With the necessity of troop and droid delivery paramount, the designers of Druckenwell Shipyards set out to create a vessel whose sole purpose revolved around getting boots on the ground as swiftly as possible. To this end, the design teams utilized the existing Indoctrination-class Frigate as a general foundation before making a wide variety of changes. The first modification was that of total dimensions, as the Wodrata-class Pod Carrier would need a different volume in order to effective accommodate the pod complement. Next, as opposed to the traditional assortment of metals utilized in hull construction, the engineers chose to utilize reinforced durasteel as the basis for the vessel's frame and plates. Differences in armaments were then installed, as to better protect the drop pods from attack by capital ships and starfighters alike. Then, lastly, the entire hangar space was re-fit and dedicated solely to the equipment required to load and launch the drop pods.
As a whole, the complement consists mainly of Droid drop pods, as they are the mainstay of the Confederacy's military forces; with the minority being dedicated to Marine drop pods. Named after a famed, founding member of the original incarnation of the CIS, the Wodrata-class Pod Carrier is poised to be an excellent addition to the nation's naval forces and a capable envoy for troops.
