WELCOME TO HELL

Why was it that Tatooine always seemed to call the man back? The Exarch looked over the sandy dunes in silent contemplation of the question. Yes, this world seemed firmly stamped into the back of his mind. It seemed every few months he would visit the world, even if just to rest a hand in the shifting sands below. A foolish, whimsical notion but one he continued to indulge himself in. Still, today he did not stand alone. They were on a raised plateau that stood some few hundred feet above the barren sands of the Jundland wastes. There were many such rock formations around the planet, but this one was special. It was incredibly steep, nearly impossible to traverse from the bottom. This day, the Sith Lord had brought two of his apprentices along with him. It would be the first time that Xobos Yakieer Xobos Yakieer met Danielle Mueller, at least since the young girl had entered his service. So now the sibling apprentices would get to meet one another. Rather, see each other.

Adron stood at the edge of the plateau. The only sound that could be heard was the steady sound of metal clanging against metal. There were a few of the BX-Commando droids on the plateau as well. They seemed to be making simple preparations. One of the units approached the Dark Lord and spoke briefly two him. The man did not regard the droid, instead gestured a few feet away from where he stood. So in the next minute the battledroid was carrying a table from their shuttle and extending it on the edge of the plateau.

In the center of the rock mass, one of the droids was using his fist as a sledgehammer, bolting a giant, steel circlet into the ground via a metal spike. It had to have penetrated nearly five feet into the rock before finally the droid stopped it's insufferable banging.

When the banging did come to an end, the Exarch began to speak softly. "Do you remember this exercise, Xobos?" He asked his eldest apprentice, though his tone hinted that here was no possible way the Miralukan could ever forget it. He turned to the two with an all too content expression. "Yes, I imagine you do." He said in punctuation to the sentence.

One of the BX Commando droids approached Danielle. "
Stay still." It ordered, then it slipped on a rather thick, heavy, version of a blast vest. It seemed to be built to protect the girl from some form of kinetic damage. The Droid was rough and curt, slipping the vest on and strapping it tightly to the woman. Adron looked to Danielle and spoke as the droid finished the preparations.

"The Force is a single web to tie us all together. All things, living and non-living. With these connections we are able to cast certain fields around things we wish. We use these fields to lift objects through telekinesis or sometimes to create vacuums in a person's throat, so they may not breathe. However, there is another thing this field can do. When focusing on yourself it can magnify the abilities of the body one-hundred fold, making feats that are impossible to the most well trained, child's play."

"To do this you must harness that same power that broke you out of your mind and use it on your body. Your muscles, your arms, and even your legs can all be magnified through the Force. Abandon your notions of what is possible and what is not. Turn your mind to the deepest emotions you can harness and make the impossible possible." He explained to the girl. Just as he did, she would hear an odd clamping sound on the back of her vest. Adron brought his hands down upon the girl's shoulders, smiling softly at the young apprentice. "This is going to hurt." He said, before suddenly a repulse exploded from the Sith Lord.

Danielle would take to the skies. Tethered to the metal circlet that had been driven into the rock formation she would not fall to the ground, and the impact vest would stop her bones from breaking against the rock, but she would still feel as if she was about to slam into the ground and die.

As the woman went over the edge of the small mountain, Adron exhaled before looking to his other apprentice. "A drink then. I'm thirsty." He said, as the droids pulled out a small bar, placing it on the table before them.

She had accompanied the Exarch and the other Man compliantly, doing as instructed and gathering a satchel of belongings that had been slung over her shoulders before departing the World of Naboo to further explore the Galaxy; And while Exarch Malvern had every intention of revisiting locations of old, these would be new Worlds that Dani had yet to see first hand.

Tatooine was a fairly dense world of Sand and rock, orbited by two Suns which made the days long and the heat arduous when not making the trek without the proper equipment. Fortunately for Danielle, her "Kit" was made up of the military standard, heavy and yet carrying the essentials with her for surviving in foreign territories and encompassing only a single change of clothes, where as the rest of her equipment was medical, dietary or otherwise of a survivalist requirement when faced with the unknown.

Standing atop the great rock pillar facing Adron however, she couldn't help but cast her eyes about their environment and wonder what the objective here was. The three of them were presently being accompanied by BX Commando Droids, although Dee herself had never seen their kind before and thus-far hadn't yet to witness their capabilities in the field beyond the single droid that seemed to inform her to remain still as it began to exchange her satchel for some other sort of equipment.

"What the chit..." she muttered to herself in an apprehensive show of dispute.

When Exarch Malvern began to speak however, Dani's want to fight the droid off was quickly overtaken by her intrigue and desire to hear what he had to say for their arrival upon the towering pillar surrounded by nothing but sand and the absence of life.

