There was a touch of darkness Daegon could feel coming from the Exarch, enough to force an amused smirk to tug at the Viceroy's lips. THe Demon of Thyferra knew battle between giving into the darkness and clinging to something else. Seraphina was his light, the one who kept him from giving in completely to the evil which demanded to claim him. Were it not for her Daegon would have been far gone. Those close to him had seen just how much of an anchor The Angel of Thyferra truly was. Daegon had slipped closer, and had Muad Dib had his way, The Demon would have entirely succumb.
The Confederacy was neutral in many ways, but they certainly seemed to attract those who were accepting of the dark side. Daegon could not complain as he himself had given over to darker teachings long ago. Still it was good to know that wherever he turned there would be opportunity to find those of like mind and like alignment. The future would necessitate that he had more allies than he had permitted in the past.
John Locke was a good start.
"Daegon, please. We are not here under the same formalities that the sessions of the Viceroyalty demand, nor are we among strangers negotiating a diplomatic resolution."
His head bowed slightly as he looked to the Exarch with as much sincerity as The Demon knew to muster.
"Shall we simply say that today we are friends, and call each other as friends would, hmm?"
It was a simple question, but one laced with the implications of a well practiced politician. Should the Exarch agree, Daegon knew he had a potential ally, and a powerful one. It was not lost on him the Exarch was also the head of Locke and Key Mechanics. Daegon's career in the Confederacy was not the only one which would benefit from such an arrangement. Nanotechnology was something which escaped Xucphra Corporation, something Daegon needed to break into. Medical technology was changing, and while there would always be a market for Bacta, The Demon knew he needed to diversify.
"Lead the way good, sir. I am afraid that such technology repairs are more your expertise. Should we run into someone that needs to be convinced of a thing, then we shall rely on my oratory prowess."
Seraphina would certainly have some kind of retort to such a comment. How witty was the Tech Mogul?

An orange Torguta strode through the bustling crowd abuzz in various forms of triage and care. Unsurprisingly, the woman was not smoking though with all the commotion a little distraction wouldn't have killed anyone. Not strictly speaking sanitary though. The sacrifices one makes. "Exarch, your skill would be put to better use elsewhere, yes? Matters of personnel and supply will be orchestrated while you ply your considerable talents in other ways to keep these people alive to enjoy tomorrow."

A little squeak of alarm had Avadna's right hand snap up and out in the poor soul's direction. A few boxes of various supplies had frozen in the air, suspended above the heads of the innocent. After the shock of not being pelted in the head wore off, they sheepishly set to work collecting the packages.

Avadna turned her green gaze back to John Locke John Locke with a clinical smile on her lips. "Please hurry." With a wink, she turned to find another woman nearby. A rather muscular looking one. Must make moving patients in and out of bed easier.

"Name's Avadna. Hope you'll let me know yours. Need anything to keep the flow moving? Seen areas in need of support just by keeping an eye on things?" the Torguta asked of Danielle Mueller. Hopefully the woman would be in a charitable mood; bring the newcomer up to speed and all that.

A red armored blur slid across the ground before it came to a stop. The pale woman's head whipped back and her green eyes settled on Starcaster Starcaster as she straightened to her full height. "Were you the one from earlier?" Maybe the giant beast was proving difficult to tame, but that didn't mean the Nightmother was oblivious to other's contributions to the effort. "How long can you conjure lightning? Ten seconds?"

Vytal had an idea. One that would seem foolish given the capabilities of the creature, but only if the beast could still move. An overwhelming burst of electricity should stun its nervous system long enough.

She sat within a large meeting hall on the diplomatic yacht. Her eyes were bound with pale yellow satin whilst her attire was streamlined. A white and gold dress that flattered her nearly frail form whilst a pair of glimmering wings rest along her back. It almost gave the illusion that she was wearing a cloak, when truly, it was just a part of her. Curling auburn locks were left free to spill over light caramel shoulders while her hands rest in her lap. Seraphina liked to feel useful.

The room was now empty. Void of the men and women that Daegon had requested that she speak to on his behalf. The softness of her aura had brought the delegates peace of mind while they decided on the correct course of delivering bacta provisions and equipment. The consensus had been a simple one. They needed more than they had. They had more sick patients than they knew what to do with. The fact that Thyferra had come to ease their suffering without requiring something fierce and costly in return had left them uneasy.

At first.

Part of the discussion played back in her mind. Her sense of sight had been lost but she still remembered everything she had ever heard. Every sound with perfect clarity. They were worried that it would come back to harm them, or, their people. She’d tried her best to reassure them but it had taken the better part of the trip. Seraphina had promised that should they decline services that the Xucphra Corporation would withdraw. Nothing was being forced upon them nor were they indebted.

In the end—The delegates agreed.

How could they not?

It was in the best interest of the people. Every government official, even the corrupt, knew when to do something for the betterment of those beneath them. It would have likely caused a riot to decline.

