pravina quickly formed up on her squadron leader before positioning her craft in echelon to leading craft in order to establish a Vic formation with the other fighters in her squad. The idle chatter over the comms dimmed when the squadron leader suddenly bellowed out orders to prepare missiles for firing. She set her targeting systems on one of the two battlecruisers undergoing a refit. It was a very vulnerable target, but nonetheless a high priority.

When the group of TIEs were within range, the order was given to fire immediately. With a single press of a button, Pravina fired a diamond born missile at one of the battlecruisers docked outside of the station. The high-output projectile sped towards its designated target just as the order was given to break formation in order to engage a rapidly growing swarm of Ssi-ruuk superiority fighters...

Vlannem felt his body tense as the bomber flew from the hangar bay, slowed behind the wave of TIE fighters which departed from the hangar. Krayt Squadron, which was made of four Demolisher bombers, would take up the rear. The clunky birds were well equipped for the task which lay ahead. Although Vlannem already felt that this would be a rough one. He knew the Ssi-Ruuk and what they were like, they all did. And now, with the Gorgon feeding them data and two battlecruisers, plus escorts on site, a sense of impending dread festered within the man. This was not good. Not good at all.

"All systems green lieutenant." Argy barked. She was a tough sort. Flight officer from Dosuun, so she'd lost more than most. "We're all set." Pox nestled himself in his seat, and breathed out. The sigh was audible, even within the helm.

"Looks like we'll start an approach vector, hang back till command gives us an idea where to hit." Vlannem drily mused, shifting the bomber into formation. "Keep sharp boys," He added, watching the sensor screen pick up, "Looks like we have hostiles coming, sixty degrees." The bomber moved closer to the Ssi-Ruuk formation, and began to open fire. Supporting its nimbler brothers and sisters.

Objective Two
TIE Silencer

Kyrel was back into the fray of things once more, participating in the First Imperial Remnants campaign against the Ssi-Ruuk. In hopes of gaining what was lost. He would participate in the campaign with one of the newest of Knights of Ren, a smile adorned his lips at how the religion was not lost so quickly, nor had it died out. But kept a surviving influence still. With aiding the so called Zrak Ren in rescuing the civillains and taking out the fortifications they set up along the resort. Kyrel came well prepared for such a mission. They would have to depart through the use of TIE Fighters. Entering the Hanger of the FIV Gorgan. With his own fighter, he spotted a heavy TIE FIghter. He eyed it carefully thinking that it perhaps belonged to a new model of sorts.

Kyrel approached his own TIE next to it. It was his pride and joy. The TIE Silencer, an ancient designed claimed to have been used by Kylo Ren himself. Brought back by the work of Kyrel. Fitted more as a fast fighter and a heavy hitter to both fighters and capital ships alike. A little more advanced compared to the new model before him. He patiently waited for orders to be commenced, as he silently meditated within the cockpit of the craft.

Perhaps even thinking of a time when the First Order could be brought back. Perhaps that was a dream indeed worth fighting for, but already knew that it was going to be a very long road. He sat patiently the TIE Engines roaring as he started the main systems. Their objective lied down below.

Zrak glanced out noticing the TIE Silencer as it was placed next to his, it was an admirable ship to be sure. Not that Zrak had many opinions on ships, he just needed something and took what he had. It was efficient enough for him, and that was all he cared about at the moment. Until later. The Silencer was most likely a good bit faster he imagined.

He knew there was other Ren's he'd have to work with, mixed feelings on that. Regardless, it was a good chance, and he would take advantage of it. Things would begin soon enough, and Zrak was eager to get it going, but he'd be patient until it was time.

A series of final preparation orders, and finally, "Launch Fighters." Zrak grinned setting his mind to controlling his ship, setting out of the hangar once he had the chance with the rest, he wasn't some specialist pilot, which meant he'd have to focus on thought and working with the others on the way down to the planet. The actual aerial combatants were already out there, good that'd make his job getting to the planet easier, still...it also meant they were already warned about the incoming attack.

