Invasion Welcome to the Jungle! [OS - Republic Invasion of Kashyyyk]

Location: Enroute to the Great Tree
Objective: A - Outskirts
Allies: [member="Caleb Brolen"]
Enemies: [member="Surah"]

Kian signaled for the two Wookies flanking [member="Surah"] to take her into custody.

"I'm afraid we will need to restrain you." Kian said speaking calmly. "You won't be harmed....but it is a precaution that I've got to uphold considering who you came here with." Kian said looking past her to the battle raging behind them.

Kian turned toward [member="Caleb Brolen"] and examined the Jedi for a moment trying to gauge how injured the man was then turned his attention back to Surah. He was torn between how to handle the situation. He couldn't abandon the field yet....there was still a battle to be won, but he certainly couldn't drag these two along with him.

"Caleb, she is in your custody." Kian said putting his trust in the young man. "Take half the Dragon Troopers with you and get her.....and yourself....to a medical center." Kian said handing over a datapad that had the location of the nearest one.

"Be careful. The Sith aren't the only dangerous thing on this planet." Kian said walking back toward his mount and getting on.

And don't trust her. Kian said, communicating telepathically to Caleb so as not to alert the Sith. So far she had played balll and Kian didn't sense any malicious intent....but she was a Sith so he felt it was better safe then sorry.

He was a good-looking man, there was no denying that. And in another life – a life in which she was on his side, Jedi Master Matsu Xiangu (how foreign, how strange!) – the kind of guy she might have considered. She’d thought about it before, what it would have been like to walk in the Light. Was it a weightlessness, all that peace? Did righteousness take away all misery, all indecision? Did it make their doom less frightening?

She would never know. She was inherently incapable. Eventually her path had split in two and left her with a decision and nothing in particular steered her to the left (the path to sin, the devil’s hand) save for something fundamentally flawed.

His voice – deep, in opposition to the silk of hers – drifted across her mind and she let out something of a laugh, tilting her head back and watching him out of the corner of her eye as he circled. She chose not to circle in kind, instead turning her head to watch him, feeling for any indication he might make a move. His size wasn’t intimidating to her; she’d had enough practice against Gabriel that while she still faced a great disadvantage she also knew a few more tricks. Though clearly he had a dangerously confident streak to be strolling so casually along a battlefield…to be circling a predator, however picky.

<< ‘I am young,’ >> she returned in silence. In truth her use of sith magic would wither her one day. She too would become one of those veined, decrepit creatures all Sith of any true power were destined to become. She was careful with her magic, used it only in battle or when she was in dire need. But any use ate at her. Even the sharpness of her features was credited partly to that, a slightly demonic cast to an already angled countenance. And all her scars and injuries had been fixed, replaced by soulless metal and dangerous claws. << ‘Someday perhaps I will look as you describe. The price of power, I suppose. As far as my eyes…you just haven’t made me angry. But keep looking at me like that and you’ll get a chance to see.’ >>

Pulling both knives from their place at her side, she let them rotate in her fingertips, tilting her head at him and blinking in that same unsettling fashion (wrong, something’s wrong, inhuman…) she didn’t seem to realize she did so often. << ‘I would make a terrible Jedi, and you a terrible Sith…though I’m willing to bet you’re wrong. So, what’ll it be? Dance with me?’ >>

Familiar presences all around, shadows in the causeways of night. No time to acknowledge them. Only time to live. The tingling of precognition warned the Jedi Knight of danger, but danger was all around. He moved, flowing with the Force, letting it guide him.

Ryan still saw everything through the ephemeral lens of Force Sight. Sparks flew as a bar of white wielded by a pillar of the dark glanced off the overlapping plates of his combat armor. The energy-resistant synthetic fibers were interwoven with cortosis, rendering them impervious to lightsabers and capable of shorting them out as well. Korr still felt the heat of the blow on his back, warm through the armor.

The short Sith lifted a hand and began to choke the life from him, lifting him off his feet and into the air. As he hung suspended, unable to breath, lightning crackled through the air. His lightsaber moved to intercept it and he held it before him, sword become shield. The sizzling forks of Venefica's rage fell upon that shield and failed to overcome it.

The attention of the Sith Lords turned to other foes as more Jedi entered the fray. The hold on Ryan's neck was released, line of sight being necessary in order to maintain it, and he dropped to the ground, saber held at the ready.