Now, alone, she went over the details with the aid of a droid and a holo-recorder. She could have orders drawn up with only her voice. Deciding which facility got what delivery took quite some time. It was based on patient capacity and the severity of the illnesses. When she was through it felt like she’d been working on it forever. Her head felt a little foggy and her sightless eyes even felt heavy.

“Contact Daegon…”, she murmured softly. Her voice was melodic, sweet, and the Holo-Table she was using immediately sought out her husband. At least she had good news for him. When he answered his voice was a balm to her sudden exhaustion. He had followed the Confederate Exarch to help out at one of the hospitals and she hadn’t heard from him since. “My love.”

The greeting was short. He would hear the slight strain in her tone.

“The delegates are satisfied with our intent. I have arranged for their delivery drops at their specified coordinates. We should include security. With that much high-grade bacta on the move…It would be a tempting prize.”

It was her delicate way of saying: There be pirates, beware.

The cyborg slipped his hands into his pockets, a well-practised gesture that came as almost second nature to him now. Hiding his hands in his pockets as he turned on his heel, shoes tapping on the floor as he let the Viceroy fall into place next to him. Dark eyes flicked to the side to watch the well-dressed Viceroy next to him, flicking over his suit as a small smile turned up the corner of the man’s lips.

“Well, I’ll tell you what, if we run into it you can always try to convince the oil pipes not to drip on your suit while we work.”

He didn’t think the electrical system would be too bad a problem to fix, the hospital had always had enough power to run it’s systems and he couldn’t think of anything new that would have been added in the last few hours. However, with the issues in the city, the worms crawling through the city were no doubt messing with the powerlines running through the city to reach the hospital. John’s eyes started to glow turquoise as he reached out to the city’s computer systems, letting the data scroll across his vision. The power systems had a decent firewall, a system that lasted all of 3 seconds against the Exarch’s slicing as he reaching out, re-routing the power flow. Bypasssing areas of the grid that had gone dark as he passed off control to EX. The AI would constantly be able to reroute power as the worms damaged the powerlines. Keeping the hospital powered would have top priority.

Pushing open a door, the Exarch’s head nodded at the pipes, smirking over at Daegon as he arched an eyebrow.

“Well, there’s your captive audience.”

A few steps carried him over to the fusebox, flipping the switches as the lights slid over from red to green as the lights flickered back to life.

“There we go.”

Force triumphed over nature.

In rapid succession, a series of events spiraled one after the next. It all began with the monstrosity bearing down upon the Obsidian Host and their Allies. With the might to burrow through the earth at whim, the threat posed was astronomical. Yet the combined efforts of the souls on the ground would not be denied. Their skills and weapons held true - and with a guttural cry that chilled the bone, life had come to an end. The worm was no human. It did not rest upon the earth to become ashes and dust. Rather, in its demise, a noxious goop began to form. Quickly, its form deteriorated - and into the slime did the beast descend.

And in the darkness of its demise came Light. Above, the efforts of savvy minds and brilliant hands had resulted in restoration. Blessed illumination was now available - valuable power to accomplish the task of saving lives. Moreover, an accord had been struck compliments of the Angel. Bacta was on its way to the troubled world. The means to quickly mend and make whole was on the horizon.

Below, the remains of the threat were uncovered as well. In the dark, the eggs were no longer a mystery. My fire, blade, and blaster were they rooted out. The threat to Quesaya would be no more after this day. Peace would return. Order would return. And a new entrant into the southern Community had been received.

"Even I am not so skilled to do such a thing," Daegon said in regards to the pipes. It would be a worthy skill if one could simply command oil spills to avoid such fine clothes, however it seemed it was a law of nature that when one wore something so nice it was bound to get dirty.
A soft chuckle escaped Daegon's lips as he quickly found John's humor to be dry yet entertaining. There was nothing wrong with a dry humor. It reminded him of his friend Derek, though he was much more of a showman. There were few who could manage to elicit such a genuine smile from Daegon in the way this Exarch had. Perhaps it was time for the man to expand upon his circle of friends to include the cyborg and make good on the words he had spoken just a few moments ago.
The easy of the solution in fixing the electrical problems was comical. It literally had been a flip of a switch.
"It seems the pipes did not need my exhortation after all. Just a push of a button it seems."
Just then his comm chirped to life. As if on cue the moment he would find himself straying too far from the work Seraphina had been doing. A full smile graced his lips.
"My Angel," he answered her greeting. "I will be sure to double the security then. Perhaps I could convince the Exarch to assist with deploying a military Exarch. John Locke and I we asked to look into an electrical problem. All is fixed, and we are returning soon."
Eyes turned to the Exarch.
"We may be expecting another for dinner this evening?"
It was a question to them both, something to ponder.
"I shall let you know. I will be by your side shortly."
Daegon looked back to John once more with a satisfied look.
"It seems that the delegates are finally convinced our supplies are coming out of good will. However, Seraphina has caught wind of possible pirate activity, and with such high grade bacta... perhaps this would be a moment to demonstrate the Confederacy is more than capable of protecting the humanitarian efforts we oversee?"
A simple question, one Daegon was certain had a simple answer.

