- Heavily Armed: The Watchtower Class Battle Station is equipped with dozens of turbolaser and ion batteries, as well as dozens of concussion missile tubes and torpedo launchers capable of firing either proton or ion torpedoes. This makes the station extremely dangerous to capital ships.
- Heavily Defended: The Watchtower Class Battle Station is equipped with multiple heavy redundant shield arrays, each designed with it's own power plant and storage batteries. When one array is burnt out or overloaded, or otherwise looses power, the next powers up to take the brunt of the workload. As well, the thick durasteel plate hull is covered with an ablative coating that makes the physical hull able to dissipate incoming energy at a higher rate than standard durasteel. Finally, the Watchtower employs a powerful point defense system made up of micro-laser cannons and dozens of chaff launchers designed to shoot down incoming fighters and projectiles as well as launching chaff to confuse the guidance systems of incoming missiles and torpedoes.
- Able to Dock with Corvettes, Frigates and Cruiser type ships: The Watchtower Battle Station has the facilities to dock with up to three frigate or cruiser sized ships and up to four corvette sized ships at a time. Worker drones from the station can affect minor external and substantial internal repairs to ships, as well as basic refits and upgrades.
- Advanced Sensors and Anti-Jamming Technology: The Watchtower Battle Station has an advanced sensor suite that allows for early detection of most types of vessels from starfighter to super-star destroyer types within the space of a star system. These capabilities can be boosted using networks of remote sensor stations. In addition, the Watchtower's outgoing communications array is reinforced by multiple high power transmitters designed to meet jamming signals with an even higher signal. Silver Naval Intelligence and R&D estimate that it would take twice the amount of jamming power to stop a transmission from a Watchtower Station than would normally be needed for a ship/station of it's tonnage.
- Low Speed: The Watchtower Class Battle Station is equipped with only the most rudimentary of ion drives. It is capable of moving at sublight speeds, but only very slowly, as it has been designed to be primarily stationary.
- Low Maneuverability: The station is equipped with a very basic thruster assembly, capable of maneuvering the station but only very slowly as the station has been designed to be primarily stationary.
- Slow Hyperdrive: The Watchtower Class Battle Station has been equipped with an emergency hyper-drive, but this is only intended to move the station from base position to base position as theaters of war change, or as a last ditch emergency effort to stave off destruction by enemy forces.
- Big Target: The Watchtower Class Battle Station is massive and as such dominates the horizon of any system where it resides. With a construction of that magnitude it is impossible to hide the sensor echo it emits, so the designers haven't even bothered to try.
The Watchtower-Class Battle Station was designed as part of a new initiative by the Silver Jedi forces to reinforce their borders from enemy incursions. It is a primarily stationary station capable of housing 10,000 naval personnel and up to 15,000 soldiers and 2000 pieces of armor, vehicles and/or artillery. It has the ability to dock with several ships ranging from Corvette to Cruiser class and affect minor exterior repairs and extensive internal repairs. The station is designed to be able to move, albeit slowly, allowing the station to be redeployed in accordance to changing theaters of war and borders.