All around them, the Waves of Darkness began to withdraw, the focus of their creator drawn elsewhere. Ryan stepped forward through the retreating tendrils of black and glanced at the nearest foe. His stoney expression changed into one of shock and, like a shift in tectonic plates, the change was followed by a rumble of emotion in his heart.

"Finn?"

He remembered her from Windspeaker's training sessions. A bright young girl, beaming in the Force. So why did she now burn with a dark flame?

Korr did not consider himself to be of a preeminent power in the Force, but he knew he had the strength for this, as well as the conviction. The Jedi Knight called on all his memories of Spark Finn, remembering her as she had been, brimming with intelligent luminosity and possessing an inner compass that pointed toward that which was right. As the memories welled within him he cast out a hand and released them in a thin beam of Force Light that sped toward Spark Finn's chest.

By comparison to Corvus' powerful blasts it was insignificant, yet Ryan was not attempting rip the Dark Side from those who had been immersed in it for centuries. He simply wanted to break the shackles of a young girl who'd had the wool pulled over her eyes. He would set her free of whatever insidious influence lay on her mind, then she could make the choice for good or ill on her own, with no outside interference.

"Finn! Save Master Raaf!"

Then he whirled on the shadow that had struck him from behind, a towering Sith noble who faded in and out of existence even now. Korr knew he needed to even the odds. Neither blade nor the power of the Force would avail him against such an opponent in this game of cat and mouse.

So he changed the game.

Ryan charged Darth Carach, who by concentrating on defeating Corvus had left himself open to the revealing Force Sight of a weathered Jedi. The flame-haired Vahla aimed low, for the knees, attempting to surge into Carach and send both of them tumbling off the platform, locked in a crushing embrace.

The plan was set. Twenty eight of the Republic’s finest lurked in the branches and platforms above the Kashyyyk senator and his newfound friends. When they came within distance, the soldiers would be propelled from the trees and begin their new task, the safe evacuation of the Senator, Jack Sparrow.

Slate’s blood was racing. If the plan did not succeed it could prove to be fatal for all members of the unit. Nobody could tell what would happen next, there were simply too many variables at play. But all Slate knew is that it was unlikely that all members of his team would survive this encounter, however where necessary he would trade his life for the safety of theirs.

Finally, the senator and his droid escort were in range. It was time.

Propelling down from their vantage spots above, the soldiers dove headfirst into battle. With them followed multiple rockets from the X-60 Happy Boomer, that were aimed around their targets in an attempt to disperse them. Upon their landing, Slate and his soldiers would begin firing into the droids surrounding the senator. Blaster bolts and Slugthrower projectiles were traded between the competing forces in the firefight. Hopefully their surprise attack would give the Archangels the upper hand, if not, there smalls numbers may cause their defeat. No matter how the battle treated them, they would not give up until they were dead or the senator was safe.

As soon as the word restraints was mentioned Surah shifted.

There was something in the air that changed around her, something that was baleful, filled with bile and rage. The look in her eyes became dark, the glow flashing slightly, the bright twin suns shifting towards the Kel Dor.

Surah was the inheritor of the gifts of Nemene Talith. A Sith Lord that by all indication had been the only Master of Darkside healing in the galaxy at the time. This healing had extended to herself, and the entire time that Surah had been standing there waiting for Kian to make a decision, she had been healing. The patches of her flesh had sealed, the wounds had been made whole, and Surah stood ready.

When he spoke, when he turned away from Surah and towards his apprentice, she attacked.

She moved with the speed and grace that only a blademaster could, a ballerina practiced in death. She dashed towards The Jedi master, her form becoming a blur. Her hands moved quickly, almost too quick to see. Arm moved around him, feet locked into place between his. In an instant she attempted to grapple him, jump on him, wrap her arm around his neck, placing it in the crook of her elbow and then locking herself in place

Then she jutted her legs through his own, kicking them out from underneath him. If she succeeded in all this it would end with Surah locking Kian in place on the ground, his neck in the her arm, her legs wrapped around him and her free hand groping for his lightsaber.

At first I was going to protest the fact that he was going back in there alone but I didn't have the strength nor the training to actually sustain in the battle. I was tired, hurt, heck even my lightsaber couldn't active but the Sith didn't need to know that. I simply nodded and said "Yes Master".

