Objective: A.) Clear the Temples - Soul search as one did on Talos - Find the grave of Darth Durablis
Location: Within the Tombs
Allies: ??? ([member="Delyna Karthoys Haymire"]?) ???, and Lovey!
Enemies: Usually everyone, nobody likes the slug
Zambrano continued to follow the group impassively, harassed by no Hssiss, isolated in his relative safety. In eerie calm, his slimy hands took hold of his Lovey, and patted the tentacled creature as it vibrated happily. The cold winds of Korriban swept into the tomb, creating strange unnerving sounds as it washed over his form. The other people were on high alert, looking in every direction, covering every angle of attack. Yet no one noticed the impassive Hutt approaching from the back. He was an ally of course... surely... but that did not stop him from remaining as unsightly. If they ignored him, it was probably due to the corpses piled up next to him, his Vaapad, and his infamous reputation. If any noticed him, it was likely because they had expected brutality, and where left in waiting of when it would appear.
All in good time.
His golden eyes took in his surroundings, noting the eight digit combo, and the four rows of eight skull structures. Somehow, he innately understood exactly how this puzzle worked. Thirty-two victims had challenged this Dark Lord to Kaggath, though only eight had been superiors. The skulls of these worthy foes were among the sculptures, and their placement upon the four by eight grid corresponded to a number upon the gate. Statistically, it would take a very long time to sift through these skulls, and determine their importance... luckily however, Zambrano possessed in him an innate ability to peer into an objects past, even long dead ancient skulls. Thus, the amount of time sifting through skulls would be cut in half, at least. Now they could know the meaning of the skulls. It might take an extra step to understand that these skulls represented numbers, that Zambrano would not think to tell them.
Before he could do anything however, a Hssiss attacked the front of the group. Recognizing that his friends were busy, Zambrano hovered to the first sculpture... badly damaged, opened up to reveal secrets inside that had long been looted. Regardless, fragments of the skull remained, and that was enough for a glance at its memories. His hand reached out, and gently stroked the artifact, closing his eyes as it told him all that he needed to know...
He was correct. The skull had been pillaged, and the Jedi who tried to solve the puzzle could not understand the importance of the skull sculptures... they had no means of knowing which skulls were significant, and what number they corresponded to. So the ignorant fools, found another way in, with drills. The Hutt decided to ignore this pit. He really wanted to solve the puzzle... it was odd... he felt obligated to open up this tomb in the
right way. Obviously no one should raid a tomb, but if a tomb had been raided, it should have had the honor of being opened up properly. At any rate, Zambrano's consciousness moved ever backward, skipping over huge segments of the skulls life until...
The number was one. Easy enough. Opening his eyes, knowing the identity of this particular skull had been significant in the life of the one entombed here, given that this skull had belonged to the unknown Lord's Master, Zambrano would take note of the life he had just experienced... though it was odd he could not make out the identity of the one who was lying in this gave.. Fitting however, that whoever he was should make his first superior kill be his Master. It was poetic, and a nice homage. Obviously, the spirit of this skull might not have been happy that he didn't get his own tomb, but his Apprentice had claimed rights over his body, as spoils of his hard fought well earned victory. This disturbance, may have caused another Hssiss to appear however.
Zambrano took the skull fragments, and placed them into a pouch resting upon a corpse nearest to him. He turned, and lashed at the snarling lizard with his whip, grunting in the effort to do so. Once the Hssiss were dealt with, and they all regrouped, Zambrano would proceed with analyzing the skulls at a progressive pace... it would be up to them to make the full connection of the skulls, though it would not be hard seeing the visible absence of skulls the farther along with the investigation he went...
Alternatively they could completely ignore him, and somehow find the artificial bypass through the gate under some light rubble to his dismay and disappointment.
