The pirate sat on the large throne, two of his slaves on either side. A message had been out to a select few people that fit the bill perfectly for The Exchange. He needed new contacts and business partners if this organization was going to expand. Otherwise, it would fall and crumble, like many others before.

Signaling for his drink, the slave lifted up the small plate. With his left hand, he grasped the cup, then set it down on the armrest. He wasn’t thirsty, but the two slaves needed to stay presentable. There was a name that he needed to keep up. Being the Master of the Hyperspace Seas wasn't a title everyone had. Heck, only a small amount actually made a name for themselves. Those who didn't washed out, or died trying to make it.

With a wave of his right hand, he opened the large doors that sat in front of him. The force was a tool he liked to use to his advantage, and he wouldn't let anyone boss him around because if it. But if they did, then that is where his lightsaber came into play. The pirate didn't care for the Jedi and Sith politics. Both were easy enough to plunder from, so no point in joining a lesser power.

Leaning back slightly in the chair, he stared back at the door. Clasping his hands together, he waited for the first person to walk through the door. The legacy and name of The Exchange shall become one that the galaxy will learn to fear.

Hello! This is a thread for any of you interested in joining The Exchange, or anyone already in it, to meet up with other members. Talk with Pyrrah to see how you can become a pirate, smuggler, slaver, trader, or anything in between!

The first person to come through the door didn't walk at all.

He slithered.

Doc Koltray entered the room slowly, crawling along the ground with a certain kind of swagger, his head held high over the floor, suspended in place despite the movement of his serpentine body beneath him. The body itself was long and sinuous, scales arrayed in a series of hypnotic brown diamonds. The snake's tail ended abruptly, replaced by cybernetics that belied some tragedy of the past.

Koltray peeked out from under the brim of his hat, yellow eyes narrowing as he scanned the room. He noted the man on the throne first, then cast side glances at his entourage with some distaste. The snake curled around himself in the middle of the room, all thirteen feet of him coiled into a compact form, that allowed him to reach his head a little higher.

His current employment was bounty hunting, so naturally, he was cautious when dealing with career criminals. But he was used to dealing with the disreputable. He preferred it, actually. They may try to stab you in the back, but at least you saw it coming.

"Doc Koltray," the snake drawled, with a distressingly strong accent. "Heard through the vine you might have some work for folks such as m'self."

A second person had just entered through the open doors to what could be called a Throne Room.

Diocletian often snatched at every and all opportunity with both his hands and when word trickled down that the man on the Throne had some work going he had made a beeline straight towards Corva Yag.

Diocletian had been looking for work throughout the Mid and Outer Rim, so everything seemed to dovetail perfectly with being here.

He can only go so far with killing and taking over other sentient's homes to stay afloat in a now rather turbulent Galaxy, so far it didn't seem to be working, he enjoyed doing it but it wasn't practical by any means in the long term.

So now he is here through the message he had picked up recently. Diocletian just scowled at everyone in the room, he didn't think highly of anyone, in fact, he looked down at just about everyone in a typical Ubese fashion, although a select few were an exception to this.

He was arrogant and callous, however, there is something about the occupant of the throne that just demanded respect from everyone including the Ubese.

<"Name's Diocletian Kahmen’’a and a little birdie tells me you have work for Bounty Hunters."> He says directly and to the point, but the tone is quite respectful.

The message of Pyrrah Tae Pyrrah Tae had reached far and wide through the galaxy. One such as Maestus herself had been informed of The Exchange. For better or worse, the priate king had drawn her attention.

As she stepped through the doorway, she paused. Covered in the Force, she was invisible to those with the power to sense her in that manner. She appeared as nothing more than a Lethan Twi'Lek in black robes with red stitching. and a red cloak with a hood. The only flesh seen, were her face and Lekku. All of which are covered in elaborate black tattoos.

She strode past the others, making her way to the throne. Once before it, she let her black eyes slide down to the two slaves beside the throne. She gave an approving nod, and spoke in a soft yet powerful voice.

It is good to see such creatures in their rightful place.

