Public Wild and Free (Rimward Trade/Outer Rim Folk)

Before heading back to the Core to regroup with Starchaser and those that he could help run out to the Rim, Cuan felt it was probably worthwhile to run out to the Rimward Trade League. With the Confederates sniffing around his home world, the Sullustan spent just enough to get home, see his family, update the Home Guard, and resupply his own vessel. His ship was a long ways from his old XJ9, but the Starbird Shuttle that he was flying, the one he used for missions with Peyton when the Underground came calling, was a slick little ride.

Still, he was a bit cranky as he pulled from light speed. Susevfi was seeming to be the beacon out here. Terminus used to be, his home world used to be, but the galaxy was changing. The Alliance had turned its attention inward, the Silvers too. The Rim was wild again. It was nice to have that, but it made safe houses a bit of a crap shoot.

As he landed, the Sullustan made his way to one of the more frequented bars, he knew that many of the Trade League would find themselves here between trips and missions. Kaia had shown it to him. Still, the humanoid made his way in, changed out of his spacers gear and Home Guard jacket into a more bright colored, almost offensively orange, shirt that was opened to his under shirt. Maybe it wasn’t really appreciated in the more civilized planets, but neither was his disruptor pistol.

Stepping to the bar, he ordered himself a Sullustan Fireball and took a look around. Seeing one of the Ishi Tib he had flown with on more than a few runs. “Hear anything of any jobs going Core wards?” Anyone was free to answer that, clearly. If they could understand the Basic he was speaking, a bit garbled.

Replacing Caedyn Arenais' position!

Among those seated around the Cantina bar was a man looking to be roughly in his thirties, Human and unkempt. He wore a Cap turned backwards to cover the oily mop of hair swept back behind his ears, a faded leather vest atop a brown short-sleeved shirt, grey jeans and finally black boots which were capped at the toes.
Most noticeable about his apparel would be the Blaster Pistol holstered on his right hip, although given the majority of the establishment's guests, perhaps being armed was less of concern out there in the Outer Rim Territories. Aside from the single firearm, however, there wasn't anything intimidating about Ajay; He was just another guy in the Rim looking to get by on whatever jobs paid his way.

This bar had become something of his local drinking hole these days, often spending his time listening to those around him. Cantina's were a good place for ground-walkers to find a willing ride off of Susevfi, or a smuggler who could fly out trade goods, illegal or otherwise, at a lesser rate than commercial businesses offered.
Arryn Jhanson was one of those types, a spacer whose only true love was the Nomad Heavy Freighter currently parked up within the city Spaceport. He had kitted her out to be able to create various tools, weapons and even firearms. The M1-Aegis Blaster at his hip was one of the finer works he had accomplished, and he had decided to keep it. A signature weapon of his, so to speak.

“Hear anything of any jobs going Core wards?”.

Ajay's head lifted away from his glass, eyes landing upon Cuan Kunn Cuan Kunn who appeared to be speaking to the Ishi Tib nearby. The Core Worlds wasn't exactly a regular stop for him, the Outer Rim served to provide him with plenty of solace away from the more heavily monitored space-lanes and worlds under the clawed hands of governance.
It was preferable, being away from the clout he considered the Core and Mid-Rim to be. Too many politicians, too many large organizations taking business away from the common folk, and too many wars being fought over for senseless reasons, none of which Arryn intended to go out and get himself killed for.

Still, he kept an ear to the conversation. Credits made the Galaxy come alive, and if the pay was good enough, any job was worth taking on for someone like him.

Susevfi, Local Cantina.

After landing The Cyclone on Susevfi and paying the local tariff for ship parking, Tovald headed towards the direction to the Cantina. It was best he left Venomoth in orbit as it would have cost more to land it. No, it is much better where it was. Susevfi was very similar to Tatooine, but with noticeable savannahs instead of endless desert and no Beasts of Burden leaving little 'presents' for the unwary to step in. That's happened to him, more than once while he was there.

It took a while to get the manure off his boots and floors of his ship, he had to get super cleaner/freshener to get the smell off of everything as well, none of his animal companions liked it much either.

As the streets were not very crowded Tovald was able to reach his destination without any trouble, entering the Cantina he made a beeline to the bar, hoping that the drinks don't have that strange aftertaste. Surprisingly, there was no hint of metal in the drink's taste in fact it tasted exactly the way it was supposed to.

What a welcomed change, he thought dryly as he took a seat at the bar where he will be able to see who is coming and going at any given time. Tovald liked the drink so much he ordered another one.

Aeshi looked up from where she sat at the table, boots propped up on the chair next to her. Jobs going Coreward always caught her ear. Especially now the Sith splinter sects had collapsed, leaping a great gaping hole in the middle of the galaxy that was about to become ground zero for another scramble for territory. Intelligence agencies would be combing through the area, along with Sith and Jedi trying to salvage or destroy whatever was left behind.

