Wings of Fire and Durasteel

Ayden sat in the pilot's seat of an M47 Illria-class dropship as it flew through the skylanes above Fondor's capital city. Even when he had been Lord Protector, Ayden had always insisted on flying himself to meetings and other such normal activities. He never wanted to forget what it was like to look after one's self in lieu of power. Such mindsets inevitably led to excess at best, violent oppression at worst. So to be flying his own shuttle across the planet to a meeting hall to discuss matters with a ranking member of the Galactic Alliance. He had designs and prototypes to show them that he was sure they would be impressed with.

Until now, they had mostly been purchasing derelicts and second-hand ships from Corellian Engineering. Ever since the Republic had a rather public meltdown involving its Head of State, he had begun revising old plans and making new ones. He needed a force that could combat the One Sith and work to stabilized the galaxy. The Protectorate had been that force until Akala shattered the backbone of the galactic superpower. It had never recovered from the loss of Corellia and the brief disappearance of almost half its population.

So if the Republic was out, and the Protectorate was no more, then who else could he turn to? Instabilities and corruption were already showing up within the Techno Union (perhaps that region of space was cursed...), the Primeval and Mandalorians were hardly stabilizing forces in the galaxy either. Everywhere he looked, Dark Side cults were spreading and imperialistic forces with a head more for conquering than saving were becoming a credit chit a dozen. That meant he had scant few options there. Fortunately, finding out that OmegaPyre had allied itself with the Galactic Alliance meant a great deal. Since OmegaPyre had given rise to the Protectorate, it siding with the Galactic Alliance was almost as good as a Protectorate endorsement.

It was a nice conference center that he arrived at, one of the ones that he had used to meet smaller delegations when the Prex Tower was undergoing renovations following the Omni attacks. It had some excellent holoprojectors for him to display his designs and would serve as a good place for teleconferencing if other parties were requested. He wasn't exactly sure who he would be talking to, simply a time. If this panned out like he hoped, then Corellian Engineering would have another client to bring in further revenue.