During their previous session, Adron Malvern had pulled Danielle into the recess of her mind in which all else around her had gone dark; Not in a sense that there was a shadow over the room, but that the room itself was blacked out and nothing at all had been visible, not even the floor of which she thought she had been stood upon. There had simply been nothing else, but she herself, his guidance and her objective to break herself free.

Now he explained that she would need to display that level of awareness and control once again. He said that it would allow her to achieve things that were thought to be impossible, feats that others were incapable of achieving. And then he also stated that it would hurt...-Danielle didn't understand...

Then there was a sudden and powerful impact that took her off of her feet and threw her back over the edge, her cry echoing out across the sky as she had been thrown well clear of the surface of the pillar, sent over into what she expected to be certain death by Adron himself.

After the experience in the mind, she had told Zax to get her a meeting with the King as soon as possible. When they had gotten to speak very little about the happening, that request had once again been made. The necessity of it was something that she wanted her master to know, and thankfully, he had seemed to recognize that. Being invited on this mission, she was a bit surprised to see that they had a third with them to travel to wherever it was that they were going.

Xobos had spent much of the journey near the back of the shuttle, sitting cross legged, desperately trying to enter into her mental mediation space that had allowed her to speak to the voices before. She had been able to get there, but the voices did not manifest. It was silent. Nothing but a dark and endless void where she was completely alone. An unnerving experience to say the very least. Hopefully, there would be time to speak to Adron about the matter during whatever training he was dragging her along for. Perhaps she should have spent more time getting to know what she could only assume was a new sister apprentice. Most times, the Miraluka would do exactly that, instead of sitting off by herself. These were matters, however, of her own mind, and were extremely troubling. No reason to drag another into them just yet that did not need to know, outside of her master.

Finding herself back on Tatooine after such a short time after her recent Krayt Dragon hunt, where she found herself more than just a few pearls, was an interesting experience to say the least. And, frankly, despite having found multiple very valuable things and people on her last trip to the planet, it did exactly bring up the best of memories. When Adron asked if she remembered the exercise that was about to happen, and after witnessing the materials that the droids had brought, Xobos let out a soft chuckle. “Of course, I do. Quite the harsh test to be putting someone so…young, through.” The speech that followed was one that she had heard before, yet even now she made sure to listen closely. With learners of her own, these were the tests and lessons that needed to be learned and passed on to continue to create the strongest of sith.

The eldest apprentice and royal knight suppressed a smile when Danielle was strapped in, then repulsed roughly off the cliff face. It was..interesting seeing it from this side, instead of being the one strapped into the rigging. Turning to Adron, the slight look of surprise on her face would have been evident. This..this was certainly very different than anything that she had experienced up to this point in their relationship as master and apprentice. With her helmet held in one hand, she made her way over to where the King had sat, sitting across from him. As she awaited the droid to serve the wine, her sight through the force focused on where the young apprentice had been repulsed off the cliff, and was surely almost done falling at this point. “How long has she been in your service?”

After the young girl had been sent over the edge of the cliff, the King ordered his droid to pour a clear wine in the flutes that were placed on the table. Almost immediately the king took his flute in his hand, taking a measured sip of the wine as he considered his apprentices question. Finally, he set the flute down, glancing down to ensure the woman he'd thrown off the side of the cliff had not somehow expired from the fall. It was not likely, however it was not impossible. When he saw the woman at the bottom of the rocks, he could not help but scoff in mild amusement at the sight. "Not long. However she is learning fast. Her comprehension of the Force is vague and somewhat savage, but it serves as a good stone to polish."

He leaned back into his seat, his expression of of discontent as a warm breeze flew over the cliff. It was a simple thing to call on the Force to regulate the temperature of his body. With the help of the Force, even in his well-tailored ebony suit he did not shed even a bead of sweat. "She's yet to receive her mark. However, when the time comes she will be ready." The Sith Lord set the flute in his hands on the table before turning his amethyst eyes towards Xobos. "Now. I did not bring you here to meet my newest apprentice." He said, before turning his eyes to Xobos.

"There was a distinct quake in the Dark Side. Something that had somehow escaped my sight for sometime has now become a beacon in the Force." The man leaned over, taking hold of Xobos wrist and pressing his hand into her arm forcefully. The moment that Adron gripped his apprentice's forearm a hot pain would rush over her arm as if it had been held over hot coals. Even through her armor, the mark she wore would pulse with the Dark Side, yet it echoed out in a hindered manner. "Something in you has changed enough to effect your mark." He released her arm and took his flute back in his hand in one fluid motion. "I suppose this has something to do with that mess in Garde Noire. Another matter we need to discuss."