The pirate watched as the first member walked erm…slithered into the throne room. He recognized the figure to be Doc, the one who was selling out info on Zalada. Shame what happened to that Hutt, there was good business to be had with them. Oh well, that was in the past now.

“Greetings Doc. I’ve have to say, your name is has gained some popularity around here after what you did with that Hutt. I knew you would be interested in The Exchange.”

With a head nod towards the large snake, he turned his attention towards the next person that had entered the room. The Ubese was one that he had yet to learn the name of. The figure walked with the swagger of an experienced bounty Hunter. Good. No need for amateurs around here.

“Hello Diocletian. Glad to see some people interested in work. It’s getting harder and harder to find good bounty hunters these days.”

The third figure entered the room with a different walk than the other two. Covered in a robe, the person didn’t look like a bounty hunter. But, he sensed something about her that was unique, and he didn’t want the opportunity for workers to slip away.

After the Twi’lek gave her thoughts on his slaves, the pirate lifted up his right hand towards his side. Rubbing the back of his hand down the slave’s cheekbone, he could feel the shiver that she gave off. Such a wonderful feeling indeed: fear.

“Yes, they look quite beautiful standing here, don’t they? Anyways, you three aren’t here just to chat, at least I hope not. You are here because you are interested in work. And unless no one else shows up, it’ll be a three way race to complete my task.”

"Don't stop Counting yet, There is at least 4 now." Eldoc said as he walked into the room taking a swig of a bottle of whiskey. His entire person usually smelt of it. He had ran out of work which meant his drink budget would go dry if he didn't find new work. Thus here he was. This group seemed to be assembling so it looked like he hadn't missed anything. He shrugged not caring if there with sith ahead, he had long ago given up caring about force user politics. Heck he served the sith once upon a time. Hopefully this group paid well. He did have to keep his drink budget filled. Had to dull his mind, bad things tended to happen if he didn't.

Doc Koltray was a slow-moving twister in the center of the room, as his body slowly shifted and rotated over itself, constantly in motion, constantly rearranging himself, but his triangle-shaped head remained static in the air, watching Pyrrah Tae Pyrrah Tae on his throne. His stare was harsh, unbreaking, as he sized up the crime boss, deciding whether or not the man deserved respect.

That is, until Diocletian Kahmen’’a Diocletian Kahmen’’a entered the room, deigning not even to look below at Doc as he addressed the Pirate Lord. Koltray had seen the kind before. He was one of those high-and-mighty types, Doc Koltray reckoned. His life was worth more, because of whatever reason. Maybe it was a set of higher morals. Maybe it was religious. Maybe it was cultural. Koltray didn't care, the resulting attitute was the same. He twisted his body ever so slightly to keep the Ubese in his sights.

Then, another, Maestus Maestus , breezed past the two bounty hunters, and directly up to the throne. Doc Koltray let a sibilant hiss escape him, annoyed at the brazenness of this individual to cut in line, and walk directly to the throne without consequence.

After the three had entered, the representative of the Exchange spoke, introducing the bounty hunters who had forfeited their identities. Doc Koltray himself turned his hat down to hide his expression at the mention of his former master. When he eventually kicked the bucket, he didn't want to be remembered as a betrayer. "I do what needs to be done," he said simply.

But then, Pyrrah mentioned a race.

Just like that, Doc Koltray stopped looking at the others in the room like pests he would forget in a day, and started looking at them like competition. His expression immediately changed, and the slightest of smiles played along his face.

And as an additional contestant in their race, Eldoc Quasat Eldoc Quasat , entered, tardy and inebriated, Doc Koltray turned up his hat to the pirate, a glint of something dangerous in his eye.

"A race?"

She had manners. Sometimes. She took a step to the side so the others would have an unobstructed view of Pyrrah Tae Pyrrah Tae . She was curious, about this race he mentioned. Perhaps it would be to her advantage and worth her time to partake. She would need to hear more before making that decision. She had her own reasons for being here.

As Doc Koltray Doc Koltray hissed in her direction, she turned black eyes upon him for a moment. She reached a hand up, and lowered the hood on her cloak, exposing red flesh covered in elaborate black tattoos. Her gaze was unsettling to most, and she let it rest a moment before shifting her gaze back to Pyrrah.

