- The gauntlet's appearance is nondescript and the firing mechanism is concealed behind a metallic cover when not in-use. The weapon may be made ready quickly.
- Possesses an optical laser-sight which provides precision accuracy up to 30 yards away.
- Small number of different payloads are available from the manufacturer - these include:
A) AP/Standard - Metallic darts which move at an incredibly high rate-of-speed, penetrating most armors & vehicle chassis on the market.
B) Anti-Personnel Explosive - Darts with a tiny explosive charge. Delivers a localized explosive detonation on impact; minimal collateral damage.
C) Homing Beacon - Buries itself within target material upon impact, then begins transmitting a signal over a precise frequency to the wearer - this signal is extremely difficult to detect, as the timing of the pulse varies between 5 - 15 minutes. The signal's maximum range is 1.5km.
- Quick Recovery – Due to a total lack of recoil, the user is able to recover quickly each time a shot is delivered, and the magazine may be expended quickly should the situation call for it. As the size of the magazine is small & the power-source for the system is quite efficient, there is little-to-no loss in effectiveness from the first bolt to the last.
- Powerful Delivery – The firing mechanism is very powerful, delivering a bolt at high velocity. Bolts are difficult to block due to their speed and are capable of penetrating many known materials; in some cases, even possessing the ability to disable electrical systems or incapacitating opponents through precision strikes. Use of explosive warheads provides massive localized trauma along with high penetration.
- Concealed Firepower – It is difficult to identify the gauntlet as being weaponized except through careful inspection. The protective screen which covers the loading mechanism & magazine also engages completely over the firing mechanism when the weapon is not in use. The gauntlet appears to be a simple armored vambrace with a completely enclosed glove.
- Resistant to glancing blows by a lightsaber and highly resistant to bladed weapons.
- May be fired while holding a weapon in one's gloved hand.
- The weapon is difficult to reload under stress; each dart must be loaded by hand, rather than by a detachable magazine.
- All in a Row – Selection & delivery of payloads is based on their order of installment within the weapon's integrated magazine. The user is unable to select at random the type of payload, though a round may be discarded to select the next projectile.
