Public When in Coruscant...

kFTNC5u.png

Nightclub, Uscru District, Coruscant
- OPEN -

Anodyne's induction as Ambassador of Jelucan had been chock-full of the stilted motions and procedures that came with any bureaucratic promotion. She'd seen it a hundred times back home, except on Jelucan she caught far more sideways glares and whispers. Here, Anodyne saw a real fresh start. Sure, politicians had their own shortcomings aplenty, but to them she wasn't the illegitimate stain on an otherwise renowned noble house. She was just the Ambassador of Jelucan. Whatever else she became here was up to her.

But now that it was settled, all Anodyne wanted to do was sample the local nightlife. Coruscant was a whole new opportunity, not just for her ambitions, but for her entertainment. She found her way to a ritzy club in the Uscru district, further still to its bar. The bright lights and noises were a pleasant sensory overload. Back home, the higher end socials were all a bit too dignified. And the lower end ones, a bit too crude.

Anodyne took her drink in hand, and began the fulfilling pastime of people-watching. So many different species. So many different backgrounds. She wondered if any of them would stand out to her tonight.

OOC: Just looking to have some social interaction while I explore this new character. Feel free to join me or do your own thing.

The Vulptex

Thief of Thieves. Ninja Master.

Name: Samantha, Lyra, Beatrix, Alex

It wasn't often a girl such as the one entering the club made it out to the Uscru district. It was always too....fancy for her tastes. But this blonde girl, one who had died the tips of her hair, and dressed up in what could only be described as punk chique, had made the trek to this nightclub. Why? Who knows.

All that Anodyne Lyori Anodyne Lyori knew is that the girl was now approaching her, looking to the ambassador with an impressed look. "You wanna dance, or are you just enjoying the vibe?"

Coruscant was everythign that she could remember, Denon was home now and she largely stayed in the upcity but there was something about the center of the galaxy as far as things were concerned. She was able to breathe in the sights and sounds... plus there was usually more bars then people... so if one was somehow overcrowded... just walk across the street... that was an important aspect of it as well.Ayumi danced a little... drank a little and was able to let her hair down as the former senator got to cut loose... and there wasn't a chance of animal themed maid cafe gangsters attacking here... maybe... like ninety five percent certain.

Balance help him, Raqo was in Coruscant and as far away from home as he could get. The nightclub provided a much needed shelter, a reprieve from what felt like days, weeks of evading one Mr. Bloodborn. Settling into a booth in the back of the club, the young man ordered a simple glass of Corellian Ale. No ship to speak of, no real way of getting off of Coruscant but he figured for the night this place was just fine.
He'd figure out what to do in the morning, the thump of the bass could be felt in his chest. He was alone with his thoughts, allowing him to actually think for once. Ah, yes, thinking a dangerous past time, something he was well aware of. He nursed the glass of ale and set the small vaso back on the table. It was nice to breathe in air that wasn't completely recycled. Even if the nightclub had its own unique odor. Nothing terrible just the usual scent of perfumes, colognes, mixing with that upscale air conditioner wash.
The alcohol would go along way to numb his sense of smell, for sure.
Raqo could relax, and relax he did, settling into the cushion of the booth's seat.

Kurayami had found himself on assignment from Primo Victorian's CEO and to track down and find her son. Given the fact that he bore the surname of Yvarro meant only that he could potentially get in even more trouble and do it faster. Oddly, that did not seem to be the case as The Corellian awaited landing clearance for the upper city in the Uscru Entertainment District. The ship he had chosen was not one that exactly blended in most places, but on Coruscant's upper district it would look to be nothing more than that of some wealthy spacer showing off, and since the armament was nothing to write home about it shouldn't draw too much attention due to that either.

Finally the ping was sent that he had clearance at a landing pad not too far, but still a decent speeder trip. he had his own though so that saved on fare, but the bikes were much more dangerous when trying to navigate the city. Screw it he'd rent one. While he set the landing coordinates he reviewed the transmission from Ryssa about Tahraqos Yvarro Tahraqos Yvarro . Kid had done a pretty decent job covering his tracks, but not quite good enough. While the lightsaber was hung on his left hip as usual, the DC 17m mag clamped in place of the left holster, extra ammo for the PEP laser in pouches in places of the right holster. He hoped to not need any of it, but it tended to help with negotiations and to keep interference from others at a minimum. As soon as the Bulwark set down on the pad, Kurayami stepped out down the ramp and on to the waiting speeder. He looked the part of any spacer you might come across in these parts, the worn flight jacket devoid of any distinguishing markings, olive shirt underneath, black slacks , utility belt, blaster at his hip, seemingly stern countenance. Only thing that would stand out to the casual observer would be the first class Corellian bloodstripes. Even then, not as rare as once they had been. Climbing in he gave the driver the signal for one moment. He took that time to think where the kid might try and disappear.