I would hear more first.

Nodding his head at Pyrrah Tae as he spoke in acknowledgement, but had nothing to add to the discussion at present, he preferred to observe, easier to know what is what before fully committing to anything.

Hmmm, a race, competing for something certainly makes things highly interesting. Healthy competition is exactly what this profession needed right now. So far in this room, no one seemed to catch his interest, well Maestus did, simply for the striking contrast between black and red. She looked deadly as well.

Doc Koltray looked like decent competition too, Diocletian had never met a Fillithar before in person, he did, however, hear of them rather fleetingly here and there.

<"A race, a race for what exactly?>" He asked after a moment of quiet consideration at Pyrrah Tae's words.

A smile slowly crept into his face, though unseen by the others due to his helmet. He had gained their attention, which was exactly what he hoped for. At the snap of his fingers, the slave to his left presented the pirate with a holoprojector, small in size. Snatching it from her hand, he clicked the device on.

What appeared to the others was the face of a man that owed him quite a few credits, none of which have been repaid.

“My friends, the race will be for a high class bounty. The man’s name is Ari 'R' Ferr . He is the ruler of the planet known as Kor Vett.”

Taking a small pause, he let the anticipation sink in for these hunters. He knew that for some it wasn’t just the money, but the thrill.

“A while ago, Ari purchased one of my prized items, one that could help his vehicle win him the spot as ruler of Kor Vett. Well, since this purchase, I have had yet to receive the credits promised.”

Clicking a button on the side of the holoprojector, the image switched over to a large tower.

“This is Mr. Ferr’s office. My sources tell me that he will be there for the next seven days, discussing off-world trading matters. Your job will be to get in, get Ari, and bring him to me. Alive.”

With another pause, he held back the most important piece of information. The one that will be the most critical the the hunt.

“One more thing: only one of you will be receiving credits for this bounty. And trust me, you will be paid very handsomely. Now, is there any questions?”

Ah. That kind of race.

Koltray looked on in deep interest at Pyrrah Tae Pyrrah Tae as the holoprojector revealed the bust of a man. He studied it to the best of his abilities in that brief moment. His stare had become ritual at this point, peering into the eyes of his quarry, as if searching for the measure of his soul.

The Fillithar had never had his skills tested in such a way before. As much as he hated to admit it, he had always been rather small-time, taking what jobs he could, all in the pursuit to grow his reputation. Or his infamy. He didn't care much for which he accrued. This would be the perfect opportunity to prove himself. To take his measure against the others.

Taking him alive would be... difficult, to say the least. Especially if the bounty hunters happened to get there at the same time. It would be difficult to keep the target breathing in the middle of a firefight.

The snake twisted his neck to take in his competitors once more. He'd noted Maestus Maestus ' dark stare, and reciprocated it, his slitted eyes narrowing in challenge, but also understanding that there was something more to her beyond the obvious. The other one, Diocletian Kahmen’’a Diocletian Kahmen’’a , was armed and armored to the teeth, or whatever was behind that helmet. He would have to take that into account.

Koltray's body slithered around itself once more, and he lowered his head to the ground, as if in preparation to strike. He debated attempting to gun the rest of them down now, take the bounty without competition, but eventually decided against it. He doubted the pirate king would like that very much.

"One question," he said, speaking slowly, gravity behind every word, gesturing with his cybernetic tail at his rivals. "Would you prefer they come back alive?"

As Pyrrah Tae Pyrrah Tae spoke, Maestus let her eyes sweep around the room. Unlike her counterparts, she did not seem interested in them, allowing her eyes to glide over them. Except Doc Koltray Doc Koltray . His reaction to her withering look was curious. He would bear watching.

What Pyrrah Tae Pyrrah Tae offered was a tempting quarry. It had been long since she had been on a hunt. Perhaps it was time to stretch her muscles in this capacity once more. She was mentally calculating the benefits such an alliance could offer her. She offered Pyrrah Tae Pyrrah Tae a nod, and spoke with a velvet voice.

Your proposal is acceptable.