I took the datapad from his hands that displayed a coordinate on a small grid. The medical center was a little south of here and was only about a fifteen minute walk from here. I motioned to the Wookies to grab the Sith and start walking then said "I'll get healed up and monitor the battle from the medic center. If you need me contact me."

I was about to walk away when the Sith out of nowhere attacked sprang towards Master Karr. I yelled "Look out".

IN THE SKIES OVER THE TREE AND THE BEACH

Fog is still up

[member="Thane Drexel"] [member="Sressechka"]

-14 Sliviliths - crashing and colliding against the republic starfighters

More of the large creatures would end up crashing against the tree. Some were felled by rockets, others simply would go into collision courses with the flying republic fighters.

They would find that these great big green creatures would make their straffing difficult unless they were taken care of first.

A swipe would come from above as a big green slivilith would fly close to the top of the tree to grab at a few wookiees with their tentacles -- to eat them. [member="Ryan Korr"]

And the waves of darkness would creep back to reveal the thick fog created by Soliael Deven Talith.

While the waves of darkness was gone, the fog had not. Either way, a massive clash of wookiess against the Yuuzhan Vong would continue. Singularity mines would get chucked out towards the thickest area of Wookiee congregation. Essentially a smaller relative of the dovin basals hidden in a shell-like explosive container, the singularity mines worked on the same principle as they created small black holes that sucked and obliterated a target that came near its vicinity. What made them all the more dangerous was that, at a glance, one could not even notice any of the effects being generated by the mine until a person stepped near it.

So they would roll under their feet, until suddenly...

WHOOOOOOOSHHHHHHH!

Half a dozen small black holes would aim to suck at the Wookiees and obliterate the targets that came to it's vicinity.

The graug were almost spent. As were the droids. Over six hundred dead in that last wave.

The line of shields would continue on, moving towards the tree. Fire and acid would continue to spit out, but a few would explode here and there. The Vong would continue to push, using the head to toe shield cover as a method to push the line to the great tree.

[member="Ryan Korr"] NPC forces are moving up higher into the tree.

Thermals and fragmentation grenades. The Ravager would boom -- and boom it did.

More pink Vong mist would cut swaths across the Vong lines -- but they would get paid in turn by aiming at the sensitive backpacks of those pulse canons. They were intended to make their wielder a living explosive weapon -- but those that were not pointed out to be shot at were quickly taken advantage of the time it took to recharge and reload. It was a long cool down period between shots, so the Red Guard would take advantage of this along with the Yuuzhan Vong, moving into melee range to battle it out.

The Royal guards would continue their path up the tree, moving past the middle on wards towards the top. Subsequently so would the Graug -- but they became meatshields too.

The fighting was fierce! Those royal guard who arrived at the middle would pave the way for the start of occupation for the blackblades coming in behind them. They would start to secure areas, make defensive lines.

Higher and higher. Step by step. Shot by shot. The scent of blood and charred flesh was thick in the air. More bodies would go tumbling down from the tree, bowcasters would strike at yuuzhan vong and graug alike.

This high up in the tree combat became a bit more upclose and personal. Chitin Carbines were used to deploy to fire out thud bugs. Razor bugs, snapbugs, and blast bugs were flung left and right, intending to buzz their way into the thick fur of the Wookiees protecting the tree.

Hydrastaffs and amphistaffs were now being used against the wookiees. This Serpent staff that can spit acid, harden into a spear, or be used as a whip. Can deflect lightsabers.

Sensislugs were deployed now: Sensislugs released a chemical composition that was able to render most humanoids unconscious for a short period of time. The effects of were quite unpleasant for the victim: nausea, disorientation, serious headaches, and an irritated nose.

More borash jelly was used to hold their victims in place.

The blackblades would take hits, being tired and all, some died, but those who lived in steel cold hard fear of the great Vornskr would continue on!

Failure would not be an option. The forces would split in half, with half of the Blackblades moving towards the middle of the tree. They would secure and hold down the areas claimed previously by the Red Guard, Graug and the Vong. They were here to secure the tree behind the main driving force.

So they would start setting up areas of defense, staging places for One SIth Forces to fall back to. Little by little, the tree would start coming under control of the One Sith as the BlackBlades came to occupy the location starting from the bottom and up.