"Here we go." he muttered pushing the engines to full throttle, it had moderate speed for it's size. Good enough to be manageable but it was an assault ship not an evasion ship, he caught sight of a few fighters that had managed to split off from the main force. Likely realizing that they needed to defend their planet, unfortunately, no doubt, most of them weren't prepared. There was barely even a full set of fighters and they were only just now on their way, if they did reach the group, it'd be almost right on the atmosphere. They were small though, it shouldn't take much, they weren't prepared yet. Conveniently. "Got some enemy fighters, five it seems." he warned to the rest.

Two options, keep straight and use the side Solar Ionization Cannons or try and turn to face them. He groaned, he could shoot from behind if he had to, and he'd rather keep en route then try and make this a fighter battle. He kept forwards focusing the cannons on the fighters and letting loose a small set of blasts at a time, they were powerful, and if they landed would likely bypass shields and instead melt the hulls of the target, hopefully, or shatter their viewports. On the downside he was going to take care how he used them, for the sake of observing the intense power loss they could take on the ship.

The Death Trooper stood towering above all in the cramped confines of the lander. Adrenaline flowed through his body, congealing his form in the sticky confines of his armour. He was ready. This was his first chance at the lizard scum since Bakura, and he relished it. His fist clenched on the hand guard, as the assault lander streamed through the void. The first wave of Retribution Corps had managed to pierce the void with little resistance, the wave of TIE fighters deployed, more than ample enough to cover the assault of automated drones.

The group of four transports set themselves for the eastern portion of the camp, at its outskirts. The Ssi-Ruuk had erected a few makeshift defensive positions, in the form of guard towers, and barricades made of tree logs. A quick barrage of lasers, and small missiles cleared away a few watch towers and static defence posts, allowing for a very quick delivery of forces. As the transports touched down, their servos groaned, the doors opened, and the first wave stormed out. Rexus was the first man on the scene, pressing forward and entering the camp through the scorched entrance.

"Opfor, this is Avenger One." He snarled into his mic, "Successful deployment, we are moving."

What had been a small group of five superiority fighters quickly swelled to a squadron of twelve, and then to a veritable swarm of over thirty hostile craft. Among the enemy formation, the RBFO’s droid intelligence identified a squadron of eight bombers and two squadrons of twenty-four fighters. The targeting systems immediately worked in tandem with the hull-mounted sensors to create a three-dimensional diagram of the battlespace within her HUD, which included the approximate positions of both friendly and hostile assets. Based on the information presented to her and her own visual observation of the situation, Pravina ascertained that the bombers had been formed up behind the screen of hostile fighters. It appeared that the Ssi-Ruuk intended to defend their battlecruisers by going on the offensive as well.

Only the diamond boron missile fired by Pravina managed to inflict any degree of damage on the docked battlecruiser, but only because it came first. The rest were intercepted by the station’s shields, which were raised just in time to block the other seven projectiles, resulting in a burst of premature explosions as the missiles were intercepted by the projected energy barrier.

“Weapons free, destroy those fighters!” The wing leader bellowed over the comms as Pravina locked her craft’s targeting systems onto a charging superiority fighter. Just before her target had the chance to maneuver defensively, the twin cannons of Pravina’s TIE ignited and fired a cyan barrage of four solarized bolts into the predicted path of the oncoming fighter. Three of her shots connected with their target, which was enough to send the craft into an uncontrolled spiral while the unfortunate saurian pilot attempted to eject from the doomed craft. Only a half-second before the craft exploded, the pilot managed to force themselves from the craft, but it would not be long until he realized that his EVA suit had sustained an invisible puncture from a tiny piece of microscopic shrapnel which would result in a faster than normal rate of oxygen bleed within the cold void of space. Fortunately for the pilot, Pravina was not cruel or stupid enough to fire at the saurian while he floated aimlessly in the void, so the creature still held a small chance at retaining his life.