It was all too obvious. The nightclub district. Well that was somewhere to start at least. With the direction given he set off to find Raqos and bring him in. Thankfully the trip was a short one and soon he was wandering the streets of the nightclub district asking bouncers, and greasing palms when needed, to get the information that was necessary. Time was ticking, but who would it run out for first, predator or prey?

Anodyne hadn't quite spotted the blond woman until she was nearly upon her. She nodded, and leaned against the bartop as she returned to her people-watching. The Ambassador had a flat, bored expression on her face, which ticked up in a slight smirk at the stranger's question, "I'm not nearly drunk enough to be dancing," Anodyne answered, tapping a finger against her dainty glass. The less inhibited patrons were quick to make a fool of themselves on the dance floor. Her, not so much.

"Nope. I'm just seeing the sights, I suppose," Anodyne downed her drink in one gulp, wincing slightly at the sour taste. It was more the kind of drink that was meant to sipped. She ordered another, and continued to imbibe at a more measured pace.

The movements finished with the song and she moved towards the bar. Lettign her body more avoid others without losing sight of her objective as she slid into one of the seats offering a smile towards the bartender. To get a drink... her glass was at one of the tables empty... well likely with a little left but it had been unattended... so it was dead to her now... she would move on and find a younger glass. She received it and the swirling blue Hoth Icebreaker and debated two things... one was the lamest line ever to the person two seats down from her who was watching the people more then she was the drinks cause making an icebreaker joke... best ever at being lame.... the second was she debated a Jedi Mind Trick instead. Mostly cause it changed its flavor as you drank it and the few times it rarely ever had the same flavor. "And a round of mind tricks for the bar." She said it mostly cause what was the point of being the administrator of the Upcity district if you couldn't indulge in showing off some of it.

Raqos rose from the booth, tired of being in the back by himself.

He decided to work his way through the crowd and toward the bar.

His mother likely would've dispatched someone to fetch him, someone to bring him back home. Not that the Core was any safer than the Outer Rim or even the Unknown Regions. He had no business being out here, but out here, he could disappear a little easier. The nightclub was on its own, fine, no different than the ones back home in the Commonwealth. A different set of species mixed in, but otherwise generally the same.

Raqos tugged at his jacket, as he set his empty glass on a floating tray.

He probably didn't look too out of place to anyone who was paying attention.

In fact, he could probably blend in just fine. All, so long as he didn't talk.

Outer Rim, and in particular Unknown Regions, well accents being what they are, he'd stick out. Stick out in the worst way possible.

At the bar he took note of a blonde, brunette and a few others. He hadn't noticed Kurayami Bloodborn Kurayami Bloodborn just yet, and maybe that was a good thing. Raqos knew the man of course, most of the kids in his family did. Step out too far, go somewhere you're not supposed to and you'll be brought back in.

Shoulders relaxed, Raqos with manners, "pardon me." He squeezed by the brunette, an arm on the bartop, "pardon, excuse me, excuse me sir. Got any soju, 'round?"

Bartender poured him a shot of it and went about his business, and Raqos took the shot in hand. He could feel the gin burn its way down, a right touch of courage and confidence he wagered.

Given that his quarry had been sighted doing a bit of wandering in the district, that meant that Kurayami was at least in the right area. As he worked his way through the bouncers at each bar it was whittling down the amount of time that he had to find the kid and convince him it was time to return home. He hadn't failed Ryssa yet on an assignment, and he didn't plan to this time either. Besides, every bar visited led him closer to the one where Raqos was hiding out at.

Making his way to the next bar he figured he'd at least stop for a drink even if the kid wasn't here. Something about the vibe though...it screamed Yvarro to him. He rolled his neck to work out the crick that he hadn't really realized was there before, looking around at the layout of the bar itself from the outside. Entrances and exits were of particular note, balconies were always a favorite of the family though chances were if he was trying to lay low he'd stay inside. The bar was easily enough accessible as long as you had the creds, though like most clubs access was decently controlled. After paying the cover charge he took a deep breath as he let himself relax as he enter the nightclub.