Standing from his seat, Adron kept his eyes fastened on Danielle's progress with his arms crossed over his chest.

It felt as though the Girl's stomach was hollowed out as her body was launched over the edge, her vision a blur of various parts of her surroundings as she rag-dolled, uncontrollably turning mid-air and her violent descent began. The cliff-face was no directly vertical drop, but a steep angled decline of uneven rock, hardened with time and merciless.

Danielle had no real time to try to piece together why she had been cast away, let alone to attempt to guard herself during such a chaotic experience. The Girl couldn't truly know how her life would end, and yet the fear set in as she assumed this was it.

She hit the mountainside landing against her right side, weight coming down upon her shoulder and head as the outlaying rock halted her in her fall with such an impact that she was propelled, bouncing off to continue her fall. Her legs would catch the next, though falling at an angle the impact forced her body to spin and she then hit the earth rolling violently.

Everything went black.

Danielle found herself in that place once more. The recess of her mind and consciousness, and although she hadn't meant to, it was a means of distancing herself from the immense pain and fear of the moment. Physically, she was stall falling, yet in this state she retained some sense of control...-A safety net if you will, while life continued on the outside.

Standing alone in the abyss, she reached out with her right hand and light burst through the veil, growing as the tear in the dark grew wide and high into a 'doorway' of sorts. It was her entrance back into the real world, although she did not step towards it, Danielle only wished to perform the task that Adron had previously given her, to try to find and feel out that sense of control needed to protect herself.

Watching as her flute was filled with the clear, bubbly liquid, she felt a sense of slight ease winding through her that had not been there for days now. Ever sense the voices had stopped speaking, she realized just how lonely one’s own head could be. Without the voices, it was only her thoughts. Those thoughts were so..pessimistic sometimes. Most of the time, really, and there was nothing to drown them out. A soft sigh escaped the Miraluka’s lips as she reached out to grasp the flute, bringing it to her lips to sip down the wine. Along with the sense of ease, the feeling of warmth from the liquid was a welcome change from the neverending cold that had enveloped her body.

The description of the new apprentice brought a small smile to her face, one that she hid behind the edges of the flute. “Heh…sounds like a certain force user you found on Roon. How exactly do you keep managing to find these lost tooka cats, master?” He did seem to find his best apprentices as rougher than most would take on. It allowed him to mold them to exactly what his needs necessitated. It’s what he had done with Xobos, and she had turned out…somewhat successful. At least in her eyes.

Revealing why he had brought her here didn’t surprise her that it wasn’t to meet the new apprentice. While she would have eventually without any doubt, to come on a training mission was different than how Adron typically handled matters like this one. Whatever had sent a quake through the force, it was enough for him to want her to see him. Quickly. And by the time these thoughts had made their way through her mind, the King had made his way back over to her and had started to reveal her mark.

The pain that blossomed through her arm and the rest of her body reminded her of only one experience. Pain that she felt whenever Ambrus made her relive that night. As much as she tried to resist it, Xobos couldn’t help the sharp cry of pain that was pulled from her lungs. Without a warning, it ceased, prompting a pained sigh from the apprentice. Her eyes, having gone back from the pain and lack of concentration in the force, cleared to see Adron making his way to the cliff face. While clenching and unclenching her fist, attempting to alleviate the last resonations of pain, she made her way over to join him.

“It was…an interesting experience in the mines, to be sure.” One hand still grasped onto her forearm, she peered over the edge of the cliff, seeing the new apprentice laying still at the bottom. Xobos let out a soft hum of disapproval, turning to make her way back over to the table. “Can you tell if she’s alright?”

