Private What Did I Tell You Last Time?

"It's hard enough not to want to bite you as it is. Please, don't tempt me."

It'd be flirty if Alina didn't look as distraught as she did. She gripped her knees tighter, closed her eyes. She wasn't hungry, not yet. Blood bags, though? She sighed, but nodded. They'd have to do.

".. When do we get there?"

Amani gave her weary smile, and a limp shrug, "Probably a day or two." Speaking of; The mirialan forced herself back up to go set the ship off proper. Before long, the vessel rose into the air and shot through the sky. After hitting space, and punching in a few coordinates, the stars in the sky stretched into an infinite tunnel, signifying their transition into hyperspace.

Once that was finished, Amani stepped back out into the main hold, where there was a period of awkward silence. It was strange how their relationship had played out. Violence, to possible friendship, back to violence, then to… whatever this was. The fact that she was even helping was hard to comprehend. But Amani didn't want to give up, not if there was a chance someone underneath all of that really needed help.

"…Just us for a while. Might as well get started now, right?" The heart gestured to the mat in the middle of the room, and moved to one end of it, obviously expecting Alina to do the same.

A day or two? She glanced to where the fridge was before hopping up to glance through. Just taking stock of the blood she'd need to survive. Or at least not try to feast on Amani in a haze of hunger. It was a danger, and one she really didn't want to deal with right now. .. Good. Stocked enough for a least two days. She turned her gaze back to the Mirialan, then blinked in surprise.

Oh.

She nodded ever so slowly before taking a seat across from her, closing her eyes. "Now.. What. Breath? Let my mind empty?"

Amani Serys Amani Serys

"Mhm," Amani sat down, folded her legs, and took a deep breath. How had she described it to Alicio again? "Just start by sitting down in a way that's comfortable for you. Inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth. Slowly." A faint smirk twitched at the corner of her lip, recognizing that Alina technically did not need to breathe at all. But here it was more about the cadence anyway.

"Once you've gotten into a rhythm, close your eyes and shut out all distractions. Try focusing on just yourself. Become mindful of all those little things you usually don't even think about." Conscious focus on what was otherwise autonomous lent itself to new perspectives, and was good at shutting out less relevant information.

Breathing. Right.

Alina took an exaggerated breath at first, but did eventually go into a calm, slow rhythm. It was easier to focus on with the lack of air actually needed. Made her feel almost normal. Her eyes stayed closed as she let Amani's voice be the thing she focused on. Herself, huh? She probably knew more about herself than anyone had business knowing. Physically, anyway.

".. I probably shouldn't think about the things I don't tend to, not gonna lie."

Amani Serys Amani Serys

"Hm," Was the only noise Amani made in response. Fair enough, she supposed. Alina's vampiric nature certainly wasn't making this any easier. "Just reset and keep going with your breathing then. It's the same effect. If it helps, just focus on my guidance instead." Whatever might serve as an anchor point to keep her thoughts from wandering. Something she could let pass by without being distracted.

Amani herself was entering a similar state, but kept her own focus on studying Alina's efforts, "Then, once you feel comfortable, try… reaching out. To the Force. Find that connection." It was quiet in the vacuum of space. Just the two of them. The Force would, hopefully, be less overwhelming out here.

Focus on breathing. At least that was easy. She kept her eyes closed as she did just that. Breath in, out. In, out. Trying to let herself relax. It wasn't easy, though. Amani's ship, weaponless. Someone who was an enemy, now a.. Something else. Not a friend. Alina doubted Amani would ever think of her like a friend. But.. Reach out. Okay. Okay, sure. She took a breath one last time before letting herself reach out.

And the Force wept.

The unnatural, twisted nature of Alina's forced connection to the Force brought it to tears, if it could cry. She didn't do anything with it, but she wasn't even aware of the effect she had.

Amani winced at the sensation which seemed to reverberate through the Force. She could hardly recognize the presence at first, the alien response wholly unlike anything she had felt through it before. The mirialan pried open her eyes to stare at Alina, who seemed in the same unassuming state as when they started.

She almost didn’t want to say anything. Leave it be and continue onward as long as Alina was making progress. But the sensation was unignorable, “A-Alina… What is that? Are you… You’re not doing anything right now?”