The Wookies were a strong and proud race, even though they were civilians, even though their weapons were rag fitted and randomly picked up in a hurry, they were still a menacing foe to be facing. Growls permeated through the air, their war cries reaching far and wide, it only gave the Yuuzhan Vong more desire. More passion to slam themselves into the wall of meat and teeth. A first breech was made, but it was costly, vong died by the ten dozens as the Wookies and Republic soldiers used their superior positions.

It was only through the usage of superior equipment, in the form of their crab armour and the protection of the shields in the brinks, that they did not break immediately. Through sheer force of will the Vong army slammed forwards, securing the brink and yet... the day would have been lost, if not for the timely intervention of inside insurgency forces. The wookies were about to push their assailants out again, when suddenly they found themselves fighting from two sides.

Graug.

Where had they come from? The Army of Light had position roughly three thousand Graugs within the city proper, a thousand stayed loyal and marched to their death under the banner of the Archlord, another thousand managed to break out of the city and regroup with Carach's forces on the beach. But what of the remaining thousand? They had been hunted by the wookies, essential knowledge of the city, coordination and teamwork had managed to reduce the thousand to a mere fife hundred, and now... they were here.

By surprise they took the brave wookies and their Republic allies from behind, another hundred Graug died in those fleeting moments as armies collided with each other, but the end had been sealed in blood. The outer fringes of the city were now filling themselves with the Yuuzhan Vong armies, guided by Akuna and his Slayers.

Every minute that passed, it seemed like there were just more and more powerful Sith Lords entering the battle. The Jedi Master didn't doubt that they'd soon be overrun by the Sith rather than the enemy being reinforced by other Jedi and Republic forces. Two Jedi Masters and one Jedi Knight could only do so much against multiple Sith Lords and Knights. A younger Zaren Bouqi would've thought it amusing that they needed so many to kill them, but when he thought back on it, it was usually the Sith who were outnumbered by the Jedi and the Republic -- at least in the history books.

Smooth motions were probably the only thing that would save him there. Still sliding over the platform, finally as the Hydrastaff lunged out at him, his right hand clenched, and the phrik blade extended and was deposited into his hand. Extending a single leg from behind him, and rising up with his left hand to slash upwards into the hydrastaff's spitting venom, all the while rising up to it's downward attack and bringing his right arm up and decapitating a single head. Of course from simply doing that, it would've given the hydrastaff the extension it needed to extend around his arm and start to wrap around him and search for it's crevices and openings, to poison him or just strangle him. Whichever it was, the Protector of Tython knew he had made a mistake the moment he extended his arm, but he could only continue with the actions he had made.

I mean, it's not like they gave crash courses in fighting Yuuzhan Vong technology in the Jedi Order, right?

Just as he was getting to his feet with his second leg, his lowered form was struck by [member="Darth Nephthys"]'s force push, and it shoved him down to the ground and caused him to roll even closer to the edge of the platform, not without turning off his lightsabre though. In his current state, he was just about to guide the phriik blade to [member="Darth Nephthys"]'s side, as he was hit by [member="Darth Venefica"]'s force push too, and just that alone threw him the rest of the way over. He wasn't sure if his blade hit anyone, but he was certain that from his extended arm, it had been heading to it's target.

And then he was falling...

Veino eyed the dark shadow that lingered in the fog that cloaked the area. He had to take this Sith down before they reached him. Already he could feel the Force getting more difficult to access. But then they were gone and it was like he could suddenly breathe again. He grinned and let himself laugh as blaster bolts started arcing towards him from the survivors of his detonators. His lightsaber flashed back and forth, sending several darting back to those who fired them.

Behind him, his two squads opened fire from their positions behind cover in bursts of concentrated blaster fire towards two or three targets before moving on to the next, sweeping their way across the formation of disoriented and slowly recovering Sith forces.

. Screams and blaster fire echoed around the branches before escaping into space. Explosions rolled up from the beach. So he really had no idea what she was saying and he took his custom stance as she kept running towards him. He wasn't going to waste energy rushing towards her. There was a war to fight and he wasn't going to do any running he didn't have to.

She leaped over his head, and he stepped to the side, walking himself around her to keep her between him and her soldiers. She swung both blades at him and he simply stepped back out of range.

“Finally one of you showed up! Did your ship break down and running like cowards fail?“

He raised an eyebrow.

"That is the most absurd leap of logic I have ever heard. Nobody showed up because you're the least threatening Sith on the battlefield."