As Doc Koltray Doc Koltray asked about hers and the others survival, Maestus smirked. To let the serpent slither away or kill him now for his insolence. Decisions, decisions. She folded her arms cross her chest. A finger tapping against her elbow as she weighed the balance.

For now, she reasoned, Doc Koltray Doc Koltray would not be killed. Perhaps even he could be of use.

"That is fine with me." Eldoc said and then looked to get ready to go, stretching and the like. Then he took another swig, couldn't go too long without a drink after all. Well unless there was fighting, then other things were on the mind. Since this needed to be alive and he had competition he figured how to do this. Eldoc already had a plan. He only readied himself incase the others decided to do something stupid like start fighting between each other now. His body ready to spring into a fight should it come to it. Honestly this seemed like a waste of time, to have the four of them compete like this.

He could sense the internal conflict going on between the four of them.

Being forced sensitive allowed him many special abilities, and this was one of them. Doc was confident about taking on the bounty alone. He even considered killing the other three, which the pirate found interesting. Maybe that information could be used for later.

The girl, odd enough as she was, seemed to have a plan set up as well. Though he wasn’t sure how well a team up between her and Doc would go, especially since Pyrrah was going to pay one of them.

Finally, he turned his focus towards Eldoc. Not much could he taken from him, mainly because of all the drinking he was doing. The pirate did enjoy the taste of alcohol, but never durning a business meeting like this. Oh well, at least he could narrow down who would more than likely bring Ari to him.

“To answer your question Doc, no, they are not the ones that I am interested in. As blunt as it may be, I don’t care if some of you don’t return alive. Hell, some of you won’t even come back alive. This is a high profile target, but that is why I called you four in.”

Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out four more holoprojectors. Then he tossed one to each of the bounty hunters.

“Those contain directions to the planet of Kor Vett, and then a map of the city where the tower is located. Best of luck to all of you.”

With that, Pyrrah would send the bounty hunters away, off to do his dirty work.

Hey y’all, sorry for the really late reply. Been busy with some IRL stuff. The thread will now be shifting to the perspective of Ari in his office. From their, you guys will be trying to capture him. Hopes this works for all of you

The Ubese smiled under his helmet, a super dangerous hunt? This is getting better than he had expected. He gave the main holo vid a good look over, the man in it wasn't much to look at, the tower, on the other hand, was something to behold, it's better than the ones on Nar Shaddaa, he could swear one leaned too far to the left and if it wasn't bolted to the floor it would roll out the window and onto the head of some poor sod, usually a rather large and heavy musical instrument of some sort.

He catches the mini holoprojector that Pyrrah tossed to him one-handed, giving it a brief look over before placing it in a pouch on his belt. It will be much better to watch whatever recording is on it in private, away from prying eyes. The plan is simple, get the Bounty at any cost, the other three are just rivals, rivals that needed to be trodden on to get to the prize at the end of the 'race'.

Such as the way the blaster, well, blasts.

<"Luck has nothing to do with it, it's more about skill and cunning."> Diocletian chimed in rather coldly, folding his arms and fixing Pyrrah with an equally cold stare.

Under the brim of his hat, Doc smiled, his eyes barely visible, revealing neeedle-like teeth. This was the best-case scenario. He had an idea of a plan already, that certainly involved the endangerment/death of the competition, so Pyrrah Tae Pyrrah Tae not putting value in their lives made that much easier.

When the holoprojector was thrown, he caught it with his tail, surprisingly coordinated, and attached it onto one of his bandoleers. He kept that section of himself within sight at all times. If it was destroyed he was out of the race early, and he couldn't have that.

The snake gave a sideways glance to Diocletian Kahmen’’a Diocletian Kahmen’’a , raising an eyebrow. Doc Koltray wasn't arrogant enough to completely discount luck as a contributing factor. He could only hope it was with him. In a hunt like this, his odds didn't look particularly good.

But he steeled himself nonetheless. There was something to be said about the other hunter's statement. Cunning and skill would decide their fate, and the fate of the target.

