Private When Worlds Align

The stars stretched and scattered as the Amidala-class Diplomatic Cruiser dropped out of hyperspace, leaving behind the glimmering blue tunnel of travel. In its place bloomed the serene beauty of the Naboo system — its primary world a blue-green jewel ahead, cradled in a curtain of silver starlight. From the forward observation deck of the ship, Senator Kaela Verrin stood with her hands gently clasped at the small of her back. Framed by the golden inlays and soft cream walls of the Alliance cruiser, she watched in silence as the planet grew larger in the viewport.

"Bring us into standard orbit," she said calmly to the helm officer. "Open a diplomatic channel with Theed control."

The channel blinked to life moments later, and Kaela stepped forward.

"This is Senator Kaela Verrin of the Galactic Alliance, aboard the Galactic Harmony. I come on behalf of the Senate to discuss mutual cooperation and future alignment between our peoples."

She paused, voice steady but respectful.

"With the consent of the Royal Naboo Republic, we formally request docking clearance at Theed Spaceport." Behind her, the ship's crew moved with quiet precision—diplomatic aides, security, and attachés preparing for first contact. Kaela remained still, eyes fixed on the planet ahead, waiting for Naboo's answer.

Sibllya's gloved hands were folded neatly at her waist, a soft, cool silk that matched the deep green and silver trim of her House's diplomatic robes. A subtle breeze blew gently, stirring the edge of her overcloak, prompting a strand of dark chestnut hair to slip from its braided crown to kiss her cheek. She did not move it.

She was watching the sky.

The incoming cruiser shimmered against the afternoon light after being given permission to land. Senator Sarn stood beside her, the Ithorian's eye stalks moving curiously as he observed. As his duties dealt with working alongside the Economic Development Advisory Board and in the induction of new worlds within the Royal Republic, he had been tasked to become a liaison for this particular encounter.

It wasn't the first time he'd been summoned, as they had also conducted work during their initial delegation to the Mandalorians. This experience broadened Sibylla's own skills in working in foreign affairs. It was a good experience. She needed every little bit to make her bid for Sovereign of Naboo a valid one.

And for now it kept wandering thoughts from coming to the fore regarding a particular blonde teenager with eloquent prose.

The young noblewoman turned and signaled her officers to prepare the welcome committee. She kept her eyes on the horizon a moment longer, watching the ship land.

Let this be the first step to a mutually beneficial course, she thought to herself.

The Royal Naboo Republic was transitioning to the High Republic. Because its borders were expanding, it was hard to ignore the effects of the shifting gravitational pull from the Convergence. If Senator Verrin could start important talks that would benefit both the Alliance and the High Republic, then this meeting might make things feel a little less chaotic.

"Let us greet her properly," Sibylla said with quiet certainty, turning to the Ithorian Senator beside her with a small encouraging smile. He nodded in agreement, and together with the security detail they moved forward. As the docking bay lights turned green, Sibylla stepped ahead.

"Welcome to Naboo Senator Kaela Verrin, " Sibllya began, introducing herself and Senator Sarn.

"I am Sibylla Abrantes, Junior Representative of Enarc with Senator Sarn," She gestured respectively as the Ithorian stepped forward to shake the woman's hand.

"Welcome Senator Verrin, it is a pleasure," He garbled out, his wide mouth curving into a large grin.

Kaela descended the shuttle ramp with the same grace that had carried her through the Senate chamber countless times. Her diplomatic tunic was a deep navy with soft silver accents, the crest of Anaxes resting proudly on her left shoulder. At her side walked a pair of aides, but it was Kaela who stepped forward first as Sibylla and Senator Sarn approached.

She offered a courteous dip of her head, and extended her hand in return.

"Representative Abrantes. Senator Sarn. It is an honor to be received so warmly." Her voice was calm and clear, carrying easily across the landing platform without force.

"I am Senator Kaela Verrin, representing the Anaxes system and the Galactic Alliance Senate. My delegation and I are grateful for Naboo's hospitality." She took a moment to glance around the platform, her gaze lingering briefly on the surrounding architecture, then returning to Sibylla with the faintest smile.

"This is a world known for grace and diplomacy. I hope our presence today contributes to that legacy, rather than disrupts it."

She folded her hands before her, relaxed now that formalities had been observed.

"I would be pleased to speak further at your convenience. There is much I believe we can learn from one another."

"Yes, of course of course." Senator Sarn would reply, the older Ithorian garbling with a wide smile across his broad mouth. He was again, the naive older Senator that still wanted the best for Naboo, but was interested in vetting this connection first before approaching the Queen Emeritus with it.

Sibylla stepped forward with a gracious smile, extending a gloved hand in greeting. She accepted Senator Verrin's greeting with an elegant nod.

"The pleasure is entirely ours, Senator Verrin," Senator Sarn continued, replied, his voice warm but laced with an attempt at comparable humor.

"Though I daresay you flatter us far too kindly. Naboo may be known for grace, but our Assembly sessions, I assure you, are often anything but tranquil." He continued, thinking especially when the Royal Houses come into play.

Sibylla gave a nod in agreement. Even with the introduction of new worlds, Sibylla was not so naive to believe that there weren't some passionate discourse slung back and forth.

"But at least they are vigorous. An attempt to truly make the appropriate legislation or change for the betterment of our people and others." He added, a lightness in his tone, showing his tendency to think the best in others first. One of the characteristics that unfortunately had been taken advantage of before. Which was why Sibylla was here to also assist.

“Please if you would come with us,” She added turned and gestured for Kaela and her delegation to follow as the three moved from the landing platform toward the adjacent reception hall, the soft gleam of marble beneath their steps and the scent of flowering hyacinths drifting in from the balcony garden. All the while Senator Sarn gave an encouraging nod of his head for Sibylla to speak.

"As you may already be aware, our Royal Assembly has recently passed the Repatriation and Naturalization Act. It is a joint framework initially outlined between Chancellor Organa and Her Majesty Queen Kalantha. It is a promsing venture, one that we hope might serve as an early foundation for cooperation between the High Republic and the Alliance, particularly in these days of post Convergence restructuring."

It had been one she had worked along with Senator Joa Sodi. The Junior Representative paused, then tilted her head slightly toward Kaela with a touch of genuine curiosity.

"I admit I would be most interested in hearing your own view of things, Senator. Especially the current temperament within the Alliance Senate now that the dust has begun to settle after the Convergence. One can only hope that the discourse we begin today might rise, in time, to the notice of the transitional High Assembly and eventually the new High Chancellor, whoever they may be."

Sibylla had her thoughts on the matter of the election, but she chose to keep that to herself for now.