LEARN

When the Exarch heard his apprentice's words he couldn't help but deliver a simple scoff from his lips. "You were more than a stone to polish. Your connection to the Force has always been one that is best tempered and guided. Had you remained on Roon I have no doubt that you would have succumb to madness within the next three to five years. Then you'd have been of no use to the galaxy. Merely a savage mindset with an ill temper." He said, before directing his words towards his apprentices next question. "Once, long ago, I lost my connection to the Force. It was a brief time however it served as a necessary lesson. We are nothing without the interweaving tethers of the Force. They brought me to you, as they brought me to Alden, as they brought me to Shakti, and now they have brought me to Danielle." He said, gesturing over the edge of the cliff towards his newest apprentice and the struggle she would have to overcome.
As the man turned his eyes to the apprentice that lingered at the bottom of the rocks, he lightly pressed himself into the fabric of the Dark Side. He could so vividly feel the subtle traces of life in the girl. The blood flowing through her veins, the soft beating of her heart, and the wisps of thought that flew through her mind. It was when he realized exactly what had occured that he gazed down with a silent, unreadable expression.
"How interesting." The Sith Lord breathed before crossing his arms and glancing back at his older apprentice disapprovingly. "Search the Force and tell me." He curtly responded to her before turning towards Xobos. "She is fine. Do not ask questions you yourself can find the answer for, that is a lesson I am sure you know and understand by now." He chastised her.
"She has control of The Force, although it is still mostly subconscious. She has unlocked the pits of her mind and now when faced with shock and pain she's fled there...I don't believe it was voluntary, but it is not an altogether bad thing." His hand came to brush against his shaven chin for a spare moment before he turned from the edge of the cliff. "She will awaken in time and then her training can begin in earnest."
In reference to the mines, the Sith Lord could not help but show some amusement. "Interesting? To say the least. Sieur Xobos Yakieer, Mistress of the Shadow Cats. The presence of the Maalraas on that world was something I noticed when I first arrived, however I must say I was impressed to hear you found a method to control them. Even the most savage beings can prove difficult to impose your will over. You have to override natural instinct which can often prove more difficult than overriding something like willpower."
"Be wary of connections of the mind." He warned her, pressing a single finger to his temple as he spoke. "An open door is traversable through both sides. While I don't have any worries of a simple Maalraas breaching your mental connection, something with a bit more sentience could prove dangerous. If you let your guard down for even a second then the result can be the loss of your entire persona and the master will become the slave."
"Now explain to me what happened in that mine. I sense a stillness in your mind that does not usually present itself. However, there is more to it, I can tell."

When Danielle came to, her consciousness returning to her, the Girl found herself laying flat upon her stomach surrounded by broken and loose shards of rock a good third of the way down the cliff-face. By some miracle she had managed to survived and to do so without any broken bones seemed too good to be true. Yet somehow...-She painfully pushed herself onto her side and found her arms and legs very much movable and seemingly all held in place as one would expect.

"What in the..." She gasped, pushing herself further to lay upon her back staring back up towards the peak unable to comprehend what had happened. Fear had driven her into the recess of her mind, a defensive instinct and one to protect herself. It was as though she had blacked out from all reality around her, and somehow, however she had come crashing down the mountain side, bloodied and bruised yet she remained unbroken.

She wasn't however in a rush to return to the Exarch...-After all he had thrown her to what should have been her death, and her body cried out in agony because of him. Whatever twisted lesson he had meant to teach her, the Girl in all her youth and unrestrained emotion, couldn't help but be furious with him. In what crazed state of mind did someone treat their assistant in such a vicious way.

"You heartless bastard..." she complained as she lay there trying to catch her breath and praying that the pain would recede so that she might be spared the torment. The words came easily, far from being within hearing distance, although whether or not she would still be able to show such anger when standing before the man was yet to be seen. There was something about him that, despite his former generosity, had struck her as cold and calculating; Now having been confirmed...

Just who was she dealing with, and what had she signed on for.

There was little to no emotion shown on her face from the chastising words from her master. Perhaps formally, when she had first became his apprentice, she would have cringed or shied away from his harsh words. Confidence in herself had grown now, and while she knew he was right, that didn’t mean she would be defensive about her position. It was another lesson, no matter how small, to file away for another time. Everything was done to make her into a better sith for the future, a sharper weapon in his arsenal, and a more competent Sieur for her people.

When Adron began to recount the recent happenings at Garde Noire, it was all Xobos could do to keep the proud smile from running off her face. The tidings at the mine had spread quite quickly apparently, having also been brought up at the recent party for the signing of the treaty. It wasn’t something that she had expected, but apparently there were more eyes on her little town than originally thought. Something to keep in mind moving forward, that was for sure.

What hadn’t been talked about, what couldn’t be known, was what had occurred in her mind during the trip into the minds. All that the public and aristocracy seemingly knew was that she had subjugated the beasts somehow. Adron was smarter than that, however. He knew there was something more going on, as he always did. His speech about the mentally connections spoke to that.

His query about the stillness in her mind gave her the opportunity to speak for the first time, and she knew his frustration would be evident if she was not as thorough as possible about the experience. With this at the back of her mind, she brought the flute up to her lips, sipping down the clear liquid, before beginning with a soft sigh. “My voices are silent.”

Her eyes downcast to the side, staring off into the desert in thought as she recounted. “Upon entering into the mines, they were all still there, still speaking. I conversed with Ambrus, Ora, even Lagos. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary, at least not until we made it deeper.” Another pause, this time to take another sip of her flute’s wine. “The Maalraas we found there was proficient in the dark side of the force. She called herself Saboratas, and she tried to enter into my mind and take it over. That thing..almost succeeded. I could feel my defenses beginning to fail, despite all the training that you’ve put me through.”