He deflected a few more blaster bolts that came too close and behind him, he heard muttered cursing as a blaster bolt managed to work its way through the Warden class armor to hit the soldier underneath. Someone shouted they were breaking cover and Veino moved into action, throwing his hand out to whip up a cloud of dust between his forces and the Sith troops.

"Clear!" They were back behind cover. He dropped his hand and the dust settled back down and resumed his defensive stance and sent a focused Force push straight towards the mask, aiming to shatter it.

As she noted his attacks she realized he was distracted, taking her own force powers up she pulled at a platform of walkways above the covered republic forces. Pulling a part of it down it fell in chunks dropping and killing some of the enemy soldiers making others lose cover. This gave her own troops time to recover and finish returning cohesion and fire back in a more focused way. However this meant she took a blast of force to the face sending her backward several feet before recovering. Her mask cracked and broke revealing her pretty face. The only oddity was her blank white eyes the sign of her heritage and showing the Jedi she was not viewing him through the eyes normally. No she was seeing him through the force. She changed up and moved toward him now striking with each blade in rapid succession ensuring to let him block one so she can counter with another. Using ataru style moves mixed with a makashi formula she was able to make the flamboyant flourishing moves also accurate and precise. Life was far too easy to take, the distinctive war cry of a wookie gave away the beast before even his precognition picked it up. Beneath the pale metallic mask his eyes settled on the trio of warriors rushing him with their bowcaster's raised.

Without breaking a sweat the knight telekinetically reached out and slung the one on the far right into the others. The two skidded across the ground as he yanked the third toward him, clasping his armored hand around the wookie's throat with a seemingly unbreakable grip. Struggling desperately the native of the planet pulled at Cale's hand, hoping in vain to pry himself free.

With a quick squeeze the muscle and windpipe of the wookie were crushed inwards as he snapped the hairy warrior's neck. As blood spurted from the animal's mouth Cale dropped it, letting it collapse into a heap as he turned to face the remaining two, slowly trotting towards them with a nondescript hilt in hand.

The one from the far left got up first, squeezing off a single shot only for the Sith's blade to snap to life and redirect the bolt back into its head. Jerking backwards violently, the wookie collapsed.

Winded and from what Cale could tell nursing several broken ribs his last opponent struggled to its feet, heaving and wheezing as it glared defiantly into the plod spattered slits of the mask. It new death was coming, this made things easier. As the titanic resistor stepped forward and lunged with a fist, a quick movement cut the arm off and the elbow. Crying out in pain the wookie clutched the singed stump, doubling over in agony and looking up only long enough to see a blade run through his skull.

As the final member of the group of assailants dealt with, Cale pulled his blade free from the animal's head and let the body collapse as he deactivated his saber. Drawing onto the force he reached out to none other than [member="Darth Praelior"].

The rockets came slinking after her XJ-9 fighter as Angel Five ascended for a loop that would bring her back downwards and into another strafing run. Unfortunately for the soldiers below, shoulder-launched rockets really are not that reliable against a fighter capable of transonic speeds, though it was certainly a scary situation before she had to bail out of her initial attack run.

What was incredibly odd, however, was the presence of these strange creatures that had that distinctly disgusting appearance--and presumably, smell--of some Vong monster. Again, the anti-air weaponry here was remarkably outclassed by her X-Wing. Where these monsters scary? Sure. But they did not have a chance against a starfighter. Especially not against one flown by a seasoned aerobat.

The bugs from space had membranous wings. Angel Five's four laser cannons zipped tremendous fire at the flying creatures, inevitably riddling their wings with large holes and torching their innards. When it comes to big bugs, you just need a big flyswatter.

Walkway by walkway, chamber by chamber, they were inexorably pushing the defending forces back. It came with a high cost, the screams of the dying echoed across the forest. The Yuuzhan Vong and Wookies accepted their faces stoically, but the other forces cried and wailed. Pathetic creatures, really, they did not deserve this galaxy. At least some of them died cursing their foes, that was better she supposed.

The Tree was stained with dark patches. The wood thirstily soaking up Yuuzhan Vong, Graug, Wookie and Human blood alike. It would take weeks forth the inhabitants to sand away those dark patches once the day was done.

Her skin inched where sand had entered her armour. Her shoulder burned from where a ryyk blade had taken a chunk out of her armour and bruised the muscles. Her neck and back throbbed from the time a wookie had tried to forcibly remove her head from her shoulders. Yet still, as the cry from above signalled another wookie counter charge she grinned.