Doc Koltray didn't speak. He simply raised his tail to his hat, tipped it slightly to the Pirate Lord, and slid out silently, bobbing back and forth as he pulled himself along the ground. Posturing would get him nowhere.

His loudest boast would be his success.

- Maestus Maestus - Eldoc Quasat Eldoc Quasat -

She caught the holoprojector, and it disappeared within her robes. She let her eyes fall on her competitors, weighing the balance of each one.

Doc Koltray Doc Koltray she considered her closest competition. He gave the impression of being cunning and sharp witted. With an attention to detail. He would bearing watching carefully. If she had to kill him, she would.

Diocletian Kahmen’’a Diocletian Kahmen’’a was an enigma behind his mask. He discounted luck, as did Maestus. Luck, she believed, was in your own hands. She made her own luck. Through sheer cunning and her use of the Force. She would keep an eye on this one.

Eldoc Quasat Eldoc Quasat she considered the least to worry about. An obvious drunkard, she idly wondered if he could even manage to find his way to Kor Vett. Still, she had learned long ago to never trust what anyone said, and to not judge a book by its cover. She would move cautiously with that one.

Her gaze returned to Pyrrah Tae Pyrrah Tae after inspecting the others. Fixing him with a level look, she spoke once more.

When I return, we shall discuss further business.

She turned on her heel, robes swirling around her, and strode out.

"Very Well, though I wish the target didn't need to return alive. Easier that way." Eldoc ignored the looks, he was used to it. He was pretty sure he could win in the fight out of all of them. He had helped take over whole planets, getting one person was a cake walk. In fact it wasn't worth his time. Instead he prepared himself to intercept the others. He would let them do the hard work of getting the target and then reap the reward when he took the target from them. So when he left he focused on plotting how to intercept the others. Had to work smarter not harder. Plus if he didn't manage, no sweat off his back, he would just find another job. Eldoc started to leave, had to make it look like he was going to chase after their target too after all.

The man’s worn hands rested on the table in front of him.

He would rather be anywhere else right now than stuck in this office building. His title of Race Master was more than just for show. Unfortunately, that meant he had to deal with off-world trade discussions.

Kor Vett was doing fine without support from other worlds, so he wasn’t sure why the planet needed it now. The people were fine and happy, and didn’t need some aliens to come in and mess it up.

In front of his chair was eight businessmen, half from one world and half from another. Both wanted Kor Vett’s powerful tech, something that he didn’t want to get rid of. But for now, he would entertain their offers. Races needed to be raced and people needed to be governed, and this was taking up that time.

“Alright men, hit me with your offers.”

Hey y’all, now the story will shift to the actual hunt. Feel free to try and capture Ari however you would like. Sorry for the late post.

CURRENT MOOD: DEADLY SERIOUS

There were few things that the ruthless bounty hunter and scoundrel Doc Koltray wouldn't do for a paycheck.

Sure, many beings that called this galaxy home would attest to that. Every stock mercenary sitting on a street corner said they would do anything for the right price, but most had a limit, a line that couldn't be crossed, no matter how many credits were tossed at their feet. At some point, most people realize there are some places they cannot go, some actions they cannot do, some poor sap they couldn't kill, not for any amount of money.

So when Doc Koltray said he would do anything to get ahead, to win, he knew the gravity of the statement. And he meant it.

The Fillithar had arrived on Kor Vett quickly, and after a quick disembarkment, he commanded the ship through it's slave circuits to perform lazy, unobtrusive circles around the planet. He would call it again when he needed it.

It was easy to find where Ari 'R' Ferr was on Kor Vett. He was the reigning ruler of the planet, after all, and a public figure that was also one of the most famous racers on the planet could only do so much to hide their location. He'd heard over the holonet that negotiations with foreign dignitaries were taking place in this office building.

Koltray's plan was a masterclass in simplicity. Make a job too complicated, and it was more likely to fail. Make it short, sweet, and to the point, and you have a better chance of success.

After slithering quietly into the main reception area of the office complex, dodging the sightline of the front receptionist, the snake's long, sinewous body forced up a ventilation grate, and crawled inside, with barely a noise.

Perhaps others would bust down a door. Not him. He would be in the walls.