To any within he likely drew little to no attention, just another spacer looking to kill some time, or maybe looking for a good time. It could be hard to tell with Corellians to be honest. He made no attempt o approach anyone just yet, simply taking a seat at the far end of the bar, near the entrance, and ordering a Whyren's Reserve for himself, as he scanned the room looking for Tahraqos Yvarro Tahraqos Yvarro , though keeping his Force senses honed as well since one never knew quite what to expect in a place like this.

Thanking the bartender as the small shot was slid across the bar to him, he reflected on the fact that he was used to far seedier establishments than this one. This was positively posh in comparison, he might have to make a mental note to return here sometime.

"Probably wouldn't be a good look for my first night on Coruscant," Anodyne replied, staring at her second glass. She raised it in gratitude towards the woman who had given the who bar a free round.

"I take it you're not exactly a party girl, eh?"

"Depends on the party. This isn't half bad actually," The ambassador smirked, then wiped it away just as quickly. She took a measured sip of her drink, "Back home the parties are a bit too stiff."

"How about you?"

She bowed her head and took another sip.. the flavors there for a moment as she debated what to do.. dancing was fun but solo was... not so much and invited many more people to try and interact.... but sitting alone at a bar wasn't always great either. The one near her was engaged in a conversation already which would be rude to interrupt... and not a good first impression. Besides a simple nod in thanks for a drink didn't always mean 'I am interested' it meant thank you for the booze. Best she could do was hope the one watching people brought her attention back to her though competition was there.

After another shot of soju, Raqo had a bit of courage in'im. He glanced over to the brunette who mentioned that parties where she came from were a tad stiff. Raqo excused himself just before he interjected, "pardon, couldn't help but over hear..." His fingers drummed along the empty shot glass. "Stiff parties sound an awful lot like the well-to-do galas back in my home. Ones got to be proper, dress in the suits, shake the hands, and smile as if anyone gives a damn about anything other than brokering whatever deal they came to uh... broker." Raqo added and then settled into the seat right up at the bar. "Apologies for the interruptions, names Raqos Yvarro, pleased to meet yous both."

Leaning forward and slamming the shot back Kurayami ordered a glass of namana nectar, he had plenty of a tolerance for the drinks and there was a twinge in the Force that just felt like he could at least take it slow for a bit longer here. Picking up the glass he thanked the bartender once more and took a small sip, almost smiling as he exhaled slowly, the feeling of the namana nectar's familiar burn doing nothing to dissuade him from taking his time and just observing the goings on of the nightclub, both visually, and through the Force.

He overheard one of the other patrons mention that it was her first night on Coruscant, poor lady likely didn't know what she was getting herself into. Could be entertaining to see that play out. She also talked about how parties where she was from were a bit stiff. The Corellian almost spit out his drink laughing as he took a sip when she spoke. The number of absolutely droll and uninspired parties he had sat through were countless. Silently, he tipped his glass towards her.

He stayed back and sipped at his drink pulling out his datapad as a new person approached the bar, pulling up an image of Tahraqos Yvarro Tahraqos Yvarro , minimizing it and using the camera to focus on the new person. Bingo. To anyone else it could be seen as someone taking a picture to remember the place. Kurayami sent a quick, encrypted message to Ryssa that he had found Raqos on Coruscant along with the name and location of the club. This was absolutely confirmed moments after he had put away the datapad and picked up his drink when Raqus introduced himself formally to the woman.

Kurayami picked up his drink and slid out of his seat blending into the crowd as he moved to stand next to the chair that Raqos had taken a seat in. Instead of sitting, Kurayami walked up to the bar and leaned forward, setting his drink down gently, so as not to disturb the conversation. Now it was a waiting game. How long before he was addressed?

Anodyne swiveled her gaze over to the man beside her. He commiserated with his own tales of boring old galas, and introduced himself. She dipped her head in acknowledgement, "Anodyne," She left out her surname intentionally. It wasn't a guarantee that some Coreworlder would be aware of the Lyori family- They were big business on Jelucan, not so much out here- But tonight Anodyne wasn't really looking to risk any unwanted attention just in case, "Charmed."

