The worst part of the captivity was that the woman was constantly bored. Ingrid was used to the fact that work was always the first and she had been working continuously since Adrian’s death. She couldn’t do it here, so she kept thinking about her dead and living husband. As always, Adrian was the most painful. This was accompanied by very strong mental pain that she could not completely suppress.

That's why she started seeing Adrian all the time on Serenno. She soon realized how to build another world in her mind where she could be with the man. It is able to perceive both “worlds” at the same time and react separately in them. Probably most would call her crazy and insane, though so far it was just a strong nervous breakdown, which she was able to hide perfectly.

For the time being, she was fully cooperating with both sides, as long as it meant not endangering the Eternal Empire. Because she won't take such a step. She tried to work in her head to make war plans, weapon and armor plans, new alchemical things and stuff. Even if she doesn't move in the meantime, at least she's occupying her mind.

While in reality she was sitting on the couch with closed eyes, she was in Adrian’s library in her mind, and she talked to the Sith Lord about these just like when he was alive. It was just a hallucination now, but completely real. When the man appeared outside the woman's mind, she felt him physically. It is also true in the mind; the human mind was a wonderful place…

~ Why? ~ he asked.

~ You know why, handsome! ~ she purred. ~ I know you never understood my loyalty, but they are my people and my people, my responsibility. Like the way you think of the Sithspawns. I think maybe this is the best analogy. ~

As she spoke in her thoughts, her lips almost touched the man's. The woman was perfectly motionless in reality. Smiling in her own mind, she watched the smirking Adrian, whose eyes also gleamed as usual. But before their lips could touch each other, the woman's eyes opened. She could see in her mind Adrian, too, looking toward the suite door; in reality the woman did the same, looking at the door to see who had arrived.

They may have tried to block the Force around Ingrid as well, it didn't work because of the gland, although she pretended to do so, she could still hear and feel voices when watching. As an agent and spy, her life depended on this many times…

Work was dull, and interrogation was not something she enjoyed or was good at. The Spy was built for infiltration and blend in with a crowd; this was far from her expertise. Feeling the itch of the military uniform she rarely wore, Allyson adjusted and pulled at every seam. Her eyes watched Ingrid's security footage, each movement, each flutter of her eye, memorized by the Corellian. Signs of a nervous breakdown, ones that she had experienced herself, were gleaned from the red-headed woman. "Here, I thought I was crazy," she spoke quietly under her breath as one of the officers handed her a datapad file.

Allyson followed quickly behind them as her finger gilded delicately along with the datapad. The woman was quite accomplished, several titles, husbands, the works. It seemed whatever Ingrid wanted, she got. "Ah geez, this isn't going to be fun; she reminds me of the girls I went to school with." The escort guard chuckled under his breath and nodded as he let the Corellian into the room. "Have fun, Commander." Allyson waved him off and then headed towards the cell belonging to the Eternal Empire's current leader.

"Surprised you haven't busted out of here or had some guards from the Eternal Empire come knocking on the Chancellor's door demanding your swift return." Allyson leaned a shoulder against the barrier that separated them. She snapped her fingers, demanding Ingrid's attention. "Time to wake up from your little dream world; I'm not an idiot - it's a method most spies have to keep their sanity while in deep cover." She knew it quite well, having done so several times while trying to escape a Sith prison or two. Unfortunately for her, she had to learn the skill while on the job and at Carnifex's mercy as he tortured her when she was still green. Clearing her throat, Allyson leaned off the door and tucked the datapad away.

"So what's the plan here? Surrender, find some way to infiltrate, get some secrets?"

Yes, it was true that what Ingrid wanted, she got. If something failed at first, she struggled as a stubborn dog, rather as a wolf, until it succeeded. She didn't know how to give up anything. She could accurately feel someone approaching, she also pays attention to the outside world, next to what was on her mind. It was just the other world that was much more tempting because of Adrian than reality. Especially in this place where she didn’t really have anything to do.

"Luckily, the Overlord knows exactly he can’t send reinforcements or people after me. STRATCOM may not agree with him, but Lord Tubrok knows me better than anyone."

Answered without opening her eyes. She eventually did this when Allyson wanted full attention. Then she turned toward the door, got up from her seat, and faced the other woman. During her movements, she was able to hide her condition quite well and took on her usual military position, rigid posture, small straddle, hands clasped behind her back. Ingrid looked at the Corellian woman. When Allyson was in TSE’s captivity, she wanted to go to her to get to know her, as the woman was a legend but didn’t have a chance. Ironically, now the red-haired woman was in prison and the other woman was free.

"Then not in deep cover. Not this time. And I have my own methods. I can assure you, it is not among them… I do not need it. However, I'm sorry to finally see you, Miss Locke. I’ve been waiting for this for a very long time, though, I have to admit that I didn’t think it would happen under such circumstances." she said in her usual cold, military voice.

No, she really used a different method, trained from a young age against telepaths, cruel methods to be able to think on multiple “levels” to dig into her real thoughts so deeply that they couldn’t feel them, and above it on different levels she thinks differently. That's why she was able to pay attention to more than one at a time. Communicate telepathically and verbally at the same time. It also involved suppressing all her emotions that might bother her. After all she was not a Force user or sensitive then. She had to learn different ways.

Because of these, she also thought she was a monster, and she didn’t even mention that she killed for the first time at the age of four, out of self-defense, she saved her younger sisters from the assassin. And at the age of fourteen or fifteen, she killed with her own hands the first love she loved. Today she knew it was just teenage love, not real. The real one broke her; Adrian's death left a never-healing black hole-like but bleeding wound in her soul; the shattered Force-bond. And the suppressed pain was probably felt by a master of a level like Allyson.

"No, there is no ulterior motive, which is why I did not escape. I knew I was coming here to die, but if I manage to save much of the galaxy with my death, it’s all worth it. I came to try to end the war and open the eyes of those who have not yet realized the war against the Sith is nothing more than a childish battle… the real enemy of Bryn’adûl, who can now get anywhere in the galaxy."

Her voice was a little tired, but she let Allyson read in her body language, which seemed to be honest. At the end, she smiled for a moment; it was just a sad and very faint smile.

"But I have to admit, I’d be happier with your version. It is a more suitable task than being a martyr for the sake of my own people. Why are you here? Are you curious about your caged colleague?"