A nosey sigh exhaled through her nose while her eyes turned from the horizon to look to her master. There was a stoicism that was not normally present in her manner, like she wasn’t constantly fighting something. “Something in my mind fought back and freed me. Not myself. That thing called itself Amboragos. It called my mind it’s own. I do not know what it means. After it spoke, It has not said a word since, and neither have my other voices...” Her words trailed off, a slight tremor at the end betraying the nervousness that had seeped in by now.

KNOWLEDGE

The Exarch turned his eyes to the Commando droid that stood behind him. It's body was a perfect metallic black with an amethyst crest stamped on it's left shoulder in the shape of the Confederate seal. "Go." He said. It seemed that Danielle had finally awoken, so now it was time for the girl to begin her next training exercise. Without hesitation the droid pulled it's arms that were clasped at the small of it's metallic back. "Roger, roger." It stated, before turning to the ledge and sprinting over the cliffside. The automaton flew over the edge of the cliff and as it fell Adron glanced over to Xobos with a curious expression.

"Silent?" He questioned.

The Commando Droid flew down the rocky side of the cliff, folding it's body into a turn and slamming into a hard surface. The droid's fist slammed in the ground as it steadied itself. Standing to his full height, the Commando droid turned it's eyes towards Danielle Mueller with that same still expression that was printed on the face of all droids. "Climb." He ordered, gesturing back up to the top of the cliff. "Exarch Malvern commands you return to the top of the cliff immediately. At night fall there are several Tusken Raider Tribes that use the path running under the mountain as a trading point. If they discover you, they will kill you." The droid's metallic voice informed the girl. "Climb or you will die." The grim tone was met with silence as the droid turned to the rock wall, latching it's metallic hands onto the hard rocky surface and effortlessly climbing back to the top of the massive rock formation.

On the top of the rock formation, Adron had been listening to Xobos with a curious expression. It could not be mere coincidence that the girl's voices had disappeared during her confrontation of the Maalraas. They were beings born of the Dark Side and had a distinctive presence in the Force. Of course...they were not known to be particularly powerful creatures. In fact, as far as Adron was concerned the Maalraas use of the Dark Side was purely instinctual. So as he listened to his apprentice's words it did not make sense, until he said a single name.

Sabatora.

This caused the Sith Lord to turn to his apprentice with an obviously curios expression. "Sabatora?!" He questioned, before taking a step closer to the woman. "Are you certain? That was the name you heard? Sabatora?" He demanded.

The Sith Lord paused for a moment, bringing his hand to his chin in a moment of curiosity mixed with confusion. He listened to the woman speak, before shaking his head. "I do not know the name Amoragos. However it has an ancient tone to it. I shall have my Knight's research the name thoroughly. It is likely a key to the many voices that plague your mind." He said, before turning from the woman. "As for Sabatora, that is a name I do recognize. That is a name that yet holds some esteem in the culture of the Sith."

"Darth Sabatora was a Sith Lord from before the fall of the Sith Empire of old. If I recall correctly they called her Lady Sabatora The Sphinx. A curios woman. She had a knack for taking on powerful Sith Lords as her husbands only to drain them of their life force and use their bodies for alchemical means. Back then the title of Darth was passed out like a simple treat. Her power was likely far below your own abilities now however she did have her niche skills which allowed her to stand among the upper echelon of the Sith in her time."

"She was one of the few Sith Lords of note whose death was not documented. In fact, rumors state she disappeared into the depths of Wild Space not far from here. Yet, you claim this beast spoke her name, claiming it to be her own?" He said, questioning his apprentice.

The look that she gave the droid as it relayed the Exarch's instructions to her, was not one of amusement nor kindness. Danielle's jaw locked tightly, and she withheld the variety of harsh phrases that did come to mind by response; Instead the Girl chose to turn her attention away from the current source of frustration within arms reach, and tried to focus instead on sizing up the challenge that stood looming over her. A great wall of rock, juttered, cracked and uneven rising high up into the sky from the meager place of her landing.

Danielle's body ached something Gods-aweful. Whatever had saved and kept her bones from breaking from the fall, hadn't given her mercy enough to keep the pain and fatigue from setting in from the traumatic ordeal. Had she been fully conscious, and not withdrawn into the depths of her inner-being, she may not have succeeded in raising whatever aid had come to her in that moment of immense fear, elation and instinctive protection of her body and mind.

Naturally, the droid began it's climb and doing so with great ease just to rub salt in the wound so to speak. Danielle watched the lifeless husk returning to it's Master and felt further anger building within her gut and threatening to rise out of her, though no shouts were let loose against her higher passions. She would not allow herself to lose composure, and especially not when there still lay challenges ahead of her. She simply didn't have the time to be acting like a child, no matter how justified her anger was with the Exarch.

