Private Working of the Forge

With a pad in one hand, the hazel-eyed Shaman strode down the halls of Tor Valum on Kestri.

Runi didn't like conducting matters of State at the Briirud in Resa. All Mandalorians, even those in leadership, were welcome to visit, of course, but given a choice... The point of Resa being recluse was so the every-day wasn't present. If there was talk of visiting dignitaries or a gathering of Enclave leaders that would defeat the entire point. Some people needed to not think at all about the Big Picture or what could be happening outside of Resa. They needed to focus on themselves for a moment.

Details regarding a shipment of medical supplies scrolled slowly across the screen. Their distribution would ensure a large number of wounded or afflicted people would be back on their feet. It was good to see some connections with those outside of the Enclave bearing fruit. There were many in need on the Rim.

Her eyes lifted from the screen at the hail of a vod in passing. Runi gave them a small smile and stopped to talk about their day, their family... She felt it was as important to be aware every Mandalorian as a person as it was the Enclave as a whole. Not that she, alone, could hope to speak with each of them individually, of course. When an opportunity presented itself, however, the Shaman didn't mind making a little time.

After a time, they parted and Runi slowly resumed her movement through the halls. A few taps and several reports on refugee housing aligned themselves on the screen next. Runi glided into a chamber as she reviewed the details. Not everyone found or saved had somewhere to go. Many homes were lost in the struggles on the Rim or elsewhere in the galaxy. Kestri was hardly a haven most would desire to build a homestead. Hefi was better and not that far so they could still benefit from the Enclave's protection as it sought to reassemble its sphere of influence. The hard work of dedicated men and women helped constructed needed shelter for souls in need. Some were passed on elsewhere, but the Enclave would not turn down those with skills to help the Enclave's economic development.

At least Runi would not turn any such people down. Kranak and Vren might require convincing at times, but she liked to think it didn't take much convincing.

Next, she began to review reports of criminal activity and disturbances. It caused a slight downturn to Runi's lips. The sooner the Enclave finished reestablishing its presence in the Rim the sooner the frequency of these reports could decrease. Little chance it would do anything about the rogue elements threatening the peace, like on Kashyyyk, but Runi didn't worry about things she could not change. They would deal with matters in their control, and work steadily toward a future that benefited all Mandalorians.

BILLY THE KID

Things were changing.

Rapidly.

Vren had to conduct more diplomacy in the small bit of time since his return to Kestri than what he had to do in his entire Karjr career. How he wished he could return to those simpler times. But things were getting hotter and he sometimes wondered if he still had it in him to go in the direction the Enclave was going now.

But he stuck around.

There was a crease between his brows as he made his way from the Karjr HQ to the Iyarsa Spire. The reports that come through by the minute, ain't good. Criminal activity had skyrocketed to a worrying degree across the old Enclave space since the war machine's decline.

All the years he and Siv and other Karjr had worked to keep it at bay and now they were right back where they started.

Wild Space indeed.

He had kept a good enough handle on Tatooine during his time there. But other planets weren't so lucky. They had to start from scratch. Not to mention the worrying political stage with their old allies in the Alliance.

What happened if you were already grey and still had too much too worry about?

Receding hairline next?

"Manda no...." he grumbled.

Hopefully Kran and Runi would be able to shed some light on the chaos. Especially Runi. The two of them had made a good team since his elevation to Guildmaster and with the two of them playing good cop bad cop in diplomatic situations, he had learned to appreciate her more levelheaded approaches.

They've come a long way since he pulled that gun on that Moff.

He marched his way to the Spire, simply nodding at the greetings sent his way. That was another reason why he had fled to Tatooine - he was just known as the Marshall there. Here, many regarded him as some kind of celebrity.

He was anything but.

He just wanted to go back to simple lawman. But here he was instead, making his way to the council chamber where he and Runi and Kran were to meet and discuss what end was up. For the Enclave. Always the Enclave. It was all that remained in some capacity. So the dreaded datapad was in his hand as he walked in.

Runi was already there, nose buried in her own datapad.

"Hope you at least have good news in there, partner." he told her before collapsing his tallish frame into a chair and propping his feet onto the round table.