"On me!" she called and a wedge of warriors immediately formed around her. Amphistaffs stretched out as spears to the front, the buzz of Nag Hul wings being readied for flight behind. The collective aggression, the sounds of heavy breathing and quiet prayers to the gods of war. It was infectious.

The wookies rounded the curvature of the tree and Khallesh called the counter-charge. She could think of no better way to die.

Should I stay or should I go now? (Yo! ¿Me frío o lo soplo?)
If I go there will be trouble (Si me voy, va a haber peligro)

And if I stay it will be double (Si me quedo, es doble)
So you gotta let me know (Pero que tienes que decir)

Should I cool it or should I blow? (¿Me frío o lo soplo?)'

The Force was a subtle and mysterious thing. It was able to detect subtle nuances and if trained and listening, it could tell you things.

Sometimes you just needed eyes and a pair of ears. A speeder at full throttle and a bearded Sith Lord bearing down on you did not need the Force to warn you of its impending arrival.

Aware that one Sith Lord has slipped the Force Light, they must have seen the incoming speeder at the same time. Corvus immediately dropped the Force Light and used Force Valor to jump over the oncoming speeder and took no heed as to where it might eventually end up.

But as she jumped, she felt a force holding her back. Instead of clearing the bike by a sizeable margin, it clipped her ankle and she fell rather than landed. Jumping to her feet, she hastily adopted the textbook opening Soresu stance, the pain in her heel telling her she'd clearly broken something.

Entering Center of Being, she readied herself for some lightsaber action. She toyed with the idea of telling the incoming Sith a fun fact about Darth Bane. About how he'd gone after Andeddu's holocron because he believed that, as a Sith in his late thirties he was too old to be an active Lord. But judging by the new arrival's face, she decided it was a story she could keep for later.

Codex Judge
Location: Inside the city
Objective A: Take that damn thing
Allies: the Army of Death
Enemies: The Tree People

Forces:
Middle: 4000 (Transfer from @Vrag) + 3500 (Transfer from [member="Darth Arcanix"])
7500 Yuuzhan Vong, flooding the other side. Enemies? All dem tree people.
Losses: 1550 Vong / 150 Graug

The wookies and their Republic allies were putting up an awesome display of mettle and audacity, Vong died by the score, but it was all in the name of the Goddess and so they would move on. Slowly they and the other Sith forces secured and took over the outer reaches of the tree, occupying it from the base and working their way up to the heart of the Tree.

It would take too long to describe all that which had unfolded, but see there, a wookie sniper, perching on the roof of their holy place, picking off targets whilst his foes were trying to break into his sanctum. He might have taken twenty, thirty, before the Vong finally broke through and managed to slay him, position secured, a high vantage point acquired, but many lives sacrificed for the unicom of strategy.

This was the tale of the foreign occupiers attempting to take that which did not want to be taken, many more of such stories could be told. A school barricaded, its hallways flooded with the ghoulish blood of those trying to occupy it, every corner layed death and deceit. But the Yuuzhan Vong would not be denied, over the corpses of their brethren they kept coming until the very last one of the tree people were finally slaughtered.

And so the middle points of the tree would finally find itself occupied under the strength and heel of the Yuuzhan Vong and their enigmatic slayer general, he who once was a leader of men and turned his cloak against his will.

Pockets of resistance would be formed within the occupied territory, audacity challenged, but slowly and surely they too would be rooted out.

Location: The Tree
Long term Objective A: Capture the Tree
Short term: Control.
Allies: [member="Qun Vell"] | [member="Spark Finn"] || @Y’all [member="Darth Nephthys"]
Enemies Proximity: Nobody yet
Directly Engaging: [member="Ryan Korr"] || [member="Corvus Raaf"]

For Spark:
Lady Finn had been his personal experiment, she was so different from the delightful power of [member="Matsu Xiangu"], so… innocent, uncorrupted to a faint degree. At least from the outside, but Carach knew the simple truth of it all, because he had been there, he had entered the Spark’s mind and seen her measure. She had been a hacker, a girl who disliked authority, she lied, she stole; audacity fulfilled.

This did not make her a bad person, no, this made her a person who was more easily seduced to that which is truly dark. But the problem, the stupid, little easily forgotten problem was that Force Light in essence… was light infused with the Light side of the Force. What did this mean for Spark though?