Pulling her Gloves tighter around her wrist to ensure they wouldn't be undone during the climb ahead, Dani looked up one last time to try to see the peak where she had been thrown from. Discarded like something useless and empty of value. Like she meant nothing. It was so infuriating, the insult was almost too much. Part of her wanted to take the risk of these Tusken Raiders just to not have to look the man in the eye again after what he had done...

She reached for the cliff face however, searching for a stable grip around the jarring rock formation. First her left hand, then her right foot, again looking to seek out the most permacrete footing to support her weight, beginning her long climb up. The smallest error or shift in the rock-wall, likely to lead to another great fall, and possibly death depending on the height she might have gained.

Of all the things that Adron knew of his apprentice, the fact that she was constantly plagued by the voices of those that sought to bring her pain and misfortune was at the top. He knew that they never ceased, and for Xobos to insinuate that they had become silent would be a extreme revelation in of itself. And how it had happened was even more unbelievable. That was why when he questioned the occurrence, Xobos gave an understanding nod in agreement. “Silent. You may search my mind to confirm for yourself, if you haven’t already.” She wouldn’t be surprised if he wasn’t already doing so. That is what the mark was for, after all.

The question and reaction she wasn’t expecting was the sith lord’s reaction to the name of Sabatora. It meant nothing to Xobos, though she wasn’t exactly the most well versed in ancient sith history. That had not been a subject of her studies under the sith lord, though now that she was moving more out on her own it seemed to be necessary to learn more of it. As for this situation, she was alright with letting Adron describe what had made Sabatora such a revered name in sith culture.

Her stories made her seem like quite the interesting woman. Seemingly able to drain much more powerful men and woman of their power through sheer willpower. “Emotions can be..quite the powerful thing, if not kept in check. You taught me this. It sounds as though this..Sabatora’s lovers allowed their emotions for her blind them of the dangers she posed, allowing her to undermine and get close enough to kill them. In other words..” Xobos smiled, lightly, flashing it toward Adron with a smartness that had only recently started to show itself. “They were weak minded and vulnerable.”

“But if what you say is true..” She mused, watching as the droid began it’s climb from the bottom of the cliff, soon followed by the apprentice. Xobos had been put through many a trial such as this one, and Dani would find no sympathy from her sister. The younger would make her way through this life learning one very important lesson, that being how to survive. “Sabatora’s might have been one of the earliest sith to use some sort of..life essence transfer or transmutation to take her victims life force on. Fascinating.”

When asked to confirm that it was the beast that had spoken her name, her master was responded to with another nod of confirmation. Xobos knew what she had heard. “That’s what the beast said her name was. I did find it odd at the time that such a beast could be proficient in the force. However, knowing the name’s origin now does open a few…interesting possibilities of what may exactly be going on here…” Her words trailed off as the apprentice began to be lost in thought, but was also mindful of what her master might say. He knew the force better than anyone she knew. If there were secret’s to be unlocked here, he might not have the key, but he would know the ingredients to make the mold.

Adron glanced back at his apprentice when she mentioned the stillness of her mind. He said nothing, did nothing, whether she realized it or not all drastic changes of her psyche were closely tethered to the mark that rested on her mind. That had been the main factor to aid the Sith Lord in sensing his apprentice's subtle shift in mentality on the world of Illyria. Still, the thought that Xobos had taken a certain notice of this silence was good, it shows that the woman was not an idiot.

While keeping his eyes fastened on his struggling apprentice below, the Exarch listened to the Miraluka's assumption of the Sith of old. This caused his lips to curl into an agreeing smile. "I suppose you are right. It was not the first time that lust and love were the path that led a man to death, neither will it be the last."

Xobos' next words were wise and they even caused the Sith Lord's brow to quirk in interest. "You've been keeping up with your studies." He complimented, before turning back to the woman with his arms crossed over his chest. He placed his hand upon his chin as he often did in moments of contemplation, stroking the few stray hairs that had managed to grow upon his otherwise shaven chin. "This is an interesting revelation." The Dark Lord turned his back to Xobos before exhaling softly in a feigned expression of boredom or complacency. "It cannot be helped then." His arms came back to the small of his back while he gazed down at Danielle curiously.

"You'll leave immediately. You will deactivate all Confederate identifiers in your ship and if you must take an escort it will be composed of freshly mind-wiped droids." He explained to the woman, not caring to turn to her as he spoke. "Several systems from here is a volcanic planet named Shola. If the research I conducted during my time in the Galactic Empire is correct, it is the planet that Lady Sabatora was believed to flee to. In fact, my tomes mentioned a temple she erected there."