Formerly restricted and nationalized economies now opened up to bold traders. Barter could work, or buying information for new currencies. Selling would be problematic, as none of the currencies there would be valid anymore.

Someone wanted passage though, all the ways to Batuu for being in hot water with the Eternal Empire. She considered it for a moment and then shook her head slightly. That was some stuff she wasn't ready for yet. The lanes were unknown to her, as was the government, and the geography of the underworld.

"What sort of cargo capacity you got?" Aeshi called to the Sullustan who had first spoke. She was pretty sure that was Cuan Kunn and their paths had crossed more than a few years back, but she wasn't entirely sure.

Cuan was working hard nowadays, having to travel and find jobs without the gift of the OPA. Sure, it didn’t make all things that much easier, but it did help. The ragtag government was at least always looking for capable cargo pilots. Now, well, he was going to take the jobs that came his way, much more smuggling, general do-goodery when Peyton needed a hand on things, and at times, even just simple transport runs and courier jobs. He knew he could, and he did, actually, help with his former Commander’s company, but his main job was a bit more clandestine.

And it meant he had to have a reason to get core-ward.

“No trips came this way in the past few days. Sure there is cargo though.” The Ishi Tib responded back to Cuan, who nodded, jowls bouncing. He heard the next voice. “Batuu? Why does anyone want to get out there? In the Empire?” His voice, using the vocabulator, was slower in Basic than it was in his native tongue. “What do you have to get out there?” Not that it was on his way, he had to head in to the Concord for a few things.

Looking over at the… human… He thought it was Aeshi Tillian Aeshi Tillian , but knew it wasn’t one of Starchaser’s kids, or that Perl girl. They were… green and purple. Big black eyes turned to the slight spacer. “Have some arms and material to get from Sullust back to one of the Core worlds.” Didn’t need to give which one, he knew this place they could… maybe be trusted.

"Arms and materials?" Aeshi answered, thoughtfully. She tapped her finger on her chin and assessed the possibilities. "Well, I know there's always small refineries and mining operations looking to sell ore and tibanna. There's a massive demand for them in the Core with all the wars they're fighting. The smaller operations don't usually have standing contracts with manufacturers or shipping companies. They're usually looking for independent freighters who can do one-off shipments when they make sales, or be available for repeat shipments if they get any of those."

Another pause and consideration. "If you check with the small local trade centers, they should have job postings." She slipped a datapad from a pocket and connected to a local datalink and scrolled the postings. "Most of the independent mining companies are solo stakeholders, rather than corporations or companies. Usually needs to get picked up directly rather than through an agent, so easy to mix in some other cargo."

She finished with a shrug and downed a glass of whiskey. "If you're willing to gamble some."

"Arms and Materials?" Arryn repeated after Aeshi, eyeing the sullustan from the rim of his drink, "Of what kind?" he elaborated some. The Nomad was a mobile arms facility capable of putting said materials to good use providing they were up for grabs. Ajay couldn't help but enquire while knowing he wouldn't be so fortunate and instead the goods would be meant for the Core Worlds.

"Does the Core not have enough weapons" he added with something of a sarcastic laugh, placing his drink back upon the counter with a little more heft than he'd meant to; "I can get you where you need to go...-Though I'd rather see those goods put in the hands of folk out here in the Rim. The Core has enough means to go about their wars and such nonsense".

"Still...Man's got to make a living" Arryn remarked, almost as though he was countering his own statements made in criticism of the Core Worlds. Though the drink may have been sinking in rather comfortably, Ajay still needed to be able to pay his way; "How much you paying?".

The Sullustan was looking to the … white haired, was that older for Humans? Gentleman with big focused yet empty to the other species eyes. He wanted to help this man out. “I can help out with that a little. But if your ship is known, why do you need another pilot?” He didn’t mind playing escort, able to use guns and take shots at enemies was not something he missed, necessarily, but it always got his blood pumping. As long as he wasn’t serving one of the dark side (as determined by what he saw the Jedi doing) he was A-OK with most jobs.

And even if it semi-dark adjacent, but not in service of the Sith or the Dark Side, just a bit more aggressive? He’d help.

The pilot turned when he heard an echoing of arms and materials. The yellow haired human, Aeshi, that was one he knew. “Yeah, its not a challenge to find the jobs, but I think getting the ores and gases into the Core is important. Got a few leads through Starchaser Enterprises.” He was hired by them, when he wasn’t fighting wars.

“But we have a call for guns to a certain… subterranean organization.”
If this kept up, he’d have to select a new ship, something bigger. “Its more who needs the guns and why. That make the job important.” He was trying his best to let his basic come out and emphasize some of the words.