Had she not been seduced by the Darkside? Was her mind not warped to the inch of sanity and then some, to serve her Dark Lord? Was it not the Darkside that clung to the inner corners of her fragile mind, disguising everything that was friendly as evil, and everything evil as friendly?

Well.

Not quite.

Mentalism… was not inherently of the Darkside or the Lightside. Was the act of mind tricking a Stormtrooper to forget his duty bad? Was it good? Such questions were important, but they held no place in this discussion. What mattered was that Carach had not utilized the Darkside in her subtle attempts to bend Spark to his side, he had taken away memories, burned them from her mind until they existed no longer, he had made her time with the Order vague, as if it had been years ago that she had spend her time with them - instead of mere months.

The good sides of the Jedi were blurred, the bad sides pronounced and all was simple mentalism, simple modification of the memories inherent to a person and they would not simply return by being blasted with a Lightside Beam of Booyah.

What would happen though? There was that pesky Techno Virus within her bloodstream and cells, beckoning her, healing her when in danger and subtly bending her even more to Carach’s image. That was a different story, but it was so deep entrenched into her being that a simple blast of Light would not give her clarity, what it would do was something unexpected.

Something that Carach had not foreseen and neither had Korr (probably). Pain could erupt as the sheer intensity of the Lightside touched Spark and through it all the Techno Virus and Carach’s mental manipulations would make one thing clear to her.

She was under attack! The Jedi! They had taken the first move, now was the time to act! Defend your Master, finish the… eh… green dude? and save your Lord!

For Korr:
Corvus fell, serenity turned into pain and agony, before returning to serene tranquility. It would be enough for him, he had not forgotten about Korr, but he had deemed him a less threatening target - perhaps a mistake, as Carach felt the pain of his apprentice and heard the shout of her former name, it gave him warning, but not enough of a warning.

Korr crashed into him. Form had been low, settled, a direct conclusion of the ending of his roll and the refusal to stand up straight again. So the Vahla Prince’s tackle would meet a solid target, small and through his feet firmly planted there would be heavy resistance.

Even still, the crab armor would screech softly as the weight crashed into it, ribs and tendons overstretched themselves and almost snapped, but not just yet. Carach felt the pain and loved every moment of it, around his waist had been the Hydra-staff, his ever present companion and now it would act in defense of its Master. As Korr flew into him, the Hydra-staff would unwrap from its place and attempt to constrict the Jedi, biting him, poisoning him and generally being a pain in the metaphorical ass.

Carach on the other hand attempted to grab for the lightsaber, to disarm his opponent while he was dealing with the Hydra.

Location: The Great Tree
Objective: A, Take the tree
Allies: [member="Darth Nephthys"], [member="Darth Carach"], [member="Vrag"], [member="Shuduc Macar"]
Enemies: [member="Corvus Raaf"], [member="Ryan Korr"], [member="Veino Garn"]

She watched with glee as the Jedi fell off the side. A victory dance would have been in order, but giving the situation, it would have to wait. The Sith were working as a cohesive unit, thrashing the notion that everyone believed they were always out for themselves. Now with the arrival of two more Sith Lords, [member="Darth Vitium"] and [member="Darth Vornskr"], the tree was all but theirs. As she took a step toward the male Jedi, she felt through the Master and Apprentice bond the raging emotions of [member="Shuduc Macar"], her Miraluka Apprentice. Spinning on her heels, she charged down to the base of the tree to see the girl engaged with a male Jedi, while each side's small band of soldiers had been drawn into a gunfight.

Moving like blur to flank them from behind while pulling out her last remaining explosive device from her bag of tricks, she used the Force to guide the thermal detonator to land in the centre of [member="Veino Garn"]'s troops. The explosion caught them unaware tearing through them like wet paper, killing some in the process while wounding others and confusing the rest. The mad Sith from Dagobah, always the opportunist, took advantage from their confusion and began striking them down as they stumbled to regain their senses, dropping three quickly with precise slashes. Turning her attention to another confused trooper, she invaded his mind and bent his will to serve her, forcing him to turn on his wounded comrades.

She methodically thinned the enemy and slowly she began to pick them off one by one, dodging and weaving, batting and redirecting blaster fire back at them, all the while giving her Apprentice's soldiers time to mount an assualt and move toward the Great Tree; and give the Miraluka girl the advantage in the fight.