"Take the beast that claims Sabatora's name and find out the fate of the Sith Lady for yourself. I sense that the Dark Side calls you to fulfil your first test, much earlier than I anticipated."

His eyes turned to Xobos with a certain coldness to them. "If you do not surround yourself in the Dark Side then you will die on Shola. Make no mistake, weakness will be rewarded with oblivion in the trials of the Sith."

"Go. Find the fate of Sabatora and bring yourself closer to the title of Sith Knight."

The climb back up the cliff-side was nothing short of exhausting, and seemingly endless. Danielle's arms strained as she pulled herself up, her adjacent foot pushing herself onward against all her body's desire to simply give up and be done with it.

What possible advantage or lesson could something as brutal and drastic as this, give someone alike herself who had taken on the position as Adron's assistant in Viceroyal affairs. She knew he had mentioned that part of her job was also to protect him, and she had military background from as early as she could remember, yet this was something vastly more horrific than any of the drills they'd run her through back home.

'I'm going to kill 'em' she thought to herself, battling against her physical limitations and feeding into her anger and hurt for how easily he had cast her off that edge, 'I'm going to bloody his nose' she added to herself within. Danielle had never wanted so badly to hurt someone, yet Adron could well have cost her her life.

Very much unaware of her personal aura or presence within the force, the Darkside had swelled to her and with every further inch she climbed, every nasty and yet somehow satisfying remark she whispered in her mind, that presence grew, the Force flowing throughout her body and sustaining her strength and endurance as she neared the peak.

When Dani did finally reach the top, her left hand came up and over, fingers dragging through the loose sand trying to catch a grip on any piece of the rock-bed in order to hoist herself up and rolling over onto her back, that same arm hanging over the ledge as it was left right alongside her, chest rising and falling with each desperate gasp of breath.

She didn't yet have the strength to find the right set of words to accommodate her anger towards the Exarch at that time, but as soon as she'd caught her breath, she sure as chit planned on giving him seven hell's of an earful.

Compliments were not things that were handed out regularly by the King, so when he gave credence to the fact she had kept up with her studies, the apprentice couldn’t help the soft smile that peaked at the edges of her lips. Even during her time attempting to run her little mining town as best she could, Xobos had made sure to be taking time to herself to continue the studies of the sith arts. It was only luck that recently had she begun to study some of the lesser known sith powers held by those far in their past.

The description of her new mission had Xobos..puzzled for a moment. In all their travels together, she had never heard of or been to a planet called Shola. And from what it sounded like, this place was not one that would be taken lightly. If she was to turn off all Confederate trackers, was this planet some kind restricted area? Were people not to go there without wavers? Whatever the case, Adron was being very pointed to make sure Xobos was not followed to this planet.

As for the droids, she almost immediately knew she wouldn’t be taking any with her. Adron knew that, more than likely. He knew that she liked to handle this sort of business on her own. And f she was going to some sort of ancient sith planet, bringing droids there seemed..wrong. It was meant to be a sacred place. It seemed like a quick way to get a sith spirit angry at you, bringing a number of droids to stomp all over those sacred grounds. For that reason, she would go alone.

Adron’s warning was unexpected, to say the least. Most of the time he would have been happy to allow her to go and find out the dangers for herself. If he was taking the time to warn her of the dangers ahead, either he wanted her to succeed on this mission for his own purposes, or what she was about to face would be so overwhelming that she needed every advantage she could get. Impossible missions were nothing she hadn’t faced before. Xobos just hoped she’d be alive to see the end of this one.

The sounds of climbing could heard louder now, prompting Xobos to look over and see the newest of her sisters pulling herself over the edge. The anger and frustration that ran through her could be felt with ease, something that reminded her very much of her own early training. That unbridled rage made her smile lightly, chuckling lightly in turn. Danielle would be wise to hold her tongue. Xobos had learned that lesson very early on as well. Turning to the King, smile falling into a stoic expression, her head bowed as she moved.

“I will head to Shola immediately. And as for you,” she started, turning to look at her sister apprentice. “I know exactly how you are feeling right now. I would say it would be wise to make sure you do not say anything that you will regret, sister.” This would be the only warning that would come from Xobos, and more than likely, the only warning that the new apprentice would get all together. Adron was more than happy to allow her to make a mistake in the next few moments.

FREE YOURSELF

With Xobos stating her departure, the man nodded silently before his eyes quirked and he turned to hear the rifling of rock and dirt moving about. When he glanced down he could see that Danielle had scaled the massive plateau in rather good time. While he felt some pride for the accomplishment, that was not the entirety of the exercise. Instead he simply stood there with his arms crossed as he gazed down at the girl searchingly.

