Iris nodded to what Oni said and watched her Master. This was about as much as she could think to do herself. Now she just trusted Valery to be able to help.

"A pleasure to meet you," Valery said before she dipped her head respectfully in return. But then she remained quiet and just listened to him, as he talked about his desire to join the New Jedi Order. He was from a time far in the past, even more so than she was, which meant that not only the Galaxy and its current state had changed, but the way he used to live as a Jed'aii wasn't something that really happened anymore.

Sure, she knew of some who still followed the path of the Je'daii, but there were only a few, and there were reasons they had ultimately changed a long time ago.

"I'm glad to hear that you wish to help, and we'll gladly take you in for training. But a lot has changed, and the Je'daii are quite different from what the Jedi are. We'll have to help you adapt and settle in, but more importantly..." she paused and looked at him a little more closely.

"I want to make sure you're doing alright. When I first stepped out of stasis, I was quick to travel around and try to adjust, but the loss of what I once knew hit me hard later, and I took months away on a meditative retreat. If you need some time or people to talk to, please focus on that first."

"That's... relieving," Oni admitted, letting out an exhausted sigh. "I have so many questions, I don't even know where to begin."

He had seen so much outlandish stuff since arriving in this time that he was really struggling to wrap his head around all of it. There was talk of strange wars with even stranger participants, species of sentient beings he had never seen in his life, technology so advanced it seemed like magic. Je'daii or not, Oni could only handle so much information at once. He was still, at his core, a person. A rather young person at that. Though, humorously, it now seemed that he was a good thousand or so years old.

"Sorry," he apologized. "This is all... very confusing. How much did I miss?"

"Sorry," he apologized. "This is all... very confusing. How much did I miss?"

"You have nothing to apologize for," Valery assured him with a soft smile. "I know how confusing this can be." She then paused and considered how to even begin; where to even begin. With how much knowledge was lost of those ancient times, it was almost easier to talk to him about what he didn't miss at this point.

Still, she was going to do her best to help him adjust.

"To start with the Je'daii, they changed about 26 thousand years ago and transitioned into the Jedi Order. Since then, the Galaxy has been in so many wars. Some brought the Jedi to the brink of annihilation, others brought times of peace. It... would take a long time to go over everything, but I can help you find all the material to read," she offered.

"Right now, the Jedi work alongside the Galactic Alliance, and much of our focus is on keeping the Brotherhood of the Maw from ravaging the Galaxy. They're a combination of Sith, death cultists, and other destructive forces. I suggest starting your research with the Jed'aii shift and the formation of the first Sith Empire. It'll help you understand the ever-ongoing clashes between Dark and Light very well."