"They're just a chance for bigwigs to stroke their egos and talk out loud about the stuff usually hidden behind closed doors,"
She said, "Where are you from?"

SOmeone else approached but it was her own fault... no matter... then both he and the woman said something and she suppressed the urge to snicker as she lifted her glass up and spoke. "Isn't that the truth." The former senator was no stranger to gala's and raising credits was important usually... when you could or visiting dignitaries. It was also incredibly boring unless you got the ones who liked to cause trouble and then it usually just became a headache... few had ever seemed to be in the middle and instead were so serious and stoic... or they were so devil may care they never took it serious enough.Still she was at least glad to learn one thing... aan opinion aside from just the people watching.... also that there was more then just one person in here who attended high level social events some would see stuck up.

"Pleasures all mine," Raqos acknowledged with a smile, the kid from the Unknown Region listened as Anodyne spoke. All that had been said had been quite the truth, egos and voices were about all those kinds of parties were for. Hearin' themselves talk and strokin' egos, of which he agreed. The Coreworlder had asked him where he was from. "Ah, a little rock out in the Unknowns called Dosuun, me first time out in the Core, actually."

He knew someone had settled on the other side of him, and as Raqos glanced he didn't quite notice him initially. Although perhaps he should have, but then, Anodyne seemed to be agreeable company, thus far at least. There was another person lingering close by the young man managed to look a little bit more getting comfortable with his surroundings. He acknowledged the other woman with a polite smile and as he caught another look on his other side, he noticed the man a little more.

It hadn't registered in his mind that Kurayami Bloodborn Kurayami Bloodborn was beside him. At least, not yet.

Kurayami just sat there listening, drinking, and trying very hard not to laugh at Tahraqos Yvarro Tahraqos Yvarro as it seemed that the alcohol might be hitting him a bit harder than he had anticipated it may. Anodyne mentioned her name and though he did notice there was no surname mentioned, either by intention or perhaps it was a cultural thing like the Chiss naming conventions where it was a shortened form. Either way wasn't of major import but given her bearing and what she mentioned to Raqos for introductions it seemed she was at least pretty used to the nicer things in life. Fair enough.

There wasn't a word wrong with what she sadi about galas or the other upper crust parties, reasons why the Corellian tended to avoid them when he could as he tended to stick out a bit more than he cared to at such events. It was around the time that Dosuun was mentiond as a 'little rock in the Unkown Regions' Kurayami couldn't help but chuckle a bit at that. While certainly not as well known as once it may have been on the galactic stage, it was far from some galactic backwater. It was tempting to pull the kid out and take him back, but then again the poor boy was just now starting to look like he was getting comfortable with being away from home. Nah, there was no need to speed home just yet, he had found Raqos and had plenty of means to ensure the kid didn't run off again now. He'd get him back safely, besides, Ryssa knew that Kurayami had found him now anyways and until she starting really hounding him about a timetable...well why not kill time at the club among some upper crust who didn't seem quite so concerned with posturing.

"You know Raqos, I'm sure if the ladies are educated, which I am sure they are given that they seem so familiar with galas and upper class goings on, then why would you assume they don't know where Dosuun is? Work on the introductions kid. Otherwise you seem to be doing well."

A few other patrons lent their comments to the discussion. A few folks with shared experiences. Anodyne snorted and raised her glass. "I've heard of it," She said at mention of Dosuun. Not that she'd ever been there. The name was about as much knowledge as she had on the topic.

Then, another stranger chimed in, this one referring to Raqos by name. Anodyne raised an eyebrow curiously, drumming her fingers against her glass while the man spoke. She looked over Raqos' shoulder at him, then back to Raqos expectantly, "Friend of yours?"

She listened to the conversation and debated two things. One was enticing the woman away from the crowd she was gathering... if the drumming was any indication it usually meant boredom or agitation... which could benefit her... or the other try and help the boy... or she had the third option of being the wallflower and waiting for the interesting things to come to her... viable but also the most boring when she moved from her seat and looked at the boy. "It is alright the duraplast from there was vital once upon a time when the Republic was fighting the sith. Before the One Sith overtook the planet here. The senate was trying to secure so much for popo back then." She offered him a smile and her hand. "Now is the part where you shake, offer the compliment and ask me my name Raqos." She said it taking another drink from her glass.