The words that came from Xobos' lips were heard by the Sith Lord, yet he allowed them. Bonds, regardless of his own master's teachings, were the source of strength and under the training of Darth Malphas one could never have too many sources of strength. As Xobos turned to make her departure, Adron regarded her with another silent nod of the head before his eyes turned back to Danielle. Her mind was fluttering as the wings of an insect, wrapping itself around so many different emotions and thoughts. In the center of those thoughts was a single, powerful feeling.

Anger.

In teenagers it was such an easy emotion to kindle a flame to. So it must be properly fed as a pet in need of growth. Adron did not say anything for a time, instead he stared at the woman as she caught her breath.

"Are you angry, little girl?" He taunted her, his tone a fair sight different from how he usually regarded her.

"Why are you angry?" He continued, his expression never faltering as he spoke to his apprentice. "Are you angry because you are confused or angry because you could have died? Are you angry at me?" He asked her, one question after another while slowly the Dark Side of the Force seethed out from his body, wrapping itself around her like a cloak of ice.

"Do you know why I threw you off of the mountain?" He asked.

"Because you could not stop it." He hissed, his hand curling into a tight fist. Just then Danielle's entire body would grow rigid and stiff. She would try to move but it would become impossible. Her body moved, but they were not her own, not her decision but her master's. His hand relaxed a bit and she was forced to rise to her knees, her arms held out at either side of her while her chin rose, forcing her to look at him. "You show talent, but you are still thinking like a child." He hissed once again, pressing his index finger to her temple as he spoke. "You must understand what power is before you can ever hope to wield even a fraction of it. Power is control, it is emotion, it is love and hate, it is everything you could ever want and everything that will be. However, for you power is nothing because until you release the chains surrounding you then you are nothing!"

"I can teach you to wield power, but I cannot deliver it into your hands. You must take it. Look at you now, a frightened girl unable to move, however you are still thinking like a child. Your body cannot move but your control of the Force is open and free. Do you want to move Danielle? Then do it or prove that you were better off at the bottom of this cliff." He told her, before turning his back to the woman and stepping away.

I know exactly how you are feeling right now.
I would say it would be wise to make sure you do not say anything that you will regret, sister.

Danielle stood there with her hands so tightly clenched that her gloves had tightened and the flow of blood restricted around where the straps almost felt to be cutting in at her wrists, staring back at the Exarch with eyes so dark it was as though one of the Suns had set behind the far horizon, though that wasn't to be the case. Her pupils had dilated in response to the anger and disgust that she felt boiling within her and yet the other young woman, Xobos Yakieer Xobos Yakieer told her to refrain from doing anything stupid. Even to the point of calling her Sister.

Was that what they were? Days prior to meeting Adron Malvern Adron Malvern , she'd never had a single friend in her life and after what she had thought had been the making of two of them, she now apparently had a Sister? At first all of these amazing and wonderful happenings were too great to deny, so great that she had felt her luck had changed in finding a place with the Confederacy. As an employer, Adron had been strict but she'd known the importance of his role and she'd done everything that'd been asked of her while at times not exactly understanding why, or what relevance it had to the job...-But today...Right now?

A sense of belonging. Acceptance and beyond that, actually feeling as though she had been wanted by others to be a part of something greater...-What girl couldn't be overjoyed with such things after having lived a life as hard as hers, with no one and nothing to call her own or to grace her with a smile for the entire thirteen years of her life living in some horrible military orphanage turned academy for future soldiers, trained to kill for those who never wanted them to begin with.

Right now, that's all that she felt she was once again. Pulled right back to square one, only on another world by a different people. And then Adron spoke...-And it felt as though the pain of rejection within her was suddenly justified by the revelation that he didn't care at all. Not if this was his way of trying to help her. As if to add insult to injury, Danielle finally lost her hold on herself and she moved to run at him...Only, she didn't move at all. At-least, not when she wanted herself to.

He was in control, somehow, holding her there as he continued to talk. And then, suddenly her arms were being pulled to either side of herself and she was held in place by a force she could not see. Helpless to do anything but hang there in place where he wanted her...-And still she didn't understand. Despite how hard she tried to will her limbs, her muscles to do what they were supposed to do...-All of it was for naught.

No longer was her anger so black and white, but fear and desperation had crept in along with her youthful ignorance, a lack of experience and understanding that any typical early teenager would be feeling, were this situation anything typical. "Why?..." The question escaped her without truly meaning to speak, yet with one word flowed so many others filled with a yearning to understand and make sense of why she was being treated in such a way. The job had been such an amazing offer and opportunity. She'd not messed up once despite how seriously unprepared she had been...

"What did I do to deserve all of this. I've done everything you asked me to do...".