Job Posting: Search & Destroy Giant Worms

Eggs. Aria chalked up their destruction for the tally, but those were childishly easy. Annoying, bothersome, and boring, but that's what comes of easy. No, the thing she was charging extra for was the enormous cocoon. She took a still of it for when the paper-pushers doubted its existence or why they needed to pay up. Imagine a cocoon with a worm that could devour a town building inside it that was the size of thing. As it turned out it was slightly bigger too -- the one everyone had for reference was close, but not quite big enough yet. Soon there'd be two cocoons. Then three, four, ten...

So, of course Aria expected them to pay up. Far as she was concerned they'd uncovered the important objective of this mission. Save the town. Saves the townsfolk. All well and good, but that only bought them time.

The cocoon was a bit large to try roasting it with a wrist-mounted flamethrower, however. It wasn't a giant pile of dry tinder waiting to turn into the world's largest pyre. A blaster might as well be a peashooter to something so large, and a blade was a splinter -- both annoying, but ultimately only serving to rouse, not kill whatever was inside.

Instead, they arranged for the Confederacy to supply a nice, big, all encompassing explosive for the task. A humble requisition intended to sanitize the entire cavern. Getting it down there had been a pain, of course. Miners may have bored a shaft into the depths, but they hadn't made it to specifications for transporting ordinance down it. The last leg where no rail existed was especially annoying, but once it was in they had plenty of room to tuck it into place.

Then bug out.

As the Mandalorian walked away from the mine, waiting about 30 meters from its mouth, she lifted the detonator in one hand and pressed the button. An almost audible thud and rumble could be heard as the earth bucked and trembled. It took a second for the fiery death to burst out of the mine's mouth and cast a plume of smoke, ash, and rock over the surrounding area. Not that Aria seemed to notice as she kept walking.

Another job complete.

"A little under thirty seconds, actually. Longer if I'm actually angry with my target. Why do you ask?" Zeke asked curiously after concluding with the Viceroy, drawing the hilt of his double-blade in his right hand, and flipping off the ledge and channeling the Force to cushion his landing. "You look like someone who has a plan for killing this beast."

Through the shadow of the Force hiding his face, the glow in his eyes began to show red on the left, blue on the right. His left hand began to crackle with lightning again, while from the black metal half of the double-blade grew a shaft of blue accompanied by the tell-tale sound of ignition. He stood listening for instructions and watching the worm like an ambush predator.

Thirty seconds? Even better. "The Witches will lure the worms in one area. Use your lightning on the group and hold it as long as you can. If you must sacrifice power for longevity, do so. Hurry. This may be our only chance to get them all at once," the Nightmother explained to the man whom she just met. With the largest worm conjuring the rest this would be their best chance.

Vytal surged forward once more as the Sisters and Brothers crated barriers to try funneling and containing the creatures. The acid would make such ineffective most of the time, but timed right it could deliver a blow from blow to redirect their path momentarily. In that moment, she shouted, "Now!" Then the Nightmother stepped forward and began weaving her hands in the air. "Icachi, lend us your power to reshape the world. Burrow under the creatures that call the earth their home. Turn their greatest strength into their humiliating defeat." The Great Spirit of Chaos brought great power to the field, even if precision was not its strength. She did not need precision, however.

The earth beneath the beasts sunk into the ground as the world was twisted on command. The trenches were rough in shape, ragged and not made for movement, but they served their purpose -- designing an earthen coffin. Teeth grittered together, the Nightmother and the Witches in the area focused on conjuring a sea of iron skewers that shot from all three sides around the worms. Zeke's lightning was instrumental in this by paralyzing the worms for the spikes to fill them full of holes. A box made of dirt and rock would be absolutely ineffective against the creatures if they could still move. Held still, however, they were easy prey.

Skylar fell earthward, and in the time it took her to finally land, although it wasn’t very long felt a lot longer as events happened around her. Once she landed on the ground a short sigh of relief escaped her lips as she stood up and realized it wasn’t as cold as when she had vaulted into the air. The worm was more aggravated than it had been before and it took Skylar all she had to dodge the tail as it whipped around to strike at anyone or anything. Once she was out of range Skyar looked around for her master but had lost her in the short dangerous events that had just transpired.

Her attention was grasped by the chanting she suddenly heard coming from the various characters that had gathered and surrounded the worm’s location. The Lady in Red was among them and a new person she had not seen before, but Darkness flowed through him, however it didn’t feel hostile toward anyone except the creatures.

Skylar watched as the witches performed their ritualistic attack on the worm and its kin and she was in awe of the otherworldly power they possessed that felt strange within the Force. She now had so many questions she had to ask her master, but she would probably not be able to ask them right away as she was sure a reprimand was in order for her brash behavior.

“Probably going to end up going back to the Temple.” Skylar grumbled to herself as she placed her lightsaber hilt back in its resting place on her hip. “Who’d want a padawan who just runs into danger and gets themself in trouble?” She sat down on a large rock and watched the witches do whatever they were doing to the worms and waited for Vitaara to come and scold her like the masters at the Temple most likely would do.
